Fezco opened the front door, smiling at the sight of his girlfriend. He gently grabbed her wrist, pulling her towards him and capturing her lips in a tender kiss that Lulu had no trouble melting into.
She kissed him back eagerly, earning a chuckle from Fezco who pulled away, "Slow down, you. We ain't alone."
Lulu grunted, "Ugh, can't she go down to the station with Ash?"
Faye popped her head from the living room, "Ya'll can go ahead and do your thing. I wouldn't mind watching."
Lulu raised an eyebrow as Faye puffed on her blunt, "What? I miss my boyfriend."
"Yeah, no," Fezco said before looking back at Lulu, "Why aren't ya at school right now?"
Lulu made her way to the kitchen, pouring herself a cup of coffee, "Cause Rue pissed me off and I hate school so..."
"What'd she do?"
Lulu sighed, "Okay, so, I don't want ya to freak out but Rue made a new friend and then he became my friend."
Fezco listened intently, not even tensing up when she mentioned it was a guy. He had no reason to freak out, they were as close as ever and she had always been totally honest with him about anything.
"And she just said that I was a flirt and shit," Lulu added, growing frustrated, "And now that I say it out loud it sounds stupid because it is kinda true. Like... yeah, I used to be like that but I already told her I got feelings for you—"
"Feelings for me, uh?" Fezco interrupted with a smile.
Lulu shook her head, trying to cover her rosy cheeks by holding her cup in front of her face, "Shut up."
Fezco reached for the cup, putting it on the counter before kissing her quickly, "The guy with the face tats?"
Lulu nodded, "Yeah, Elliot."
He looked away for a second, "Yeah, definitely has a crush on ya."
"What?" Lulu asked, scrunching her nose.
"I saw how he looked at you at the New Years' party."
Lulu brushed it off with her hand, "I actually think he has a crush on Rue and Jules so... you're wrong."
Fezco hummed in disapproval, "Nah, I know that look."
She shrugged, "It doesn't matter cause I don't have a crush on him."
Fezco played with a strand of her hair, "I know."
"And Rue was being a bitch this morning," Lulu said, "But I've been kinda mean. I kinda snapped."
"She can be annoyin'," Fezco pointed out.

Lulu pursed her lips together, "I just don't need her to talk about my relationship when she can't even handle hers right."
"Maybe she doesn't know how to be your friend anymore," Fezco said, "Since ya'll fought and everythin'."
"Yeah, but that was a while ago, we made up ever since."
"Yeah, but it ain't the same anymore."
Lulu looked up at Fezco, as if he had clearly pointed out where the issue was coming from. Ever since Rue had abandoned her when Jules first came to town, things had shifted between them. They were fine now, but it was different. As if Lulu was scared that Rue would walk out of her life once again.
And, maybe Lulu was too proud to admit it, but with both of her parents walking out of her life, abandonment was now the thing that frightened her the most in life.
"I'll go talk to her," Lulu let out.
... ... ...
When Zahia bursted into Fezco's house at the end of her school day, followed by Ashtray, Lulu and Fezco were chilling on the couch —after spending a couple of hours in his room to enjoy some time alone.
"I knew you'd be here," Zahia told her sister, "Y'know I had to cover for you, the principal asked me why you weren't there."
Lulu opened her eyes wide, "What did you tell him?"
"That you had an interview," Zahia replied, "Always works. Especially now."
"Thanks," Lulu smiled, "So... you went to the station first, uh?"
Zahia glared at her sister, "Yeah, cause I was followed by some car right after school."
Lulu's heart missed a beat, "A black SUV?"
Suddenly, everyone standing in the room tensed. Because everyone understood Lulu had most certainly been followed around as well.
The two sisters shared a knowing look, understanding it probably had something to do with their mother. Zahia gulped, "Yeah... it followed you too?"
Lulu closed her eyes, sighing, "Yeah... a few days ago."
"Next time, you tell us," Ashtray said, "Imma kick his ass real quick."
"You're into dark shit as well?" Faye asked bluntly, "I thought you just did that in movies."
Lulu didn't answer, instead she looked at Fezco, who was already staring at her, trying to cover the hint of fear in his eyes.
"By the way," Ashtray started, grabbing a rifle, "That motherfucker from last time is still parked in front o' the house."
When he came back, he was forcefully pushing Cal Jacobs on a chair, threatening him with the rifle pressed against the man's temple.

