《Anime One Shots Book 1》Laxus X Fem!Reader (Fairy Tail) {I'll Always Be Here}

I laid in bed and looked over at the man I loved. I haven't been able to sleep for the passed month, and I think he's noticed. It was now 12:29am and I was still wide awake.
I've tried everything, making hot milk, reading and listening to relaxing music. And yet here I was, still wide awake. Maybe it was because of the last mission I went on. It was a solo job and the whole time I just wanted to be with someone. I wanted someone beside me.
Maybe it was the person I had to fight. They were screaming at me the whole time about how I would always be alone. "Aw, look at this girl. Doesn't even have a friend to help her. Looks like you'll be all alone for the rest of you're short life!" They said, swing their sword and then pointing at me.
I'll admit I was out of it that whole day. I haven't taken a job in a week. Ate as little as I could, Laxus started to notice.
"Are you sure you're okay?" He asked one night, "you eat more than this even when you're sick."
I had to get out of here. I can't keep doing this to everyone I know. I can't keep pushing them away like this. There was always I bag I kept packed incase of something like this. When ever I needed to run. I slipped out of bed and went into the bathroom.
Opening the the window, I climbed out and jumped to the ground. There was a bin hidden under the stairwell. The bin was covered put my leaves to make sure everyone thought it was just a massive pile of leaves. I uncovered it and took out my bag.
"(Y/n)?" I jumped at the sound of my name. "What the hell are you doing?" Laxus. It was only Laxus. Fuck, it was Laxus.
I didn't say anything, I just picked up the bag out of the bin.
"What's in the bag?" He asked, moving to block where I was going.
I didn't replied, moving around him and took off running.
Its not like he would come running after me. This way I wouldn't have to answer any questions. I knew that I was freaking out but, its been like this for years. Why else would I join Saber Tooth instead of Fairy Tail. Or why I didn't move all of my stuff out of my apartment when Laxus and I got married. I told him the night before we started planning the wedding.

"You know that one day I'll freak out and run, right?" I asked, he nodded. "Sting told me all about it already. But I know that you'll come back."
"I'm not really sure..." I whispered.
"Do you want to get married?" He asked, "if not, then let's not. After all no one knows yet. Hell you haven't even started to where the necklace yet."
"You know that I don't want it to get messed up, taken, or anything..."
Huh? Why a necklace and not a ring? Oh well Laxus and I both agreed that rings are crazy expansive so we agreed to get something that didn't.
"Yeah I know, do you want to start telling people?" He asked.
"We can, if you want to." I replied.
"Choose, tell people or not." He replied, "I have to know your answer."
I looked around the room, spotting our picture we took as we were on our first date. We went on jobs for awhile together. We had this inside joke about us dating going on and then one day we went on a date.
"Yeah, let's tell them. But I'll tell my guild and you tell yours, alright?" I said.
He nodded and kissed me, "okay see you in a few hours?" I nodded, "see you."
I got to the train station and fell asleep, holding the necklace in my hand.
----
It was night time once again and I knocked on my older brothers door. Lector came and opened the door, "(Y/n)!" He shouted and jumped into my arms, making me drop the necklace I never let go of.
Sting comes running when he hears my name, but stopped dead in his tracks when he sees the necklace on the floor.
"You really did it, huh?" He asked.
I nodded, still holding Lector in my arms so he couldn't see the tears forming in my eyes.
"I told you I would, I told him that I would." He brought me inside and we sat down.
"So what happened? Did anything happen?" He asked.
I shook my head, "he did nothing wrong. It was me, it always is remember." I replied.
"Are you going back?"
I shrugged, "I'm not sure yet. All I know is that I made up my mind to leave but that's how far I've gotten. Brain was on auto polite so I just ended up here. I'm sorry for barging in like this."

He shook his head, "what are twins for?"
We sat in silence before Lector asked, "is he gonna come looking for you?"
I picked him up and sat him in my lap, "I don't know. He didn't run after me so who knows."
"Great a walking lighting bolt may or may not just kick down my door in the middle of the night." Sting said with a lot of sarcasm.
"He's probably not, after all I have to go back tomorrow." I replied.
"But why? You just got here." Lector whined, "I never get to see you anymore."
I frowned at the poor cat, "I know and I'm sorry but the train takes all day. But I'll be out of here by tomorrow night, promise."
"Just need to clear your head, right?" Sting asked.
I nodded, and the two went back to sleep. I stared at the floor for the next few hours until I fell asleep on the hardwood floor.
It was great seeing everyone at the guild again. Laughing with them and going on a few short, easy jobs with them. I haven't seen them in forever and that beats sitting on this train in the middle of the night.
----
I had arrived back home, holding onto my necklace the whole way back home.
I unlocked the door to see a tried Laxus reading a book.
He looked up and me and I froze, closing the door and pressing my back against it.
He sighed and walked over to me, grabbing my hand to find the necklace he smiled but then frowned.
"Let's just go to bed, okay?" He asked.
I nodded my head and he grabbed my hand that had the necklace in it. Dropping my bag off at the bedroom door I sat the necklace on the dresser and climbed into bed.
It was around midnight and I turned over to see Laxus, still wide awake. He must of heard me move, "what are you gonna do?"
I rested my head on his chest, hearing his heartbeat. "I'm not sure yet. I didn't know if this would turn into a fight that would make me leave forever or what."
"If you want to fight then we can, but in the morning." He replied with a chuckle.
"Did you not leave the house?" I asked.
"Nope, I only moved to get another book, use the restroom and get something to eat. You need more books by the way."
"Why? Why didn't you go on a job?"
"Because I wanted to be here when you came home. I missed you like crazy." He replied.
We laid there in silence for a while until he said, "why do you keeping trying to do this on your own?"
"I'm not, I just need time to think."
"Yeah you are. Let me in, tell me what you're thinking."
I shook my head and buried my head in his chest. He wrapped his arms around me, "it's just getting to be too much?"
"Did Sting tell you that?" I asked, not moving my head.
"Somewhat. He didn't want to tell me everything but he said, 'sometimes things get a little too much for her. Just be there for her.'"
"Thank you." I said.
"Your welcome but now tell me what you're thinking. Please let me in, I want to help you."
I moved my head and rested it back on his chest. "You can't, it's just a me thing."
"I can a least try." He replied.
"I don't want to hurt you, happy?"
He held me tighter, "very because now I know. And I know that if you hurt me it's because we are having a fist fight. Words do hurt but I'll get over it and actions hurt too, but I love you and that won't stop just because of something like this. I knew where you were so I knew that you were safe. Just when you need to run, let me be your escape."
I nodded my head and kissed his lips, "thank you, I love you."
"I love you too. I will make this better, I promise."
