《Mafia's Errand boy (Mxb)》Chapter 2: My new home

"You'll be staying here from now on." Leonard explained, walking into a neat looking room. "It hasn't been used in years, and is isolated from the rest of the rooms." He continued, glancing at me.

I nodded and looked around. It did look quite comfortable. "So tomorrow you will wake up at 7:30. You'll have to prepare breakfast, then you'll transition to laundry. After, you'll have some alone time with the boss, as he will give you certain small jobs such as reporting a message."

I yawned in boredom but listened, nonetheless. "Do you understand?" He asked, raising one eyebrow. I hurriedly nodded and he started to leave.

"Oh, and just to let you know, if you ever escape, you won't get far. And you won't get off easily." He warned before walking off.

Well shit.

I sat on the bed and brought my knees to my chest. Why did I always have such bad luck? To be born with such a useless dad was a curse that was made before I was even born. Oh dear mother in heaven, why did you marry such a man?

I stood up and decided to search the room a bit, to keep myself from getting bored. But as I walked around, I saw a full-body mirror and couldn't help noticing how trashy I looked. My brown hair was messy and looked as if I had just woken up. My eyes were a bloodshot red, with my dull eyes complimenting it in a bad way.

"Hmm... so they were telling the truth. Another worker, ogling himself in the mirror." Some random voice said. I looked around me and saw a tall man standing at the doorway.

"Uh, I was.... examining the mirror..." I covered up, scratching my head, which I did when I lied. The man shook his head and walked towards me. He put out his hand and smiled. "I'm Lamia. Nice to meet you."

I awkwardly grabbed his tough hand and shook it. "Caspian." I replied.

Lamia laughed. "Can't believe the boss has taken in such a young soul. He usually would only let skilled members on the field."

I shook my head. "Oh no, I'm just an errand boy." I clarified, awkwardly smiling. He smiled back before nodding.

"That explains a lot."

I gave him a weird look. He was being kind of unnoticeably rude. "And I do have some skills." I said, annoyed that everybody belittled my hard work, even if they haven't seen it.

"Well, I have to go back to training, so see you around?" He asked, grinning. I nodded and he left, finally leaving me alone.

"Why did he even come in here?" I asked myself. If that was his idea of a first impression, it stunk.

I finally grew bored of the small room and decided to explore out of this small room. And since I was basically given permission to venture, I though it'd be alright.

I walked randomly, turning when there was something interesting I saw, but then I got lost. Well I already was lost. This was the first time I actually acknowledged it.

Where the hell am I?

Then a door opened, and another tall and muscular guy stepped out. "Oi, do anyone of you morons recognize this kid?" The man asked, looking at me, then behind the door. Two more heads popped out and they all stared at me.

"Hmm.... is it that new guy the boss told us not to touch?" One suggested. They all thought about, then nodded. "Probably."

"Welcome to this hellhole." One said, smiling. I stared at him for a while before nodding.

"Oh, let's introduce ourselves!" Another shouted, smiling brightly at me.

"Good idea!" The last one said, laughing.

"Ok, my name is Clay. I'm 24, and I specialize in weapon combat." The youngest of the group said. His hair was a dark red, and his eyes were strangely amber.

"I'm Hunter, and I specialize in hand-to-hand combat. I'm probably the strongest here though, and I'm 26." The man with the dyed green hair said, wrapping his arm around my shoulder.

"Ehehe, nice to meet you two..." I replied awkwardly. They smiled and the last one began to introduce himself. "I'm Al, I'm 25 and I specialize in bombs and dynamite. Nice to meet cha." He said happily. I smiled politely, secretly scared of this strange group.

"So, what's your name?" Clay asked.

I shrugged. "Caspian." I replied, looking at my shoes. "You're kinda young to work here." Al commented, eyeing me.

"Oh, watch out for that snake by the way." Hunter warned, looking around us. I gave them a confused look. "Snake?" I asked.

They all nodded. "His name is Lamia. And he's a pain in the ass. All he does is criticize our work and tries to sabotage us! Don't trust him!"

I nodded and took a step back. "I'll remember that." I said, a little weary. This was one weird group of people.
