A saddened look on your face,

you climbed onto his lap in his office,

fresh tear stains on your little cheeks

as he chuckled lowly.

You had been sulking all day,

finding your pet bunny unresponsive that morning,

crying in small bouts because it felt so surreal.

He was your best friend.

"What's wrong with you hm?"

He stubbed out the cigarette he had been

smoking before you came in,

his hand falling onto your back and resting

there as you stayed quiet,

laying your head on to his chest,

looking at him with empty eyes.

"Mr snuffles is gone daddy"

You whispered quietly.

"And now I don't have a best friend anymore"

"Daddys gonna get you another one,

my little angel"

He cooed at you,

kissing your forehead roughly.

"Don't worry about it huh?"

"Do you think mr snuffles is in heaven daddy?"

You asked him curiously.

"He could be very naughty sometimes

but I don't think god would send him to hell

for something so little,

do you?"

"No"

He smoothed his hand over your forehead,

an amused grin forming on his mouth.

"He's in heaven doll"

"Can we have a funeral for him in the back yard?"

You breathed out.

"And we can have flowers and

only wear black and

make a little burial for him with a shoe box?"

"We can do whatever ya want baby girl"

He kissed your head again

a soft smile forming on your mouth,

the first one that day.

"Daddy cares about you so much,

ya know that?"

"My daddy loves me"

You insisted.

"He just doesn't say it very often"

"That's right"

He smirked.
