The next few days are a blur. Y/n goes to the funeral, spends time with her family, and tries to keep up the spirits of her relatives. She hated seeing people sad anyway, especially when she could be helping them. It left little time for herself by the end.
Even towards the end of the trip, she had refused to reply to any of Wilbur or Tommy's messages. Phil and Kristin had tried to call her to, but they had gotten the same lack of response. Y/n knew that if she got on the phone with any of them, she would start crying.
Finally though, it's time for her to return to Brighton. There wasn't any reason for her to stay in the U.S. longer anyway. Y/n manages to sleep a bit on the plane this time. Not enough for her to feel rested, but enough to pass the time for a couple hours at least.
She ends up arriving at the airport slightly delayed, not that she cared much anyway at that point. She wasn't really in a hurry to get home by then.
Y/n steps out of customs and out into the main terminal, already missing the rest of her family back home. The feeling of loneliness returns almost instantly upon thinking that.
As she's debating on whether or not she should get a taxi, her phone starts ringing. Y/n stares at Wilbur's name on the phone, debating whether or not to finally answer him. Part of her was still upset, but the other part just wanted him and Tommy back.
However, she thinks on it for too long and ends up missing the call entirely. A small, whispered curse escapes under her breath.
Come on Y/n, suck it up already...
The second she sees him calling again seconds later, she answers it, not giving her nervousness a chance to stop her again.
"Hello-"
But the moment she speaks, the call cuts off. Y/n immediately feels tears pricking in her eyes.
Of course...
"Y/n!"
She does a double-take, not expecting to hear her name being called aloud in the middle of an airport. Who would recognize her there anyway? Y/n looks up from her phone, glancing about to try and figure out who was there. But it turns out Wilbur was actually pretty easy to spot in a crowd because he was so tall.
Wait. Wilbur was there.
"Wil?!" She exclaims.
He runs straight towards her, and Y/n finds herself rushing to meet him halfway. She throws herself into his arms, finding her anger melting away the instant she's with him again.
"I'm sorry..." Wilbur says immediately. "I'm so sorry..."
Y/n chokes back a sob, muffling it by hiding her face in the crook of his shoulder. At that moment she didn't care, she was just glad that he was hugging her thank that he didn't seem mad.
They both stand there in the middle of the airport. Wilbur rubs her back gently as she cries a week's worth of restrained tears, neither of them try to move away.
"I-I...I missed you..." Y/n croaks out, her voice barely audible. "But...why...?"

"I'm so sorry," He finally pulls away, his hands resting on her shoulders. "I'm sorry Y/n. I was so focused on trying to keep Tommy that I let you go in the process. I never wanted to hurt you, I promise,"
"Okay..." She mumbles hesitantly, putting her hands over his to hold onto them. "How did you know I was here...?"
"Tommy said that you told him then you were coming back in your note," Wilbur says. "He wanted to come too, but Phil thought it would be better if he hung back for now. He's back in Brighton,"
Y/n nods and wipes the rest of the tears from her face. "T-Thank you for coming..."
"Of course," His voice is a bit awkward. "Ready to go home?"
She lets out a short laugh. "Yeah...we're talking more later though..."
"Okay,"
Hand-in-hand, they walk out of the terminal. Y/n feels herself slipping into the same fog that had blurred her travel day as they do. Her lack of sleep was catching up on her again. Before she even realizes it, they're at the car.
"Are you okay?" Wilbur asks when he notices her daze.
"I-I'm fine...just tired..." She gives him a drowsy smile. "I'll probably just fall asleep on the way home,"
"My place is closer if you just want to head there instead," He offers.
"Okay,"
Y/n doesn't remember what had happened after that. She only comes-to again when Wilbur is gently shaking her awake after they've arrived at his building.
"We're here," He tells her softly.
She gets out of the car. The sky is pitch, but the lights in the city make it seen less dark.
Wilbur takes her hand again to lead her inside. Y/n stumbles after him a bit, still half-asleep from before. The next thing she knows, she's being hit with the warmth of his apartment.
"Go and lay down, I'll go grab your bag," Wilbur says, already turning to leave the room again. But she doesn't process his words until he's already left.
She makes a beeline for the couch, basically dropping herself onto it once there. Even though it wasn't the most comfortable, she quickly finds herself being pulled off to sleep again just because it was a soft surface in a more comforting environment.
However, just before she manages to drift off again, Y/n feels someone gently rubbing her shoulder to stir her awake.
"Wrap your arms around my neck, N/n,"
She does as she's told and wraps her arms around Wilbur's neck. He lifts her up, keeping ahold of the undersides of her legs for support as he carries her off somewhere. She didn't know where, and frankly she didn't care at that point.
He puts her down on a much more comfortable surface, which Y/n decides must be a mattress after a moment. She doesn't let go of him once he tries to pull away from her.
"You've gotta let me up," Wilbur chuckles.
"Stay here..."
"I'll be back in a minute, don't worry," He assures her. "I just need to get something,"

