"What're you doing here?" A thick rough voice said behind me and I span around. His hair was ruffled as always but dark circles and dents under his eyes tore apart his young complexion that I swore would have never disappeared but I guess everyone can be wrong. He wore pyjama bottoms and a slack baggy t-shirt on top. Beads of sweat danced down his face and his eyes were dead and slightly bloodshot.
I blinked a couple times trying to get my mind back to here and now and close my mouth which had been slightly open as if I were about to speak but nothing came out. I glanced to the card down in my hands, raising it slightly to get his attention on it.
"I remember this day. It was really nice wasn't it?" I forced out of my mouth.
"If you count you falling out of a tree and going to hospital with your mother and mine crying their eyes out and me sitting there rocking back and forth hoping that you were alive, really nice, then yes it was." He said in a now monotone voice, his speech robbed of all emotion, his eyes glazing over for a moment before snapping back to reality refusing to let himself get emotional over the memories. "Now answer me. What are you doing here?"
"I just wanted to come round.. See how you are doing."
"Well, here you go," he spread his arms wide open, taking a step closer to me, "are you satisfied?"
I just stared at him, unsure of what to say, unsure of what to do. Turning my gaze to the ground, I held my arm with my hand, rubbing away the cold shivers that were rolling through my body. A tear rolled across my waterline, obscuring the world from my view for a moment before it fell to the floor, splattering the carpet with salty water.

"Just get out Kirsten and don't come back." His voice had the tremor of a death threat on his tongue. I nodded once before obeying him. He stood in the doorway to the living room all the while until I shut the front door behind me.
