《Lucky Kiss Number 13》Chapter 9

✿◕‿◕✿ Tessa's P.O.V
A large blueberry slushie was what I needed right now. After that huge fight I just had with Chasity three hours ago, I hope Drake somehow talks some sense into the naive little brain of hers.
I was getting tired of the tension that was between us, so I decided to finally leave my pride at the door and just talk to her. In the process of my confrontation, I got called an inconsiderate bitch and slapped in the face for not respecting her so called wishes. Therefore Chasity got a jug of lemonade poured all over her.
But I have to admit, I did do my fair share of nasty words.
I don't understand what the hell is going on between me and her. Just a couple of weeks ago I was literally her super hero, now I'm apparently the worst sister in the world. How could have my life gone downhill so quick? First I get expelled, then a bi-polar man I once called father gets released from jail, now my sister all of the sudden becomes a bitchier version of Rochelle.
I wish I had just gone to the dance with Jay tonight, than none of the shit would have had happened tonight.
I slapped four dollars and seventy-eight cents onto the counter before grabbing my slushie and a pack of sour skittles. I pushed the door open, making my way out of the 7-eleven. Home was the last place I wanted to go to now.
If I were ten right now, honestly I would just called mom and tattle on Chasity. Unfortunately I'm old enough to understand about the real world, mom doesn't need any more problems in her life.
As I approached my car, I can see my phone flashing. It wasn't such a smart idea for me either to just leave it in the passenger seat. I mean I could have had been robbed.
Once I climbed into the car, I noticed that I had twelve missed calls all coming from the same number. Keaton's to be exact. Before I got a chance to redial his number, I got another incoming call from him again. Whatever reason he's calling me must be important enough to call me thirteen times. Without any hesitation I quickly answered the call.
"H-hi? Um, is this Tessa?" A very soft feminine voice asked.
"Yea, this is her. I'm sorry but who exactly are you?" I professionally replied instead of my usual sassy remarks.
"Um, I'm sorry. I just didn't know who to call, and well I just really don't know what to do right now. I'm really scared that he's going to hurt himself. I know that you probably don't have a clue who I am, but I just didn't know who to call. And, and he was mentioning your name a lot, and your name is under the important people's list on his phone," the girl on the other line kept rambling, " and I've never seen him his angry before, it's just-"
"Listen, I'm sorry but you are saying a lot of things at once and I really don't have a single clue what you are trying to tell me." I quickly but also politely cut her off.
"It's Keaton, someone did something to really piss him off and now he's on some sort of rampage. I'm really scared Tessa, I've never seen him this angry. T-the anger inside of h-him right now is at a whole n-new extreme," her voice started to crack as I heard sobs coming from the other line.

"I'll be at Keaton's house okay? I'm literally 7 minutes away from his house, just try to stay calm until then." Her crying got more intense before the line went dead.
In all honesty I don't have a single clue on what I should be thinking right now. By the way the girl was explaining to me what was wrong, it didn't seem like anybody was hurt, well not yet anyways. But with a past like mine, you learn to expect the worse out of people.
I on one hand seen to have a tendency to have a poor judgement on people. I mean have you seen my previous opinions on Derek and Chasity? Well look how that turned out. What I once thought were people that I could trust turned out to become a never ending nightmare.
I went over the speed limit, missing stop signs, in desperation of getting to Keaton's house faster. I should be thankful that no kids play on the street in this neighbourhood or I would have surely ran over someone with my road rage driving skills.
Once I pulled into the driveway, I noticed a fairly young teenage girl sitting on the front porch with her head tucked into her knees. She looked up when I slammed my door shut and made my way towards her.
"What's wrong sweetie? Is there something wrong with you? Did Keaton hurt you? Did he get you pregnant?" I was jumping so many conclusions, and deep down inside I wish each and every one of them weren't true.
"Keaton's going to hurt himself soon if no one stops him. Since my older brother and him began fighting this afternoon-please stop my brother's anger." I didn't understand why of all people she would call me and ask for help, surely she could have called someone who's known Keaton longer. Like his mother or something, but I'm not going to turn down someone who asked me for help.
As I walked into the front door, nothing was going I prepare me for what I was seeing right now. At the entrance, you could already see shattered plates and vases knocked out in the ground.
I heard a loud shouting coming from upstairs, I followed the sound up the stairs and stood in front of a door. The door was opened just a tiny bit, I could see Keaton throwing his fist into the wall. His knuckle became all red as blood began to drip. A large visible hole was now in the once perfect blue wall.
"Keaton." I shyly called for him, I didn't know what to expect. I've never seen the worse from him before.
"What the fuck, what are you doing here? Just get out Tessa!" I could see the pain and the anger in his eyes so easily. The same look that I once had, and still have occasionally. His fists were clenched together, but I wasn't afraid.
I probably made the stupidest move right now by hugging him really tightly. He could have had easily flung me off but he didn't, he just stood there stiffly. Keaton had helped me when I needed someone the most, and here I am for him.
"Are you deaf? Why won't you fucking leave?" He hissed into my ear.
"Shhh, don't ruin the moment." I hugged onto him tighter, letting him know that I wasn't going to let go. Eventually he managed to pull me off, he walked away from me and onto the balcony. He pulled out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, he lit the cigarette before taking a puff. This must have been his escape route, like it was my escape route to drink.

