"Daddy!"

You screamed in excitement,

rushing the down the stairs and towards

the front door,

hearing it close moments earlier after

he had been out of town for two weeks on

what he told you was business.

"There's my little bunny"

He grinned as you ran into his arms,

burying your head into his chest.

"Look daddy!"

You took his hand in your little one,

showing him the banner you had hand

painted and managed to messily

tape to the bannisters.

"Welcome home daddy?"

He raised an eyebrow,

a chuckle leaving his mouth.

"You'd think I was gone for months huh?"

"I got cheesecake and candy

and ice cream and-"

"You left the house by yourself?"

He searched your face.

"It was really scary but I took mikey with me!"

You smiled at him toothily,

taking your favourite stuffie into your

hand to show him.

"That's fucking incredible huh?"

He played along with you,

making you giggle softly.

"Can we watch the movies I picked out now?"

You asked him.

"What?"

He looked at you.

"The movies daddy"

You furrowed your eyebrows.

"You said I could choose some movies to watch when you got home..."

"Oh doll.

Daddys busy baby.

Maybe later hm?"

He kissed your forehead roughly,

leaving you standing there with

the balloons and the food,

the movie intro paused on the television

screen behind you in the living room.

"Guess we're on our own mikey"

You sighed softly.
