*Jimmy's POV*
The doctor told me I've been in a coma for two weeks. I can't believe it. As I talked to the doctor, another man walked in.
"Glad to see you're awake." He smiled at me.
"Thank you." I smiled.
"I'm Justin's doctor. I'm doctor Bauer." We shook hands.
"It's nice to meet you." I smiled.
"You too." He smiled. He then went over to Justin to go to stuff.
Bauer? That sounds familiar. Hmm. I'll probably remember later.
"So when can I go home?" I asked my doctor.
"Three days. I want to keep you here for observation." He told me. I smiled and nodded.
"Thank you." I told him.
"No problem." He smiled. He then walked out of the room.
"Doctor Bauer?" I said. He looked at me and walked over to me.
"Yes, Jimmy?" He smiled.
"When do you think Justin will wake up?" I asked him. He sighed and shook his head.
"I don't know." He answered. "I'm sorry. That probably wasn't the answer you were looking for." He apologized.
I looked at his face. He looks familiar too. Where do I know this dude from?
"It's alright." I said. He then nodded and left the room. "I feel like I've seen him before." I told Nancy. "Was I conscious when they brought me here?" I asked her.
"No." She shook her head. Where do I know this doctor from?
*Ariana's POV*
I can't believe Uncle Jimmy is awake! This is great! Although I do wish it was my Dad that was awake, but I'm happy Uncle Jimmy is awake. I just wish Dad would wake up soon. The doctor said that after more of the testing they did, they found that Dad has more brain damage than we thought he did. That just made my anxiety worse.
What if he wakes up and doesn't remember me? What if he doesn't remember anyone? What if he doesn't wake up at all?
I sighed and shook my head. I have to start thinking positive things, but I just can't help it.
*Justin's POV*
Lauren and I walked around the hospital together.
"She really did that?" I laughed.
"Yes! She said she wanted to be a pop star just like you. You can't forget She was seven." She laughed.

"That's crazy." I smiled. "She has an amazing singing voice." I said.
"I know." She smiled. "She got that from you." She said.
"She could be a singer if she wanted to, but I don't think she does." I said to her.
"She doesn't want to be another you, I know." She said.
"I don't know what she wants to be." I sighed.
"She always told me she wanted to be a lawyer." She told me.
"Really? She's never told me that. Well we've never talked about it, so I guess that's why." I said.
"Well you better start talking to her about it. Her senior year is next year." She said.
"When I get back I will." I nodded. I can't believe I never talked to Ariana about what she wants to do after graduation. It's my job as a father to know these things! As soon as I get back I'm going to ask her. "So let's talk more about what happened." I said.
"What? You leaving me?" She rolled her eyes at me.
"Yes Lauren." I sighed.
"Justin, I was lost without you. I didn't know what to do! I wasn't ready to be a mother!" She said.
"I wasn't ready to be a father!" I said.
"But you left. I didn't. I raised her until the day I died!" She yelled at me. We both fell silent. "I raised her until the day I died." She repeated.
"I'm trying my best here, Lauren. I don't know what to do. I don't know what to do to get you to forgive me." I sighed. Why does this have to be so frustrating?
"It's hard to forgive you, Justin. You don't understand." She Sighed.
"Then help me understand." I said. She sighed and tears formed in her eyes.
"I forgave you for leaving a long time ago, Justin." She sighed.
"Then what am I still doing here?" I sighed.
"Because I still love you." She confessed. Wait what? "I have loved you every single day after you left. I still love you." She said to me. I don't know what to say. "Say something,Justin." She said.

