"What the fuck happened to her?"
He looked to his men
as you cried softly,
blood trickling down your knee.
"She just fell over on the pavement,
cracked her knee on the edge"
One of his men told him.
"It's no big deal Jack"
"No big deal?"
He scoffed.
"You're supposed to be fucking
looking out for her.
Where the fuck were you huh?"
"We were right there"
One of his men tried to reason with him.
"I don't know how it happened.
One minute she was right behind me,
the next she was bleeding"
"Get the fuck out"
He hissed,
kneeling down in front of you,
gripping your face in his hand.
"You good baby girl?"
"I'm okay daddy"
You sniffled.
"It's hurts"
"I know sweetheart"
He cooed,
one of his men placing a first aid kit
on the side of the couch before leaving
the room again.
"Daddy's gonna make it better hm?"
Nodding gently,
you winced as he touched your knee
to get a better look at the damage.
"Nothing a little glue can't solve"
He told you lowly,
taking some antiseptic, gauge and the
medical glue from the green box.
"What were ya doing huh?
You need to be careful baby"
"I wasn't paying attention"
You answered him quietly,
the wound stinging every time he wiped
it with the antiseptic,
squeezing a small amount of medical glue
into the cut and pressing your skin together
so it would dry that way before wrapping
it in a bandage.
"There we go...
Perfect"
He stood up,
kissing your forehead roughly.
"Don't do that shit again alright?
I fucking hate it when ya cry"

Vendor of Spirits
A warlock once made a pact with the Powers Above. He snuck in a clause that resurrected him whenever he died, with all his memories intact. He lived for thousands of years in a hundred different bodies, changing the world into a dystopian regime where he could freely pursue his passions: alcohol, television and ducks. This made the Powers Above very angry, so they erased his memories and reincarnated him as a simple barmaid in a sleepy village where she could do no harm. I don’t know any of this, of course. I just find it very annoying that she’s chosen me to tag along with.
