"I can beat you at anything."
"Oh, please. That's so not true."
"But I can."
"Is that a challenge?"
"Only if you want it to be."
"Since when did Kimberly Hart get so egotistical?"
"I'm very competitive."
"You're very annoying. That's what you are."
"I know you don't believe that."
"Maybe I do."
The shorter girl sat on my bed next to me. We were playing cards when I blurted out knowing I would win. The friendly game of cards turned into full out competition of us naming things we could do better.
"Sparring. That's something you can't deny."
The Yellow Ranger scoffed. "You distract me. That's the only reason I lose."
"Why are you so distracted then?"
"You already know the answer to that."
"Hm... I don't think I do. Why don't you explain?"
"I'm much stronger than you." She blurted out.
"I'm faster." I placed my cards down and stood up from the bed.
"I'm smarter." The Latina did the same and was soon in front of me.
I stepped forward. "I can take out 10 Putty Patrollers in one move."
She took a step back. "Oh, yeah? 20."
I took another step. "30."
She took another step back. "40."
I stepped forward one more time making the Yellow Ranger back into my closed bedroom door. "50."
Her face was just inches away. "Anything you can do, I can do better." She growled a little above a whisper.
I chuckled. "Do I make you, Trini Kwan, nervous?"
"Of course not." She shot back.
I moved a littler closer to the Latina, our torsos touching. "If it were the three other Rangers plus you against me... I would beat all of you." I whispered.
"I bitch slapped Rita Repulsa into space." She breathed out, her warm breath grazed my lips.
I smirked knowing the effect I had on the other girl. "I think you are a bit nervous, huh? You have no where to go either."
"You haven't even pinned me. I could easily switch our places and you'd be the one struggling." Her voice was low and calm. "Like is said before, I'm stronger than you."
"I could hold you back. Not to mention my body is pressed against yours... That doesn't help your situation, does it?" I placed both of my hands on either side of the shorter girl's head.

"I bet I could manage." Trini shrugged. "Besides, escaping from you're entire body on mine wouldn't be too difficult."
"But you do realize there is one certain body part that isn't touching."
"Show me, then."
"Gladly..."
I immediately took her bottom lip in mine. Her hands rushed to my waist and pulled me impossibly closer. Her tongue swiped across my bottom lip asking for entrance which I accepted with no hesitation. Before shoving her tongue in my mouth, she quickly switched our positions and pressed me into the door causing me to moan slightly.
Our tongues fought for dominance and she soon won. She grazed my teeth and the roof of my mouth. My hand cupped the back of her neck and the other tangled in her hair. Her hands slid under my shirt and hugged my lower back. By this time, we were perfectly in sync, blocking out everything except our slow and passionate kiss.
"Kim..."
"Hmm?"
"Kim!"
"What..." I groaned and sat up glancing at my surroundings.
I was still at Billy's and woke up from Trini's lap. The three other boys stood in the kitchen and wiggled their eyebrows at me smirking. I rolled my eyes and turned to sit properly on the couch. I looked over at the Latina and saw her cupping the back of her neck.
"Ow... My neck is so sore." She groaned. "That was not the best position to fall asleep in."
"Sorry." I chuckled.
"Nah, you're good." She assured.
"Yeah, I bet she was." Zack spoke up.
"Just shut up..." Jason said.
"What time is it?" I asked.
"It is... 9:15." Billy checked his watch.
"Nope. Too early." I mumbled and laid back down on the Yellow Rangers lap.
"Oh, no you don't. "Trini squirmed from under me. "My legs are numb. That's partially the reason I woke you up."
I lifted my head and pouted. "But I was comfortable."
"I think you should get up. We both need to actually." She stood up and went into the kitchen with the others.
"What's for breakfast?" I asked standing up making my way to the kitchen.
"Cereal, cereal, and more cereal." Billy chuckled.
"Got it. I'll have cereal then." I said choosing which kind I wanted and poured it in a bowl. "How long have you guys been up?"
"Just got up." Zack replied.