"I-I don't love you anymore, Lauren. I'm sorry, I don't. I once did, but I moved on." I sighed. The look on her face made me feel so guilty for saying that.
"I understand." She nodded, wiping away her tears.
"I'm so sorry." I apologized again.
"No, don't be sorry." She shook away. She stood up. "I should be the one who's sorry. You obviously moved on, you got married. I shouldn't have said anything." She sighed. She quickly walked out of the room.
"Lauren!" I said as I went after her.
"Just go, Justin." She said.
"No. I'm not going to leave." I said. She stopped walking, turned around and looked at me. Before she could say anything, Jack walked up to us.
"It's time, Justin." He said.
"No." I shook my head. "We aren't done here." I said to Lauren.
"Yes we are, Justin. It wasn't your unfinished business, it was mine. I needed to tell you that I still love you." She said.
"But-" I began, only to be interrupted my Lauren.
"Justin, you need to go." She slowly walked up to me and put her hands on my shoulders. "Ariana and Jess need you." She said.
"I'm sorry, Lauren." I apologized.
"Don't be." She smiled and lightly kissed my cheek. "Take care of our daughter." She told me.
"Always." I nodded.
"Be the best husband to Jess." She said. Tears formed in her eyes and soon they were streaming down her face.
"I will." I nodded.
"C'mon Justin." Jack said. I nodded and walked with him. I glanced back and saw that Lauren wasn't there anymore. I sighed and we went back to the room where Jimmy and I once were.
"It was nice meeting you." I said.
"You too, Justin. You too." He nodded.
"Now what?" I asked him.
"Just stand there." He said. He then walked out of the room and I felt a sharp pain in my head. I screamed and fell to the ground. I looked at the door and saw Lauren standing outside it. I screamed in pain as I laid on the floor. Tears streamed down my face because of the pain. This is the worst feeling in the world.
"Lauren!" I screamed. She cried and tried to open the door, but she couldn't. Jack pulled her back, away from the door. She wanted to help me, but she couldn't.
This is it. I think I'm going to die.
*Ariana's POV*
I sat next to Dad's bed alone. Uncle Jimmy was allowed to go home, but he of course came to visit every single day.
It's been three weeks since they were in the car accident. I just wish he would wake up.
"Dad please wake up." I whispered to him. "Please." I sighed. I rested my head on his shoulder.
"What do you want to do after you graduate?" I heard somebody whispered. No it can't be. I looked up and saw my Dad looking at me.
"Dad?" I gasped.
"Hey kid." He smiled at me. I then hugged him tightly and began crying. "Sh, don't cry." He whispered to me. I pulled away from our hug and smiled at him.
"How could I not? You're awake and fine." I said to him.
"Now answer my question. What do you want to do after you graduate? Career wise." He said to me.
"I want to be a lawyer." I answered. "Why?" I asked him.
"I just wanted to know." He shrugged. I smiled and hugged him again.
"I missed you so much." I said to him.
"I missed you too." He said to me. Jess suddenly walked into the room.
"Do you want to go get-?" She began to say, but then stopped when she saw Dad and I. "Justin?" She gasped.
"Hey Jess." He smiled at her. She ran over to Dad and they hugged.
"I love you so much." She cried in his arms.
"I love you too." Dad smiled. He then looked at me and smiled. "I got my girls back." He smiled at Jess and I. We both then hugged him and we all cried together.
He's back! I can't believe it!

Digital Immigrant
This is the story of how James Allen Quick and Sarah Lynn Abernathy died. By 'died', I mean that their hearts stopped, their brains ceased sending electrical impulses, and all other physical functions terminated. Immediately after which, their bodies were placed into an industrial furnace, reduced to ash, and the ash was spread about in one of the last forest reserves in North America. As ash-spreading locations go, this ranked third. First and second places were, of course, a person’s favorite athletic team’s playing field and the sea. Or rather, I should say that this is how the story begins. You see, it’s what came after that is so interesting.

Starchild
“It’s life’s illusions I recall. I really don’t know life at all.” from the song, Both Sides Now, by Joni Mitchell Starchild is an adventure novel set within an understanding of reality that is rooted in Eastern spiritual traditions. It takes as its starting point experiments in remote viewing that were genuinely undertaken by the American military in the nineteen-nineties under the name of the Stargate Project. It then imagines how a more advanced attempt to weaponise the capabilities of consciousness might have been developed in the present day.The story then explores how Ultimate Reality might respond to such a threat.Deep, elemental forces thus bring together Samantha Martin and Sahadeva Varma, old colleagues from the Stargate Project, to avert the apocalyptic consequences of this military attempt to weaponise consciousness. This fast-paced story spans genres including romance, action, adventure, science fiction and more. Although this story is based on concepts drawn from established spiritual traditions, these have sometimes been extrapolated to the point of very extreme speculation for the needs of an adventure story.Much of the underlying philosophy, however, as explained in the dharma talks given by Samantha Martin, is paraphrased from the guidance of respected spiritual teachers. Scheduling: Starchild is a previously unpublished novel of one hundred thousand words which was serialised in weekly instalments over twenty-five weeks from 15th November 2021 to the 29th April 2022. Each instalment contains five chapters – an average of approximately four thousand words in each instalment.