Reluctantly, Y/n lets go of him, feeling momentarily cold without him close to her.
Despite feeling exhausted, she tries to keep her eyes open until he comes back. Wilbur finally returns after a moment of shuffling noises in the background. He sits on the edge of the bed near her.
"Here,"
Y/n sits up and takes the sweater and sweatpants he's holding out to her.
"I just thought the they would be more comfortable,"
"Thanks," She stretches her arms out before rising to her feet. Y/n changes in the bathroom before coming back out and flopping down beside Wilbur in bed.
He rolls over onto his side and pulls her close against him. She closes her eyes yet again, savoring the feeling of warmth and the comfort of being there in his arms. Finally, after over a week of stress, Y/n felt safe.
The last thing she remembers is Wilbur kissing her forehead before she finally slips off to sleep.
-
She doesn't know how long she slept for, but she also didn't care considering her lack of sleep from before. By the time she does wake up it's already light outside.
Y/n lays in bed for a while longer before realizing that she was alone in bed and that Wilbur must have gotten up already. It left her feeling cold again
Traitor...
With a blanket wrapped around her shoulders, she lumbers out of the room to try and figure out what had happened to him. It doesn't take her long though to find him out in the kitchen attempting to cook.
Emphasis on attempting. Y/n runs over and turns the stove down when she realizes that his eggs are burning.
"Oh- I forgot about those," Wilbur admits with a worried look at the burnt pan. "Sorry. I didn't wake you up or anything, did I?"
"No. But pay attention next time, okay?" She tells him alongside a sigh of relief. After checking the stove clock she then adds. "It's almost 1 in the afternoon already. Why are you making breakfast?"
"I didn't think it would end up this way," He replies while dumping the burnt eggs in the trash can. "Uh...I guess we're having sandwiches,"
Y/n smiles in amusement, but she grabs his hand and tugs him back in the direction of the bedroom. "Come back...it's cold,"
Wilbur chuckles and pulls her into a hug. "Okay then,"
They move to the couch. Y/n curls up beside him while he pulls a blanket over them both. She can feel herself drifting off to sleep again almost immediately in his arms, but his occasionally shifting and fidgeting ends up keeping her awake.
"Are you asleep...?" He mumbles after a while.
"No..."
"Can we talk now...?"
Y/n lifts her head from his shoulder and nods slightly. "Why didn't you answer my calls?"
"I didn't answer anyone's calls," Wilbur confesses, glancing off as he does. "I was afraid of confronting you, Tommy, even Phil if he happened to know what was happening and call,"
"I thought you we mad at me," She pulls the blanket closer to herself. "I shouldn't have pressed you into agreeing to tell Tommy about us..."
"It's not your fault. I agreed to it and he needed to know anyway," He says. "When he got angry I panicked. I didn't want to lose my little brother. But I was so worried about avoiding everyone that I forgot I was avoiding you too,"
"I called you like, 20 times..." Y/n murmurs with a grain of salt.
"I know..."
"You ignored me for almost a week,"
"I'm so sorry, Y/n..." Wilbur cups her face in his hands. She hadn't even realized that she was crying until he wipes a few tears away with his thumbs. "I never wanted to hurt you. Ever. I love you too much to do that,"
Y/n's eyes widen slightly, and his do too when he seems to realize that he had just said.
"Oh- I didn't mean to-" He quickly recomposes himself. "Actually, yeah I did. I do mean it. I love you Y/n,"
She chokes back a sob, which seems to worry him when he notices.
"Y/n-"
Y/n cuts him off by wrapping her arms around his neck. Her face nuzzles into the crook of his shoulder.
"I love you too..." Her voice is slightly muffled, but audible anyway. Wilbur holds her tightly with one arm, using the other hand to gently rub her back as she cries softly.
Y/n was tired. Not as much physically anymore since she had slept, but the emotional exhaustion was letting itself out. She was tired of hiding the pain and the tears from everyone.
She cries there in his arms for longer than what felt like necessary. Wilbur doesn't say anything, other than the occasional soft shushing, nor does he move to let go or push her away.
"Do you want to go back to bed...?" He finally asks her quietly after she's calmed down a little.
"N-No...I-I'm fine..." Y/n lies.
"You're not," Wilbur tells her bluntly. "How about I make us both lunch, then we can watch a show or movie? We can just stay here for the rest of the day,"
She sniffles softly before giving a nod. "O-Okay..."
He finally moves away from her, only to kiss her forehead and flash her a goofy smile. "What do you want to watch this ti-"
Y/n cuts him off by leaning back in and pressing her lips against his. At first she panics, thinking that it was the wrong decision. But Wilbur just tightens his hold around her and smiles into the kiss.
She pulls away and immediately hide her blushing face in the crook of his shoulder again. He just chuckles before kissing the top of her head.
"Do you still want sandwiches?" He asks with amusement obvious in his tone.
"Mhm..."

Polly and Drake
Drake has been searching for a job as a personal guard, but wherever he turns, he is kicked out without fail. It's not that he's terrible with weapons, or inattentive.