"About an hour ago." Jason took a spoonful of his breakfast.
"20." Trini said making me choke on a bite.
"Woah, you okay?" Jason asked worried.
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"All night."
"What, Billy?" The Latina questioned.
"I was up all night." He shrugged.
"What? Why were you up all night, Bud?" Jason studied the Blue Ranger's face.
"I watched a lot of the movies. You all were out in the very first."
Zack chuckled. "When did you two go to bed?" He pointed to me and Trini.
Trini rolled her eyes. "Don't know. Near the end of the movie."
"Just stop, Zack. Please?" I said.
His smirk plastered on his face turned into a serious expression. "Yeah. Sorry."
I nodded. "Thanks."
The four of us ate our breakfast in silence, listening to Billy talk about all the movies he watched last night. Which were a lot. He told us about the characters, the plot, what bothered him, and what they "got wrong". It was pretty funny to see him ramble on so much, giving us every little detail. Once he finished, we put our bowls in the sink and cleaned up the space.
"We should get going." I said and walked over to Trini.
"We?" She asked.
"Yeah, let's go to my place. It's boring not having you around."
"Ok, sure." She gave me a genuine smile which made my stomach flutter.
We stared in to each others eyes for a little longer than intended. Jason was busy talking to the Blue Ranger and Zack struggled to keep in a smirk or comment.
We broke away and said our goodbyes before heading to my house. Once we arrive, all we did was sit on my bed and talked. I didn't mind a bit. I loved hearing her talk. Especially if it's something she's passionate about. She would ramble on and would list the reasons why this or that was correct.
Somehow, after hours of talking, we got to the topic of dreams. We took turns speaking about our weirdest or creepiest dreams. It hurt me a whole lot when most of her dreams were nightmares. It revealed how alone and scared she was. She doesn't give it to me straight forward but I think I'm putting the pieces together.
"I actually had a dream about you..." I told her.
"And?"
"Me..."
"Doing?"
"Uh... Stuff." I said quite slowly.
She raised an eyebrow and smirked. "Oh, yeah?"
"It's not the 'stuff' you're thinking about." I replied knowing what popped up in her mind.
"No?"
"Yeah."
"What happened?" She asked knowingly.
I gulped. "We were... playing cards."
"Then."
"We were trying to one up each other by saying what we did better."
She stood up on my side of the bed.
"And then?"
I stood up in front of her just like in my dream. "We were standing... Just like this. The argument was still going on while I backed you into the door."
She took a few steps back without looking away from me and I followed. She came in contact with the open door and slowly closed it. I stood a inches away and reached out behind her to lock the door.
"Then what happened?" She smirked.
"I'm beginning to think you already know what happened." I whispered.
"Nope." She pretended to act clueless. "But... Why don't you show me, then?" She whispered back.
"Gladly..."
She grabbed the back of my head pulled me closer. This made my hands shoot out and place them on either side of her waist to catch myself. Our foreheads were resting on each other's. I couldn't take it anymore and attacked her lips in a heated kiss. It was a bit faster than the one in my dream but it was definitely better and... real.
She pulled away to catch her breath but almost immediately closed the gap again. I slid my tongue in without warning making her moan in my mouth. The sound was music to me and I needed to hear it again. Not wanting to, I broke away to kiss down her jaw and neck. I found the pulse point and licked it. Going up her neck, I kissed the spot below her ear making her shudder. I smirked in her neck and this time bit down hard on the same spot. This earned a throaty moan from the Latina.
I lifted my head from her neck and captured her lips in mine once again. We moved fast but began to slow down.
"Hey... Kim..." She moaned in between kisses.
"Hm?" I mumbled.
We kissed a couple more times. They were much longer and we put everything into them as if they made up for all the times we weren't able to. She kissed me one more time before whispering in my ear causing me to let out a shaky breath.
"I..." She whispered out of breath. "I had the same dream."

8 85Ortus (Old Version)
This is an old version of the heavily edited and rewritten Ortus This is the story of a woman named Riza. Riza is a woman who wakes up in a forest with nothing, remembering nothing, and on the cusp of death. The only thing she has is a weapon stuck in her side and, after a tangle with a wild boar, something called 'life aspect'. Little does she know that life magic is considered a dead-end branch and is largely outlawed across the world. None of this matters to her, of course. For one, even if someone tried to tell her, she doesn't know the language. Number two, have you heard about the sunk cost fallacy? Riza is not some chosen one, nor is given any boon she doesn't deserve. Instead, she's smart and methodical, and experiements on how to maximise every opportunity, every ability, presented to her. She doesn't just take things at face-value but instead explores just what limitations there are. This often involves maths.
