Narrator's POV

"Yeah! Let's go Oliver!" Tony yelled from his lawn chair, watching Oliver kick the ball across the soccer field.

It was the Cubs against the Bandits. The Cubs were in yellow, which was Oliver's team, and the Bandits were in gray.

"There you go Oliver!" Peter cheered as Oliver had just scored a goal. He was sitting next to Tony. It had been a month and a half after Stephen left, and everything was going swell. Tony was getting better.

The coach from the Bandits's team blew the whistle, calling a time out. The two teams huddled around their coaches.

"Was he always this good?" Tony asked Peter.

"Yes actually." Peter answered him. "He's a natural."

"There will be a short intermission." The referee said.

Oliver looked over at Peter and Tony, or so they thought, and ran over in their direction.

"Good job-" Oliver ran past Peter and Tony.

They both turned to see where he was heading. Peter's smile dropped as he saw who was coming.

"Wade!" Oliver said, running into Wade's opened arms. He picked him up.

"Hey bud." Wade smiled at him.

Peter and Tony approached him.

"What are you doing here?" Peter asked.

"I invited him." Oliver said.

"You?" Tony looked at Oliver.

"Mhm." Oliver nodded. "I grabbed the phone sitting on the counter and texted him that I had a game, and it'd be great if he could come and support. I could use the support since Dad's away." Oliver said.

Peter looked from Oliver to Wade.

Tony could sense tension.

"Why don't you come and get something to drink with me while Peter and Wade catch up?" Tony said, stretching his arms out for Wade to hand over Oliver.

"Did you bring apple juice?" Oliver asked, in Tony's arms.

"Of course I did." Tony walked away with him in his arms.

It was quiet between Wade and Peter as they stood there in the middle of a crowd of people. Wade looked at Peter, who didn't look very please. He gave him a small smile and rubbed the back of his neck.

"So...how about this weather?" Wade asked.

Peter looked offended. "The weather? Oh, let's talk about the weather. Hmm, I don't know. How do you feel about the weather?"

"Well it's not bad for a soccer game. It's not too cold, not too hot-" Peter slapped Wade. "Ow, Peter what the hell?" He asked.

"You haven't talked to me in three and a half months, and you want to talk about the weather?" Peter asked, he was angry.

"Well, one of us had to break the ice-"

"Where have you been? You have no idea how worried I've been. I didn't know if you were still alive or lying somewhere in an alley dead-"

"Whoa hol' up." Wade interrupted. "You were worried about me?"

"Yes! You basically disappeared. You haven't been to school, and no one has heard from you. I thought-"

"Aww Petey." Wade smiled.

"Don't you "Petey" me. Your silver tongue isn't working this time." Peter hissed.

"Okay. Okay. Calm down." Wade moved his hands up and down, trying to tell Peter to keep it down. "People are starting to stare." Wade said.

"Oh does that make you uncomfortable?" Peter asked. "Hey everyone, this boy right here-"

Wade covered his mouth and picked him up. "N-Nothing to see here everyone. Just continue watching the game." Wade said, slowly backing away from the crowd that was staring at him. Peter was wriggling in his arms, kicking and punching wherever he could. Wade took Peter behind a tree behind the bleachers. "Ow!" He let go of Peter. Peter moved himself a distance away from Wade. "Did you just bite me?" Wade looked at his finger. "You bit me."

"I don't have time for this." Peter walked away.

"If you won't talk to me now, please meet me at the top of the Empire State Building tonight." Wade said. Peter only kept walking further away from him.

"I didn't think you'd show up after walking away without saying anything." Wade said, sitting down on the edge of the tallest building in New York City. Peter stood a little distance away from him.

"You basically kidnapped me at the game. And now thinking about it, this doesn't seem worth my time." Peter said, turning around. "Now if you excuse me, I have a brother t-"

"Peter wait-" Wade took Peter's wrist in his hand. Peter quickly turned to him and shot webbing into his eyes. "Argh!" Wade put his hands to his face. "It got in my eye. Ow, Peter." He said, walking around with his hands to his face. "It feels like pepper spray." He said.

"Goodbye Wade." Peter said.

"You want to know the real reason Oliver texted me?" Wade asked.

Peter stopped in his tracks to listen to what Wade had to say. He turned around to see Wade had ripped the webbing from his face, leaving red marks on his skin.

"He said his brother was lonely and sad." Wade said. Peter's eyes fell on the ground. "He said he's heard him crying at night, and seen him waiting for a call or a text by his bed side." Wade walked closer to Peter. "He said that his brother hardly wants to do anything anymore. He doesn't eat, or sleep." Wade placed a hand on Peter's shoulder. "Peter, I worry about you. I haven't stopped thinking about you ever since that night. I've been worried sick, and when I got that text from Oliver, I had to come and see you."

A sniffle came from Peter. He rubbed his hand across his eyes, wiping tears that were fixing to fall. "It's just...I couldn't...I felt..."

"Hey, hey...it's okay." Wade rubbed his back. "It's okay. Take your time."

"It's just been really hard without you. Ever since my dad left, Mr. Stark's been acting different. A lot's changed." Peter said. Wade was silent. "You wouldn't understand."

"No, no." Wade spoke. "I do understand. I've been the same way Peter."

Peter looked up at him. "Then why haven't you called or texted me?" He asked. "I would have answered."

"I was scared." Wade's voice grew shaky.

Peter's face grew soft. He had never seen Wade like this before. He listened closely.

"I was so mad at myself for hurting you, that I didn't think you'd want to see me again. It was very hard to not contact you. I ended up withdrawing from school and tossing my phone in the lake to isolate myself from you because I was afraid that I would hurt you." Wade spoke. "I saw the hurt in your eyes that night you hit me. I didn't want to bring that upon you again. And I wouldn't my forgive myself if I ever did." Peter put a hand on his shoulder.

"Wade, you didn't hurt me." Peter spoke softly.

Wade looked up at him. "I didn't?"

"No. You couldn't." Peter reassured. "I was upset. I let the anger go straight to my head."

"So you're not mad at me?" Wade asked.

"Well, maybe just a little bit." Peter gave him a small smile.

"Well that little bit did hurt." Wade said, putting a hand on the cheek Peter had punch.

"Yeah, sorry about that." Peter gave him a nervous smile.

"You have a really strong kick too." Wade said, putting a hand on his stomach.

"Stop. You're making me feel bad." Peter said.

"I had a bruise there for weeks. It kinda looked like the state of Massachusetts." Wade smiled, indicating it was all good.

Peter laughed. "You goof."

Wade smiled, and pulled Peter close. "It's good to see you smiling again."

Peter only laid his head on his shoulder.
