《Ephemera | poetry》| When You left me at Dawn |

This warm sunlight burns my skin ; leaving ashes on my hands ; the very same hands where you kissed me Goodbye.

~S

Is this a nightmare,

Or a curse from the stars,

When you became my lifeline;

Just to cripple my heart,

I can't hold these marigolds,

These farewell flowers,

That dusk left me lifeless;

Our fantasy tore me apart,

This gold-dripped rooftop,

On whose edges I , now, stand,

The wind howling in my ears;

The sun stinging my glance,

This dawn in my life,

Drowns me in blue rims,

Pulling me deep into the waves;

With no surface to swim,

Those law-laced norms,

That we promised to escape,

You left me chained in them;

At this violent day-break,

Those red-inked parchments,

Our leather-bound notes,

You burnt them to nothing;

Leaving me hiding from hope,

It was into the wilderness,

Of those grain-kissed lands,

We were to rebel together;

But you buried me in sand,

You blinded me to happiness,

Lost in mountains so afar ; for,

Since the day you left me at dawn;

All my galaxies have been dark.
