《Burning Moths》Tala: Lover's Lament

You've set aside a cavern in your mind

Where my body rests, memorialized,

Never changing, never aging

Since the day we said goodbye.

In desperate dreams you reach for me

When the tender touch of true maidens

Cannot wipe the memories of me away

No matter how deep you plow the field

Long nimble fingers pluck taut strings

Old visions of me flash like lightning

With a husky groan, you dig into soft,

Velvety flesh, imagining it's truly mine.

You chant my name in rhythmic silence

It echoes in the chamber where you lay,

Hidden from all but our united souls,

Safe within the confines of my mind.

"Feel that? Feel me? Do you? Tell me!"

Gravel rumbles in your parched throat.

Breathless, you squeeze your eyes shut

Neither fiery locks nor pale blue eyes

Quenches thirst that burns, burns, burns.

"Burn for me, my love. Burn bright!"

Every nerve ignites for a blissful moment

Smell the acrid scent of burning wings

Pleasure mixed with pain as we fall,

A mess of entangled limbs and hearts.

The vision ends and I'm alone once more.

Never once have our bodies touched,

And yet our souls remained intertwined

Though we stay bitter enemies to the last.
