《13 Reasons Why [L.S.]》Tape Seven

"Now, let's move on to some of the smaller, but still very meaningful and hurtful stuff.

Eleanor Calder."

I did expect her to get a tape, because she's just a plane bitch. Eleanor is the type of girl that nobody really likes, but since her father is rich and supports the school a lot everyone pretends to like her. I kind of feel bad for her really, but I understand why people don't like her at the same time. She's very selfish and can seem pretty ignorant some times.

"I know you all know of Eleanor. She's very popular and she's kinda like our local mean girl.

This story is actually from before the whole Taylor thing, but it wasn't as important so I'm putting it out there now.

Eleanor is no doubt a pretty girl, we all know that, but I - funnily enough - wasn't attracted to her. As you all know her father is also very wealthy and has a big influence on most things in this town. One day Eleanor asked me on a date, and since I didn't have either the heart or the guts to say no, I agreed to go to the cinema with her."

I know exactly how he must have felt. Before I came out as gay I also went on dates with girls who asked me because I just couldn't bring myself to say no. What if anyone suspected anything if I kept saying no to beautiful girls?

"So we went and actually had a good time. At least until she leaned over towards the end of the movie to try and kiss me. I think she was expecting me to make the first move since that's the normal thing but of course I didn't want to so she took initiative herself. But when I leaned away when her lips neared me she got offended. Of course she felt embarrassed so she quickly found a way to embarrass me instead. She took my hand, stood up and dragged me out of the movie theater. When we got to the cashier you buy tickets from she told him that I had stolen the ticket I used plus that I had taken another man's wallet. Incredibly enough the cashier immediately believed her and so they had me stay in the cinema for hours and hours. At last they came to the conclusion that they didn't need to call the police, but I had to pay them a good share of money. By then Eleanor had been long gone, never once looking back.

I find it unbelievable that just because another person isn't attracted to you or doesn't want to kiss you, you have to find some way to make their lives a tad bit harder. That's a messed up way to think.

So, Eleanor, you didn't directly hurt me, but that doesn't mean you play any less of a role in the plot of me killing myself. Think of what you do to other people before you do it because every action brings consequences. You didn't know the full story of why I didn't want to kiss you, but the thing is, you didn't care. Because everything has to be revolving you doesn't it? Whether that means hurting other people or finding absurd ways of getting attention."

I know I did expect Eleanor to have done something awful, but I still get equally excited each time I hear what horrible things they've done to Louis. Because he doesn't deserve any of it. He had never as much as hurt a fly. But in today's society it's a very common thing to just expect the worst from everyone else. And especially in places like high schools there exist nothing better than drama. Who cares if somebody gets hurt or becomes the general victim of bullying for the next long period of time - as long ad there's something to gossip about in the girls bathroom.

As you say; When life brings you lemons, find a way to squeeze the juice into someone's eyes.