“Why are you here Tessa? Nobody ever cares to stay around for this long. Why don’t you just go running like the others?” He questioned me harshly.
“Cause I actually care? Oh and you should try a punching bag, that way you’re not going to bust that hand of yours.”
“You should just leave. People say they care, but deep down inside they don’t. I’m not always going to be Mr. Nice guy. You of all people should know that.”
My lips parted a bit. “W-What do you mean?” I couldn’t put my finger on what he was implying. Was he trying to say he knew something that I didn’t?
“Fuck.” He mumbled under his breath, “Nothing Tessa. I meant nothing.”
“It obviously fucking means something if you said it!” He can’t know my secret, can he? Everyone around me that isn’t family always heard one side of the story. No one ever knew the truth behind the lie.
Everyone thinks Derek went to jail for drugs, everyone thinks my mom divorced him because they were no longer compatible. No one knew about the cheating and abuse, a story that will forever remain untold.
“Calm down Tessa. I was uh, kidding, okay?” There was a light knock on the door, pretty much saving Keaton’s ass for now. It was the girl from the porch. “Keaton, Tessa. Mum wants you guys down for dinner.” She whispered, before running off.
Once we made it down stairs, everything was cleaned up. There were no long shattered glass on the floor, it was like it was never there to begin with. I was keener on finding out what Keaton meant when he said, ‘You of all people should know.’
“Hello sweetheart. I’m Emma, Keaton’s mother. I hope he hasn’t caused you too much trouble.” She was a very beautiful middle age woman, she had a very classy and sophisticated feel to her. Everything about her was perfect, except for the massive bags under her eyes.
“Well, well. Looks like my little brother was able to find a girl who was lasted longer than a week. You must surely me special, maybe I should try you for myself.” I looked up to see a guy that had similar features to Keaton, but I would have never guessed that they would be brothers.
“Fuck off Wes, do I need to beat the crap out of you again?” Keaton jumped right in. Well it looks like Keaton wasn’t living the perfect picture life either.
“Keaton, Wes. Please don’t fight in front of your sister and our guest.” Emma said in a soft and sweet motherly tone.
“Don’t talk to him, don’t touch him, don’t even bother with his existence.” Keaton whispered into my ear.
I never did get Keaton’s sister’s name. I just stared at her, she looked like she was afraid, a type of person that would usually keep to themselves. Once she noticed my glaze, she looked up and said, “I’m Tatiana.” I just simply smiled at her, not wanting to scare her anymore since the whole phone call incident.
“I hope you like salmon Tessa, Keaton here loves it.”
“Thank you very much, I like pretty much anything that is edible.” A wide smile appeared onto Emma’s face showing off her pearly white teeth.
“Oh, really now? Anything edible you say.” I elbow Keaton in the ribs, I can’t believe how dirty minded some guys are. Well it looks like his mood got a lot better.
“Mom, I need you to give it to me tonight.” Wes spoke up from the other side of the table. A slight frown formed on her face, as Keaton started to grind his teeth together he glared at Wes like he was stealing his soul. I’m hoping that me and Chasity don’t turn out this bad.
“Mom, don’t give it to him. He’s twenty-two already, get a god damn job.”
“She can do whatever she fucking wants Keaton. Mind your own god damn business.”
“I am minding my own damn business you asshole. My mother is my business, and I’m not going to let her cry every single fucking night because her retarded oldest son only visits her for money. You don’t even fucking love her, when was the last time you said I love you?”
“Who fucking cares? I’m here aren’t I?”
“You’re here you get your stupid drug and stripper money. That’s the only reason why you ever come. You always come when Dad’s on business trip, cause you know he won’t give you a single dime.”
And the bickering went back and forth, back and forth.
“You’re just fucking mad that your stupid girlfriend in the eighth grade slept with me.”
“I don’t fucking care that you slept with her, it’s not like I was going to marry her. I fucking hate you because you’re messed up, you’re so messed up that you messed up mom. You sent her to the fucking hospital because she almost lost hope, she had to be on fucking suicidal watch for a whole year!” He slammed his palm onto the table, causing some of the food to fly off of his plate.
Streams of tears started to come from Emma’s eyes, while Tatiana had already escaped the crime scene. Keaton looked like he was ready to punch Wes in the face. I couldn’t just sit here and watch anymore. Just as Keaton was about to launch his body onto Wes, I pulled him back. It was difficult since he was stronger than me by a lot, but I managed. I was able to drag him out of the house and onto the porch.
“Let me go Tessa! That sorry excuse of a human being deserves a good beating. Do you know what it is like to see you mother cry every single night, worrying about a son that couldn’t give a damn about her? He uses her like he uses his toys. He leads them on, once he gets what he wants he leaves. That fucking-”
He was saying a lot, I guess I’m going to have to make him shut up somehow. Usually the guy does this, but there’s a first time for everything right? I don’t even know why I’m doing this. His mouth keep moving, but I wasn’t hearing any words coming out since I was to focus on my task.
I stared at him, seeing the anger the glint in his eyes. I took a deep breath. I quickly wrapped my arms around his neck pulling him closer to me. I kissed him gently on the lips, I caught him off guard but he eventually responded. The soft and gentle kiss gradually turned into a deep and passionate kiss. My breathing got heavier, as my heart started to beat faster and faster.
His hand glided down onto my waist, pulling closer to him, to the point where our bodies were pressed up onto each other. His kiss didn’t contained anger and frustration, it was filled with love and lust. I wanted to pull away, but my knees were weak. The way he gently bit onto my bottom lip made me want him more and more.
We eventually pulled away for air, I stared at him for a bit. Admiring him, everything about him made me think about how strong he is. Before I knew it, out lips reconnected again. My hands ran up towards his hair, running my fingers through his soft hair. Our tongues began to explore into each other’s mouth.
God, what was happening to me? When did I become so willingly to kiss him?
I really should stop, but I’m not.
P.S: Oh and for anyone wondering why I'm making Chasity really stupid, and how there fight seem unrealistic. Don't worry, I'm doing it on purpose, you shall see why eventually. :D