Cal made eye contact with Lulu, who stared at him with a cold gaze.
"So, first you come to my fucking job, asking all these weird ass questions like the feds," Fezco said, "Then I find you out front of my house, the fuck are you doing man?"
"You're free to call the cops," Cal dared.
"Why the fuck would I do that?"
"Well, it's either call the cops, let me go or..." Cal said as he turned to look at Ashtray, "Kill me."
Lulu raised an eyebrow, definitely repressing a laugh. The man had absolutely no clue who he was talking to and it showed.
"What the fuck man," Fezco sighed, "What's with your family, are you all just a bunch of fuckin' assholes?"
"You beat up my son."
"Yeah, well, he deserved it man, he's a fucking bitch."
"Oh, okay, tough guy," Cal mocked in a low tone, earning a rifle kick, "Oh, ow, fuck! Why did you do that?"
"Cause you're in no position to talk shit," Ashtray spat confidently.
"I'm warning you, you hit me one more—"
And Ashtray hit him again, as the Jenson sisters shared an impressed look. They wouldn't be the one to say they weren't up to violence.
"Oh fuck!"
"Why don't you call the cops?" Ashtray offered.
"The chief of police, Will Greenwood—"
Cal couldn't finish that he was being slammed on the head several time by Ashtray.
"All right, Ash, chill out man," Fezco said calmly.
"Fuck!"
"This guy don't want the fuckin' cops involved, watch," Ashtray pointed out, pulling out his phone and sliding it on the table, "Call the cops."
"I will!"
"Dial, bitch!" Ashtray insisted, hitting him again, "If you got nothing to hide, call the fucking cops."
But Cal was taking too long, earning him another hit on the face, "Stop."
"I'm not fucking stopping."
"Stop!"
"I'm not stopping, call the cops!"
Cal kept looking at his feet, in defeat.
"I told you," Ashtray said, giving him a final hit.
"Alright man, I get it," Fezco agreed.
"I know you and your drug addict friend, that girl... you're trying to extort my son."
"What?"
"Because of what I did to her friend."
"The fuck are you talking about man?"
But Lulu knew. She had to control a gasp as she realized Cal Jacobs was scared people would find out he had had sex with Jules when she first arrived in town.
"You know, the blonde," Cal explained.
"Who, Jewel?"
Cal sighed in defeat, "Look, man, I didn't know she was seventeen..."
Fezco's eyes popped right out, "You tellin' me you had sex with Jewel?"
"Who's Jewel?" Faye asked.
Lulu tugged on Fezco's shirt, "Babe... babe," and he finally looked at her, "It's Jules... Jules," she corrected, dragging the final sound of the name.
"What the fuck, man."
"Do I know Jewel?" Faye wondered as Lulu rolled her eyes at her pronunciation.
"The fuck are we even talkin' about right now, bro?"
Cal scratched the back of his head, "I just want the disk."
A disk? Of him having sex with Jules?
"What disk?" Fezco asked, getting more annoyed each second.
"Of Jewel and I."
"Yo, you recorded that shit?"
"I didn't know..."
"You didn't know that you were recording?"
"I fucked up," Cal let out in a whisper.
"Obviously man! Well, who the fuck even told you I gave a shit about this anyway?"
"My son."
"Your son, the one that's in love with Jewel?"
"Oh, that's cute..." Faye said, causing Lulu and Zahia to grimace.
"That's not cute man, what the fuck!"
"What?"
"What kinda weird ass father-son shit is goin' on around here bro?" Fezco spoke loudly.
"I get why your son's a fuckin' psychopath now," Lulu said as she tried not to gag in total disgust.
"I'm extremely confused," Cal said blankly.
"You're confused? I'm fucking confused, bro. I don't even know what the fuck you're doing here."
"Do you mind if I just leave?" Cal asked, "I'm not gonna say a word about anything, I swear to god. Let's just pretend like... none of this ever happened."
And Cal Jacobs was allowed to leave under the conditions decided by Fezco.
Lulu started pacing around the living-room, absolutely appalled by what they had all just found out. She lit a cigarette and dragged on it as if her life depended on the deadly stick.
"That was hot when he hit him," Zahia blurted out, her eyes glued on the chair where Cal was sat on just a few moments earlier.
But her skin paled when she noticed all the looks on her, harshly gulping, her cheeks turning crimson, "Fuck... did I just say that out loud?"

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
