"Kim?"
"Hey, Kim. You there?"
"What's going on? Is she waking up?"
"Give her some space guys."
"Kim."
Doing a simple thing such as opening my eyes was the most difficult task at the moment. My eyelids felt so heavy and I'm not sure why.
The voices around me sounded distance. As if I were in a dream. My eyes kept fluttering in attempt to open them completely. After a couple tries, I succeeded.
I was able to make out a few figures with my blurry vision. They were all looking at me. My eyesight ever so slowly was coming back to me but still none of it made sense.
Once everything was clear, I took this opportunity to check out my surroundings. Almost everything around me was white. I looked down and I saw that I was in a bed that wasn't my own. To the left was another bed just like mine but no one was in it. I blinked a few more times to see if this were real.
Am I in the hospital?
My heartbeat increased slightly. Glancing toward the figures, I felt a wave of relief. Standing beside my bed were Jason, Billy, Zack, and Trini. I gave them a small smile but soon furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. I wasn't supposed to be here. This couldn't of happened again.
"Kim?" Trini spoke softly.
"What am I doing here?" I asked.
The emotion on each of their faces was unreadable. It was difficult to guess what they were thinking. They looked like a mixture of surprised and sad.
"You got hurt, Kim." Jason announced while rubbing my arm gently.
"How did I get hurt?"
"We have no clue. That's the point." Zack answered.
"I do not understand." I said a chewed on my bottom lip.
"We don't exactly either. No one knew where you guys were. Only Zack said he found Trini and you at his doorstep." The Red Ranger noted.
"Again? That happened already."
Trini shot me a look of pure confusion and moved to sit on the side of the bed. I noticed some scars on her face that looked strangely fresh. I reached out to stroke one of the scars lovingly but the confused look still on her face made me stop.

"Kim, do you know where you are?" She asked.
"I'm in the hospital."
"Yeah, do you know what happened?"
"Yes, we got hurt but then we were released the next day. Somehow, I'm here again."
"Kimberly." Trini spoke with such worry and fear it caused me to put all my attention on her.
"What Trini? Is everything ok?"
"Um, you were never released."
"Yes, I was." I pointed to Zack. "Then Zack told me to go to a party and you were there. Then we were training in the pit but you left for some reason. We talked on the big rock."
"Can we get the doctor in here?" Jason cracked open the door enough to stick his head through and yelled.
"Why do you need the doctor?"
"Because you never left the hospital."
"But that-"
Before I was able to ask anymore questions, the doctor bursted through the door. The same doctor with the emerald green eyes. The others parted while he took long steps to get to me.
"Miss Hart."
"Yes."
"What is my name?" He asked.
I looked into his eyes. They were so familiar. I knew his name it was on the tip of my tongue. But I couldn't remember.
"I don't know." I responded and he scribbled something down on his notepad.
"So what's going on?" The man interrogated me. "How much do you remember?"
"Uhh..." I struggled with my words. I swallowed the lump in my throat and took a deep breath. "I never left the hospital did I?"
The doctor shook his head no.
I locked eyes with the Yellow Ranger, my vision blurred once again but this time due to tears.
"Then how do I know?"
"How do you know what, Miss Hart?"
"Can everyone leave? Please? Everyone but Trini." I pleaded.
With a few worried glances, the other Rangers left the hospital room. The man with the green eyes looked at Trini and then to me with no emotion. He simply nodded his head and followed the other boys out.
When I realized it was just the Yellow Ranger and myself in the room, I began to panic. A rapid beeping near

my right ear caused me to jump. Looking over my shoulder, I see the machine which monitors my heartbeat. Trini must've noticed my discomfort. She strode to the other side of my bed and checked the machine to switch it off. When she couldn't find it, the Latina groaned and ripped the chord out of the socket, and shutting down the machine.
Walking back to her previous position on the edge of the bed, she shot me a look of concern. "What's on your mind?"
I picked at the tips of on my fingers, becoming suddenly interested in them. So many things were on my mind. I didn't know where to start. "I don't know how to begin." I answered honestly.
She raised her eyebrows and nodded. "Understandable. Whatever comes to your mind first just say it."
I could open up to her about my confusion. About how I could've sworn I had been released. When in reality I had been stuck in a coma. Or when I told her I love her. I knew that wouldn't settle well. I would have to ease into it, knowing her. I could tell her about the "talk" that we had in my dream. Which wasn't real... But I could try it anyway. There were so many decisions. I wanted to choose the one that was least horrible. My mouth said otherwise.
"I know about your father."
Bad decision.
Her tanned skin turned pale and her chocolate orbs had constricted. I saw the smaller girl gulp and clench her jaw in what I assumed was fear.It took her a solid sixty seconds to have the ability to preform a coherent sentence.
"How do you know? And how much?" She spoke, her tone had a trace of anger. I couldn't blame her.
"You told me... In my dream." I began slowly. "My mind could be playing tricks on me and this might not be true but he called you "Trin", yes? He struggled to take care of you. When you had to leave because of the foster system, you never got to say goodbye. Is that correct?"
"So you were able to hear me?" She asked instead.
"What are you talking about?"
"I told you that right here while you were still in a coma. I visited you every day." The Yellow Ranger looked down and sniffled.
"I guess the information was made in the form of a dream." I gave her a sad smile. "Have we found out who hurt us yet?"
"No, not yet."
"I love you." I blurted out.
Trini met my eyes and smiled. A real genuine smile. "Did you tell me that in your dream?"
"Yes, I did."
"And what did I say?"
"You told me you weren't able to say it. To anyone actually. It hurt too much." I answered remembering our conversation.
"That's partially true, yes. I knew I wasn't ready and it did hurt." She took my hand and stroked the back with her thumb gently. "But now, not so much."
"I love you, Kim."
I grinned and squeezed her hand. "You are amazing." I said slightly above a whisper.
"Not as much as you. I say we get out of here as soon as possible and go get some donuts." She suggested.
"Sounds good. It shouldn't be too long right?"
"No, Derick said you should be out soon."
I mentally slapped myself. "Derick! His name is Derick..."
The Yellow Ranger giggled. It was music to my ears. "Yeah, his name is Derick."
I smiled and lifted her hand to my lips giving her a soft kiss.
All of a sudden I became confused and almost had a panic attack. If I were still connected to the heart monitor, it would've exploded.
Trini -like she always does- sensed something was wrong. "Kimberly? What's going on?"
I stared at her. "So, um... We didn't... uhh." I pointed back and forth between be a her. "We didn't go to a party?"
"No, you were in the hospital... Please don't tell me your memory failed." She whispered.
"Oh, no no no. My memory is fine... I was just making sure cuz, um, well..." I scratched the back of my neck. "Ok I guess it didn't happen."
"What didn't happen?" Her confused face is so adorable.
"Nothing. Just something weird happened in the dream. That's all." My words came out in short bursts as I felt my cheeks grow warm.
"Ok then..." She chuckled. "I'll get Derick. Let's get you out of this damn hospital."
