It was finally the end of the week and Jessica and I were walking back from Monet's to her house since I was still staying over there. As we walked, we talked about what we should do this weekend.

"Jeff should be getting released soon, so maybe we can just have a chill night at someone's place with the whole gang" Jessica suggested

"I was thinking about that but Jeff would have to get released tomorrow or early Sunday morning so we could all be together and just watch movies or play games" I nodded my head, liking the plan we were coming up with

"Yeah, depending if he even gets the okay to leave the hospital, we could have a very chill calm night or day with everyone and if Jeff needs to stay longer, we can all go over and see him like we've been doing" Jess said

Before I could say anything else, both of our phone buzzed at the same time

I closed my phone and turned to Jessica who had the same questioning and confused look on her face as me

"I guess we're getting our nails done" She said as we turned around and started walking back towards downtown again

"I seriously do not get Jeff sometimes" I laughed

"Same but I needed to get my nails done so might as well get them done now and have him pay for it" Jess shrugged

"Why do you need to get them done?" I asked her

"Cheer competitions start next week and everyone on the squad needs to get their nails done apparently, according to Sheri" She answered "When was the last time you got yours done?" She questioned

"Oof, it's been awhile" I said as I tried to remember "I usually wait until the season is over though" I added

"Oh shit, that's right, playing football with long nails is dangerous" Jess nodded

"Meh, the season is almost over and I'll just get them a bit shorter" I replied

We eventually made it to the nail salon where luckily there were no other customers so we could get our nails done right away. Jessica decided to get a white and pink ombré while I got a simple lilac color.

Somehow Jeff had Venmo us the perfect exact amount of money it took to pay for the both of us

As we started walking back to Jessica's house, a car slowed down beside us and honked its horn, causing the two of us to jump

"Where are you guys heading?" Montgomery's face appeared as he rolled down the window of his car and looked at us

"Montgomery, Jesus Christ" I sighed as I put a hand over my beating heart

"You can't slow down and honk the horn at girls who are walking down the street and then ask them where they're going, Montgomery" Jessica hissed at him

Monty rolled his eyes at us

"Are y'all gonna get in or ??" He questioned

We quickly got in his Jeep and buckled ourselves up

"Can we go to Monet's really quickly?" Jessica asked him

"Didn't you guys go there right after school?" He looked at her

"Yes we did but that was almost like 4 hours ago" She responded

Montgomery sighed and shook his head as a response

"Montyyyyy! Stop at Monet's!" Jessica shreeched as he passed the turn to go into the parking lot of the stripmall where Monet's is located

"I'm parking on the side of the road!" He mimicked her as he parked on the curb

"I'll have a-" Jess started to tell him but he interrupted her

"A hot chocolate, I know" He said "What about you?" He turned to look at me

I opened my mouth to answer but he shushed me

"I'm not letting you get coffee this late" He told me as I pouted

"Fine, I'll take a hot chocolate too" I crossed my arms

As Montgomery left us in the car to go get our orders, Jessica and I decided it would be a good time to text Jeff saying we got our nails done and hopefully get an idea of what is going on

"What the hell is he up to?" Jessica turned from the passenger seat to look at me

"I have no clue" I sighed as I turned my phone off

Before any of us could say anything more, Montgomery opened his door and handed a tray to Jessica

"Thank you, you're the best" She cheesed at him before taking her drink and passing the tray to me

I grabbed my drink as well as Montgomery's

"Moooont?" I leaned forward to give him his drink

"The answer is no" He told me

"You didn't even know what I was gonna say" I pouted "I could have just thanked you for my drink" I added

"Fine, what is it?" He looked at me through the rearview mirror as he started driving again

"Can you pretty please stop at my house really quickly before you drive us back to Jess'?" I questioned him

"Why?" Monty sighed

"Jeff is acting all mysterious and he told us that he was picking us up tomorrow and that we need to look fancy so I need to go pick up a dress, some shoes and my makeup" I answered him

"Why can't you do that tomorrow" He questioned

"Because we'll run out of time" I said "Please, please, please, I'll make it up to you" I begged him

Montgomery agreed and once we had arrived at my house, Jessica and I quickly went in to grab everything we thought I needed for tomorrow

Luckily my parents were both away again so we could get everything without getting interrupted

I grabbed a couple different dresses as well as pairs of shoes while Jessica grabbed all of my makeup and some accessories

Once Montgomery dropped us off at Jessica's, we thanked him for chauffeuring us around before we went inside her house and tried to figure out what Jeff was up to
