"Renesme", Ellis muttered as he bounced his knee lightly. "What sort of a name is that? I mean really. I like Bella and all but come on!"

"Don't talk that way in front of her", Rosalie scolded from her position next to him on the living room sofa. She cooed at baby on Ellis' lap, tickling her cheek. Reneesme giggled and smiled toothily at them. Ellis was supporting her on his knee as he bounced her. Her little arms and legs waving as she moved.

For a newborn, Reneesme was awfully advanced. She Esme's more like a eight month old, rather than only two days old. She was fully able to support her own head and move her limbs easily. Her mouth had a full set of teeth and a light layer of bronze curls covered her head. The pleasant scent of human and vampire was strange but not unkind. It reminded him of flowers and sugar. Not alerting his hunger but still giving him a need to be in her proximity.

She blinked at Ellis with big brown eyes, just like her mother's, and squealed excitedly. Her cubby hand reached out to touch his cheek and instantly images flooded his mind. Ellis could sense a soft warm feeling of being cocooned. There was nothing apart from blackness and the sounds of a rhythmic pounding. Faint noises of laughter and voices seemed to filter through. This was Reneesme's experience, he realised, of being in Bella's stomach listening to Ellis talking and making people laugh. He could feel her feelings of curiosity and joy.

He smiled at her. "Aww, I'm glad to meet you too", he said softly. She smiled back, eyes too aware for a newborn. He could sense Rosalie smiling as well. Since Reneesme's birth and Ellis' subsequent panic attack, the two of them had grown closer. They had reached a mutual understanding. She was no longer as wary and easily annoyed by him as before and Ellis was more understanding of her standoffish behaviour.

"Nessie", he decided after a moment. He bounced the newly nicknamed baby again and she laughed delightedly. "I'm calling you Nessie. Reneesme's too much of a mouthful".

"You can't name her after the Loch Ness monster", Rosalie protested.

"Name her what?" Jacob asked as he strode into the room. He bent down and Ellis slowed him to sweep Nessie of his lap and into the air. She was absolutely delighted at Jacob's appearance and placed her hand to his face. He smiled at whatever she was telling him and hugged her close, pure awe and love in his eyes.

The whole imprinting thing had caused mixed reactions. On the one hand, it stopped Sam's pack from being able to harm her. On the other, she was only a baby. Edward and Rosalie tolerated it begrudgingly. They knew that nothing would change it. The rest of the family were uneasy about it. The only one who was happy for Jacob, was Ellis. He had more experience with the whole imprint business than the rest of the Cullens and was more understanding. It did not cause feelings, other of ones of protection. Jacob did not view her as a romantic partner. He only wanted to keep her safe and happy. It was all he desired. Ellis was happy for him.

"Nessie", Ellis said as he stood up. "I won the right to give her a nickname and I chose Nessie, because like the Loch Ness monster, she is one of a kind. Also Reneesme's is a ridiculous name".

Jacob snorted. "True. I like it. Nessie likes it too". As if to prove the point, Nessie clapped her hands and cooed. Everyone's expressions melted. She was that adorable.

Rosalie sniffed, watching Jacob warily. She did not trust him but she knew that he would never hurt Nessie. "Fine", she grumbled. "But I'm not the one telling Edward and Bella about their daughter's new name. You guys can explain it yourselves".

"Edward already knows", Ellis stated. It was true. Edward was upstairs watching over Bella's transformation and he could definitely hear everything they were saying and thinking. "I don't think he minds".

"Not like that would stop you", Edward's disgruntled voice was clearly audible. He wasn't amused by the new named but he had learned the hard way of going against his newest brother. Ellis took it as a win.

"Nessie it is", he stroked his hand across her head and she beamed at him.

"How long until Bella wakes up?" He asked curiously out loud.

"Some point tomorrow I think", Edward responded upstairs. His voice was a lot calmer now that they had moved off the topic of the new nickname. He seemed happy and hopeful. "Depending on her control, she should be awake and coherent enough some point within the next twelve hours".

Ellis hummed. "That's good. I'm going to go hunting, clear the way for newborn Bella".

"Emmet will want to go with you", Rosalie said as she fussed over Reneesme's baby onesie. It was a extremely cute one in pale yellow with patterns embroidered around the neckline. Alice and her had taken great joy in buying baby clothes. "He's in the garage messing with the Land Rover".

"I'll drop in", Ellis agreed. He nuzzled his cheek against Nessie's, much to her delight, before leaving the room.

True to Rosalie's word, Emmet was in the basement garage under the house. He was half under the frame of his truck, tinkering with something in the engine. Ellis tapped on the metal and he emerged. He grinned at Ellis, face streaked with oil and hands grimy.

Everyone had their hobbies. Alice and Esme enjoyed interior design. They created and designed houses. Alice also liked fashion and shopping. All of which Ellis had been roped into taking part of. Edward enjoyed his music, while Jasper liked history books and scholarly pursuits. Carlisle had his job as a Doctor. Whilst Rosalie and Emmet took to enhancing and working with mechanics. It was something both of them enjoyed, but Emmet also enjoyed challenging games. Ellis liked how the other had a love for anything physically or mentally challenging.

"Ellis", he greeted as he set down his tools. "I heard something about food?"

Ellis laughed. "Yeah. Want to come hunting with me? We can bet on it".

"Oh", Emmet's eyebrows raise challengingly. He stood up and wiped his hands on a dirty cloth. "What are the stakes?"

"How about the first one to find their prey and be back here within the hour gets bragging rights for the next week?" Ellis suggested.

"That would be unfair on you though. I'm far more experienced", Emmet objected. It was true. Ellis was still getting the hang of hunting animals. He lacked the finesse and confidence of his older siblings.

"Okay. What if you're not allowed to hunt deer?"

That seemed more fair. Deer were the easiest thing to hunt. Although they were not the tastiest, they worked for a quick snack. Not allowing Emmet to hunt deer, would make it harder for the older vampire. He was limited to the other, rare forest animals.

His eyes lit up at the challenge and he held out his hand. "Deal. If I win, I get bragging rights. If you win, you can hold it over me for a week".

"Prepare to be shamed Emmet", Ellis smirked cockily.

Emmet laughed and settled into a wide stance, ready to run at any given moment. "Bring it on little brother".

"Ready?" Ellis relaxed his posture. "Three, two, one. Go!"
