Seth healed within a few hours. By nightfall he was able to take off the sling and bandages. Carslie decided to keep his arm splinted overnight as not to over strain the newly healed bones. Seth chose to stay the night at the Cullen's house rather than worry his mom. Leah returned to their house while Jacob also chose to sleep over. He took the sofa downstairs whilst Seth and Ellis curled up in the hammock.

They had placed Ellis' Polaroid photos on the wall above the desk, tacked on with bluetack. They joined the photos of Ellis' family. A new collection of moments. It was easy to compare the differences between human Ellis and the vampire one. But there was still a recognisable trait to his face that linked him to the human boy.

Ellis dwelled on this as Seth slept. The werewolf had stripped off his T-shirt for the night and Ellis lay on his warm chest like cold snow. Used to it, Seth snored all through the night while Ellis basked in his warmth like a snake. The vampire had downloaded a bunch of audiobooks onto the phones that Carslie and Esme had given him. He was able to spend the night in Seth's cuddly grip and listen through a few of the books until the dawn light rose. By that point, Seth's grip was looser and Ellis was able to slip out and head downstairs.

Esme and Emmet were cooking breakfast for the wolves in the kitchen. Jacob was still sprawled over the leather couch in the living room. He was bare chested and snoring. Ellis chuckled at him before entering the kitchen. "Morning", he greeted in some semblance of normality.

"Hey Ellis", Esme replied. She was stirring a big bowl of Porridge over the stove. It was sweetened with dried fruits and there was a bottle of maple syrup on the table. "How was your night?" She asked. Next to her, Emmet looked up and smiled at him.

"The audio books are amazing", Ellis grinned. She laughed.

"I'm glad to hear it".

"I'm going to go and help Rose with the jeep downstairs", Emmet said as he left the room. He was headed down to the garage where Rosalie could be heard tinkering away with the jeep. She must have taken it apart and put it back together at lest five or six times since Ellis had known them. The two of them did love improving the cars.

Behind them, there was the sound of the front door opening and closing as Bella and Edward walked in the house. Ellis could hear the faint heartbeat of Nessie in Bella's arms. The little group entered the kitchen. Nessie was dressed but still sleepy. She was rubbing at her eyes with a small fist. Ellis noted that she had grown more during the night. Her hair was longer and she was more in control of her limbs. She smiled toothily at him.

Bella chuckled as Nessie placed a hand on her face. "Oh you want to sit with Ellis. Okay then". She passed Nessie down onto Ellis' lap. His arms automatically came round to hold the infant in place. She was too old for an infant, too aware. Ellis guested that she was about a toddler, probably around one year in physical development. It was crazy to think she had been born almost a week ago.

Nessie placed a hand to his cheek and he got a image of him and Seth flashing across his mind. "Seth is still asleep", he told her. "He's like Jacob so he needs to sleep". Nessie's little face turned to look around Ellis' shoulder into the living room. Jacob was still snoring on the sofa. She giggled like a bell.

The image of him kissing Seth on the cheek appeared in his head, followed by images of Alice and Jasper, Rosalie and Emmet, Esme and Carslie. Ellis blinked as they faded away, surprised by Nessie's question. How did you explain this to a baby? A very mature and understanding baby, but still a baby. He turned and looked at Edward for help.

Edward and Bella, who had been watching the interaction, smiled. "She asked us that same question yesterday", he chuckled. "I told her that you would have to explain it". Ellis inwardly grumbled. That was no help at all. Edward grinned cheekily.

"Well", he began, bouncing Nessie slightly. She made a gurgling noise and clutched tighter at his tshirt. "I love Seth like your dad loves your mum. Like Alice loves Jasper, Carslie loves Esme and Rosalie loves Emmet. He imprinted on me just like Jacob did with you. I then got to know him and we fell in love and began dating. That does not mean you have to do so in the future with Jacob", he added. His finger hooped her nose. Footsteps and shuffling from upstairs could be heard. Seth must have woken up. "An imprint can be whatever you need it to be. They can be your best friend or your most loyal protector. Seth just became my boyfriend because that's how we needed each other. Love is love no matter species, race or gender. When you're an adult, you will understand".

Nessie nodded, eyes too deep for her age. She seemed to take the information in but Ellis was unsure how well she understood. She seemed to get the guest of the conversation though.

She squealed delightedly as warm arms encircled around Ellis' neck from behind. Seth nuzzled his nose into Ellis' curls, hot breath tickling his scalp. He brushed a kiss against his head. "Aww. Love you too". His voice was husky from sleep and Ellis could feel him smile against his head.

"Morning", he grinned. "Sleep well?" It was a rhetorical question. Seth had slept like a log. His splint was off and he was moving around as if he had never been injured.

"Yeah. Until my air con ran away", he grumbled. Nessie squealed and waved her hands at him. "Heya Nessie", Seth said. He bent down and allowed her to place her hand on his forehead.

"Of course I can wake Jacob up", Seth grinned.

"Breakfast is ready if you could so kindly do so", Esme voiced as she began pouring porridge into bowls. Edward had gone over to help her while Bella just watched her daughter with a fond smile.

"Want to come and help wake up Jacob?" Seth asked. Nessie nodded and laughed. He stood up, tucking and arm under Nessie so that she wouldn't fall. Together, the three of them started to creep in large comical exaggerated movements into the living room. Bella snorted behind them at the display as Reneesme giggled. When they got to the sofa, Seth behind it and Ellis in front with Nessie, they paused. Seth placed a finger to his lips. Nessie mimicked the gesture with a giggle.

"You might want to cover her ears", Seth muttered to Ellis. "He might swear". Ellis stepped back and sat on the opposite sofa. He placed Nessie in his lap so that he could cover her ears with his hands, stopping any noise being audible. Nessie peered up at him curiously for a moment before turning her attention back to Seth. The wolf boy had reached round the back of the sofa and was scratching delicately against Jacob's nose. Jacob wrinkled it with a sleepy groan. Seth paused then resumed. Jacob gave a louder groan and turned slightly. Seth continued. Finally, Jacob raised his hand and promptly smacked himself in the face.

He must have done it quite hard as the sudden impact had him falling off the sofa. "What the fuck?" He yelled as he tumbled to the floor. Seth was in stitches behind the sofa and Ellis was snorting. Nessie laughed loudly and clapped her hands.

From the kitchen, Bella's pissed off voice rose like thunder. "Jacob Black, are you swearing in front of my child?"

Jacob instantly paled. "Oh shit. I mean shoots".
