"Would you hurry up already!" I shouted at the top of a hill in the middle of no where. Edward was still half way up. "You run too fast!" He shouted back. "We're running out of daylight!" He checked his watch, "(y/n) it's ten in the morning! How far is this thing?" I smiled and shook my head, "you're gonna have to wait and see!" "That's not gonna make me walk any faster you know!" I rolled my eyes, went down the hill to where he was, and grabbed his hand. "Come on!" I yelled and started running back up the hill, dragging Edward with me. "Stop!" "Not until we get there." I turned to face him.
After about an hour of waking in the woods, I still haven't let go of his hand. "Can you let go now?" He asked. I shook my head and didn't say anything. Edward pouted, "fine." He just let me drag him until we reached the place I wanted to show him.
"We're here." I said. There was this pond in the middle of the woods. It was small but there was a creak right next to it. "This is it?" He asked. "Yep, this can be our get away." He rolled his eyes, "(y/n) we're kids. We don't need a get away." I shook my head, "I mean for later. Like when ever we need to run for a hours hour we can go here. I guess it can be a hideout." I smiled at him. Edward nodded his head, "okay I guess. What do you want to do?" I smiled and laughed. He shook his head, "you really want to make a tree fort?" I nodded. He laughed and we went around looking for branches.

"See! I told you this would came in handy!" I shouted and looked over at Edward. "Yes your childhood dream is finally coming true." I laughed and we continued up the same hill.
"Where do you think your mother went?" He asked. I shrugged, "don't know. Many she went to look for my father." He nodded. We talked about random topics until we reached the same pond and our tree fort. I ran over to it, it was still somewhat standing. "Man, I thought you would hold up more than this." I whispered to no one.
"Uhh, (y/n)," Edward called from the pond. "Yeah?" I answered. "How long have you're parents been gone?" I thought for a moment before walking over to him. "About a week, why-" on the other side of the pond, two bodies were washed up. One hand a bullet through the head. The other, I couldn't tell. I just stood there, I couldn't say anything or move.
Edward dragged me from the ground out of there.
He took me home, well over to our shared house. Well, it's our house now. When Edwards parents died and ran off he lived with us. He had no other family. We burned down his house the day we moved in with us. To hopefully give him some comfort knowing that he could never go back to the way thing were. Not even the house. Nor the room where his unborn little brother would grow up in.
He ate, I didn't. I still haven't said a word, Edward hasn't ether. Until, "what do you want to do?" I looked up at him. "We can't just leave them there. We have to burry them at least." I nodded and said, "I know. I just can't believe they're dead." He came over and pulled me on his chest. "I know. Me too."

We decided to burn their bodies. This way, I couldn't go back. "It's weird." Edward mumbled as we walked back into the house. "What is?" I asked. "Today's the day we burned my house down. I haven't been back since." He answered.
"Yeah, you wanna go back?" I asked. "Yeah, I know I said no going back but-" I put a hand on his shoulder. "I'll get the lamp."
We went back to the burned stack of wood. That's all that was left. "Damn, today is so depressing." He said and tried to laugh. I nodded, "yeah. I hope no one else ever has to go through this." I replied. "Me too."

Marakar
Far from the exploration he yearned to go on, Rae, the Kijah prince, finds himself in the middle of the impending war between Kijah'dar and Ga'ani. Unknown to him, or to the rest of the states, the Kijah Magister plots to overthrow the queen, and he will stop at nothing to achieve his plans. Marakar is a fantasy adventure series about the island states of Mar’narana (with focus primarily on the two states, Kijah'dar and Ga'ani). Tensions between the big players are rising, with more and more plots getting revealed, and powers are unexpectedly shifting. As the string of seemingly unconnected events grows taut, the smaller nations suddenly find themselves into the midst of things, struggling with the sudden shifting of their boards. On a more meta note, I am trying to develop two storylines parallel to each other. As you might have noticed, odd-numbered chapters are very different from even-numbered chapters. That’s because those are the two different storylines; odd-numbered chapters are in the present, while even-numbered ones are in the past. Once the two eventually meet I'll continue with just the present storyline. This story can also be found here where it currently updates every other Sunday (about twice a month). Feedback is greatly appreciated! Thank you for taking the time to read. :) tw/cw list (please take care of your mental health! Don't force yourself to read these chapters if they may harm you). -------> Chapter 14: hate crime description.
