The boxes turned up in the morning,
already waiting outside of the door for you in the hallway to the apartment complex.
He just had no idea where they had come
from or who they were for because
you hadn't told him yet.
"Ugh...
doll?"
He raised an eyebrow at the sight,
checking the expensive watch
on his wrist for the time,
somewhere he had to be in twenty minutes
but he had to deal with this first.
"Daddy?"
You followed him out into the hallway,
freezing suddenly when you realised
what was happening.
"Do you know what the fuck these are for?"
He asked you.
"I didn't order anything"
"Maybe they had the wrong address...."
You trailed off into a short silence,
trying to think of something convincing
to say but it was already too late.
"Nah"
He scoffed,
checking the address on one of the boxes.
"It's the right zip code
and it has my fucking door number on it,
little girl...
did you order this shit?"
"Well..."
You sighed softly,
standing there in your cute little pyjamas,
too early for you to bother with getting dressed
and he was always the first
one out of the house anyway.
"What did I tell you about using
my fucking card huh?"
He snapped,
intense blue eyes staring back at you.
"You went in my office again?
You keep buying all this shit,
there's nowhere to fucking put it.
You ordered twenty dolls last week.
You didn't learn ya lesson from the last time?"
"But daddy"
You breathed out.
"I didn't go into your office.
It was a mistake"
"How is it a fucking mistake if ya have
to type in the card number hm?"
He questioned you,
rolling his eyes at your innocence,

the fact that you could think
he would ever believe you.
"What the fuck did ya buy this time?"
Not even letting you respond,
he took out a knife from his jacket,
tearing through the tape and opening up the box
to reveal all of the toys you had bought overnight,
endless dolls and stuffies,
slime kits and a hundred other things
you didn't need.
"This is a fucking joke,
Ya know that?"
He told you harshly,
dropping the items back into
the box without care,
making you pout as he brushed past
you harshly to get back into the apartment.
"Does that mean I can keep them?"
You asked him curiously
but he didn't answer you
and you figured that it meant you could,
dropping onto your knees to sift through
the boxes in excitement.
"Yay!"
