"Lali, stop texting and come help out!" Jisoo shouts from the kitchen. Lisa immediately pressed 'Send' and placed her phone aside.
The food is ready on the counter bar and she walks to one of the kitchen cabinet to take out the mats and plates.
"Are they still sleeping? It's noon!" Jisoo whined while placing a pot of chicken stew on the counter.
"Chaeng's probably up now, the whole house smells like stew," Lisa laughed. "Want me to check?" Jisoo nods. She walked a few steps closer to the stairs and shouts.
"It's noon!! Food is ready! Wake your asses up and eat before Jisoo unnie throws a fit!"
"Yah, Lali!! Your voice hurts my eardrums!" Jisoo scolds her, earning a laugh from the younger. "You're always in too much of a good mood nowadays..." She looks at her maknae accusingly. "Could it be because of that boy?"
"Unnie, don't tease me!" Lisa stomps her foot and Jisoo laughs.
"It's true, isn't it? You're always extra chirpy when you're texting him. Just remember to tell us when it's official!"
Lisa rolled her eyes at the remark. She had told her members when she came back from the trip to the park that she's friends with Jungkook but left out how they came to meet. She had to tell a white lie –that she knew him from Bambam. It was believable as they're aware that the two are friends.
She had to endure a week of teasing from them after that, especially from Chaeyoung. She's the most excited out of all, saying how Jungkook probably has a crush on her, that's why he asked Bambam for her number. Lisa knew better, so she just let them have their way. Jisoo was right though, she must admit that.
Jungkook had been texting her every day and they talk on the phone almost every night before sleep for the past one month, even for the past one week that he's in Japan for Bangtan's album promotion. She's not sure why, but she told herself that he probably feels lonely after the break-up. That's the only reason that made sense to her. So Lisa responded, in a way to help him recover – but also because she feels giddy every time his name flashes on the screen of her phone.

It's terrible how she got excited over it - she knew it. She knew the more time spent talking to him, the more she's going to feel invested and attached to the guy. It's very hard not to like Jungkook. She can see now that the fun and energetic guy she thought he was had made an appearance.
And combined with his extremely caring personality – constantly asking how her day was, asking random information about her and being concerned with her accidental whinings when some days are rough – just made him even more attractive. Even though he could be a bit clingy at times - especially when Lisa didn't have time to reply immediately – she kind of appreciate his attention towards her.
Yes, Lisa is definitely attracted to him, day by day. But she knows better than to say or do anything about it! First of all, she knows nothing about giving off the impression. Secondly, she knew it was nothing for him – that they're just friends, and he only did it because he's used of having someone to talk to.
There are times when she thought about backing off, to slowly create some distance between them. But Jungkook made it hard by constantly worrying whenever she doesn't reply or pick up his calls that it made her feel bad. But now upon hearing what Jisoo had said, her chest suddenly feels heavy. How long can she keep this up – hiding her own emotions to help him recover his? If she leaves it up to him, she'd probably be crying by the end of all this.
One day, he's going to fall for someone new and that person will be the one replacing her, being the first one to get his morning texts and the last one to hear his voice when the night comes to an end. Lisa would be a stranger again – a friend, yes, but no different than how they were before. They'd greet each other at shows and event, nothing more. Unconsciously, her eyes began to tear up, suddenly overwhelmed with the thought. She quickly takes a deep breath and distract herself with prepping the table for lunch.

"Yahh did you sleep late again last night? I told you to head straight to bed!" Jin ruffled Jungkook's hair as he sat down at the dining counter with the rest of the members. The guy's still rubbing his eyes.
"And I did,"
"Liar! Hyung, he's lying! I heard you talking on the phone –" Taehyung exclaimed loudly.
"Yeah, on the bed! So technically I didn't lie. Anyways, what are we, in middle school or something? Why are you reporting about me?" Jungkook groaned.
"Leave the kid alone. He's happy. And distracted. Good for me," Namjoon backed the maknae and laughs.
It's true! Otherwise, he'd have to worry with Jungkook constantly pastering about while he's working in his studio, asking him random questions that requires Namjoon to think hard about 'what could possibly be the issue that he ended up asking me these things?'. He hadn't done that for about two months now, which could only mean there's nothing major troubling his young mind.
"You're good, right? As long as you get enough rest. We have another two concerts left. Make sure you don't burn yourself out just yet," Jungkook smirked at Taehyung as Namjoon patted his shoulder.
"Of course he won't, hyung. He's too excited to go back home – he just asked me after the concert yesterday –"
"Yah yahhh!!" Jungkook quickly pulled Jimin by the neck and covered his mouth. Jimin struggled out and laughed.
" - asked me how many days more before we go back –" Jimin ran across to the other side of the counter, far from the open-mouthed Jungkook.
"Just how whipped is this boy?!" Hoseok laughed out loud. Jungkook just covers his face, hiding the wide smile on his face.

Jungkook:
I bought you something
I'll give it to you when we meet at Gayo Daejun next week!
Lisa:
U did? What is it?
Jungkook:
It's a surprise lol
I can't tell you what it is now
Lisa:
A surprise?
What for?
Did something happen?
Lisa shift to lay on her side. Why would he buy her a gift?
Jungkook:
Well...the 'something' happened a while back
But I just found this thing that I think is perfect for you
Her heart beat picks up at his reply.
Lisa:
You sound happy, must be a good thing!
She tries hard to think about what could possibly be so exciting for him. BTS has already achieved so much this year. Only last week he had told her how the group had been invited to attend the Grammys.
She can still recall the embarrassingly loud gasps she gave throughout the conversation – but really, as a fan, she's more than proud to be hearing it! It's another milestone for them and she knew the possibilities of him and his group to be bigger and recognized worldwide are now endless.
Jungkook:
I am
I can give u a clue if u want
Lisa:
Okay, let's hear it!
She waited patiently for his reply. Briefly, she wondered if Blackpink could ever rise up to their level. Probably not as high... Her dream was to become a Korean idol. It had always been just that. She had never thought about anything more, although they have been told how the group's now gaining more and more attention internationally -
Jungkook:
It's about a certain girl...
Her breath hitched, and she felt her heart fall. The exact thing that she had feared two months ago is now here. He had met someone new. It's probably a gift for helping and being his friend all this while. Tears welled up her eyes as she felt a piercing pain in her chest.
Lisa: Omo! That definitely sounds like good newsCan't wait to hear about it!
