Y/n stares worriedly out the car window at her apartment building.
"Are you sure you'll be okay?" Wilbur asks. "Do you want help with your luggage?"
"I can carry it and...I need to talk to him. Plus it's not like I can avoid him forever," She lets out a short laugh. "He's sort of living in my house,"
"Okay..." He still seems concerned. "Call me if you need anything. I'm serious, I worry about you,"
"I will," Y/n leans over to kiss him on the cheek. "I'll see you later,"
"Goodnight Y/n,"
She flashes him another reassuring smile before sliding out of the car. After giving him a wave and grabbing her suitcase, she hurries into the apartment building.
Truth be told, she was slightly anxious about talking to Tommy after so long of tension between them both. Still, she knew that she had to do it nonetheless. Because, again, he was literally living in her house, and there was no way to avoid him.
Y/n hesitates when she finally finds herself in front of the door, but quickly manages to regain her composure. She lets herself in with her key and is immediately greeted with Bug running up to her.
She smiles happily and scoops him up in her arms. "Hey Bug,"
"Y/n?" Tommy comes out of the office. "You're back..."
"Oh, hey," Y/n sets her cat down and smiles awkwardly. "How have you be-"
She's cut off as he quickly walks to her, throwing his arms around her for a tight hug.
"I'm sorry..."
Y/n lets out a small sigh and hugs him back. "It's okay, Toms...I'm not mad...not anymore at least..."
"Are you and Wilbur still mad at each other...?'

"No we aren't,"
"Are you guys still together...?"
"Yes,"
It's his turn to sigh, this time in relief. "Good..."
"And I'm not going to break up with h- wait what?" She pulls away from him with a skeptical look. "You're not mad either?"
"I thought about it..." Tommy mutters, glancing off. "And I realized I feel better about you guys dating each other instead of dating people I don't really know anyway..."
"Uh...thanks?" Y/n lets out a small, awkward laugh.
"Sorry, that sounded kind of rude," He adds. "What I'm saying is that I was mad for a while, but I think you guys are actually good for each other,"
She feels relief wash over her knowing that she wouldn't need to walk on egg shells around him anymore.
"Thanks Tommy," Y/n ruffles his hair.
"Just as long as you don't take him away from me," He adds, making her stifle a laugh.
"Okay Clingyinnit,"
Tommy punches her in the arm. "I'm not clingy!"
"Yes you are,"
"Am not!"
"Are to!"
He huffs and plops onto the couch nearby. "Am not...Anyway, why did you have to go home,"
"Oh...you know..." Y/n mumbles awkwardly. "Just visiting. Lots of family drama happening with my cousins, so I didn't want to stay too long,"
Tommy doesn't seem to believe her, but he also doesn't pry. "Okay then..."
"I'm gonna go to bed," She continues, picking up her backpack from where she had dropped it on the floor. "The jet lag's killing me. I'll see you in the morning,"
"Goodnight then American,"
"Goodnight child,"
Y/n quickly retreats into her bedroom.
Why couldn't you tell him?...You couldn't tell either of them...

She flops back onto her bed, letting out a heavy sigh as she sinks into the mattress. Suddenly she wished she was back with Wilbur again. Her room was eerily quiet, and the pain in her chest from the anxiety wasn't helping the comfort at all.
Y/n briefly drags herself out of bed to change into her pajamas. When she returns, there's a new message on her phone.
> Wilbur: everything go okay?
> Y/n: thankfully. we're all good now :D
He calls a few seconds after the message sends.
"Are you okay?" Wilbur asks worriedly right away when she answers.
"I'm fine, Wil, don't worry," Y/n laughs tiredly. "Everything went fine,"
"Okay...I just wanted to be sure,"
"The text wasn't enough?"
"No. Also I like talking to you,"
Y/n laughs again while crawling back in bed. "I like talking to you too,"
"What are you doing?" Wilbur continues leisurely.
"Trying to sleep," She rolls over onto her side, leaving her phone on her pillow on speaker to continue talking to him. "What are you doing?"
"Talking to you, but I'll let you sleep-"
"No, you don't have to," Y/n interrupts. "Just...stay a little longer. Talk about whatever you want,"
"Oh, okay," Wilbur pauses for a moment to think. "Well Quackity invited a bunch of us to Jackbox tomorrow night. Phil's gonna be there too which will be funny because he had old-man humor sometimes..."
Y/n smiles softly as he rambles on about upcoming streams and videos. It was relaxing in a way, but maybe that was just the sound of his voice.
She stops paying attention at some point to whatever it was about. Eventually her eyes close and she finally lets herself fall asleep.
