《Pathetic || Seth Clearwater》Fifteen

The next day Seth was back. Last night, after him and Ellis had finished talking, he had headed home to sleep. Alice had taken the opportunity to show Ellis his room.
It was the same guest room that he had been allocated before, not that he had used it at all, but the cream walls had been changed to a deep green and the bed had been replaced with a hammock on which were a assortment of blankets and pillows. Two doors lead off from the room, from which Ellis could see a bathroom and a walk in closet, courtesy of Alice of course. The floor was carpeted with a deep blue which worked nicely with the shade of the walls. The wall across from the door had been transformed into a huge glass window overlooking the forest outside whilst also filling the room with natural light. There was a desk and a chair in a corner, perfectly positioned so that light was fully accessible and next to it were numerous book cases. Tall, dark and handsome was out of it's case and on a stand along with a stool in the corner, so that Ellis could sit and play.
"I hope you like it", Alice was saying as she let Ellis take it in. "The windows are mirrored on the other side, so others can't look in. The hammock was my idea, I thought you'd enjoy it much more than a bed. Esme chose the colours and I've filled your wardrobe for you. Your free to fill it with any personal items you want. I did not move any other items from your case apart from your cello, so feel free to arrange them as you wish. If you need any help with your wardrobe, just let me know". She breezed back through the door, letting Ellis have some time to himself.
Ellis slowly walked around the room, taking in the smell of the paint and the furnishings. They had chosen english oak for the desk and the book shelves, probably to remind him of his home country, and the smell sent a wave of nostalgia through him. He crossed to where his case was propped up against the wall and unclipped it open. True to her word, Alice had not removed any of his belongings other than Tall, dark and Handsome. Ellis shifted through them. There was not much, a couple of sets of clothing, a hair brush and a few hair clips, as well as a few things he had salvaged from the wreckage of his Aunt's and uncle's house. He took the chipped and cracked photo frame and placed it carefully on the desk, angling it so that the faces were looking out towards the forest. Among the other things he had salvaged was a stuffed rose pink bear which he rested in the pile of blankets in the hammock. It's ear was missing and it smelled faintly of dust but the time spent in Ellis' case had softened it up a bit and now it smelt more like him. He couldn't remember what attachment he had with the bear before his turning, but he knew that it was his.

The last thing he had collected was a chain containing his parent's wedding rings. They had been still on their fingers when he found them, gold against bone. Victoria and James had not bothered with burying his family, and their skeletons were still lying in the dirt. Ellis had been surprised to find them there. But the house was rather removed, so it was not unlikely that they had not been discovered. He had placed an anonymous call to the police station, detailing where he had found them and let the police handle their bodies. He hoped that his brother back in England would have some peace of mind. Remembering this, he looped the chain around his neck, dropping the rings under his shirt where they rested against his cold chest.
Ellis spent the rest of the night swaying soothingly in the hammock, reading his way through a number of the Cullen's novels. The family had very graciously allowed him full access to all their individual book and music collections. Even Edward had let Ellis thumb through his stack of cds, pointing out which one were his favourites and when they had been made. The normally well spoken quiet Male had spoken up quite a bit when talking about music and had even offered to play with him at some point. Ellis had hesitantly agreed, but for when he was more used to playing Tall, Dark and handsome.
He mulled away the hours, and before he knew it, sunlight was shining through his windows. It seemed to be a unusually sunny day for Forks, forcing Ellis to close the curtains or face turning into a humanoid disco ball. That was where Seth found him, curled up in his hammock. A open copy of 'The song of Achilles' resting in his lap and Bastille playing softly in the background.
"Alice told me I'd find you here", Seth smiled as he opened the door. "She let me in". He blinked in the gloomy room, trying to see. "Why is it so dark?" He asked. He was wearing actual trousers this time, and a maroon T-shirt with some sort of graphic design that Ellis didn't recognise on the front. He looked better than the night before, face happier and less tired.
"It's too sunny", Ellis responded slyly, closing the book in order to give Seth his full attention. His eyes saw through the dark easily. "We don't like the sun".
Seth grinned at the joke. "Considering you're vampires and all", he muttered. "Budge up". He fumbled for a bit as he tried to join Ellis on the hammock. Eventually, with Ellis lifting him, he sprawled himself out amid the pillows and blankets. Their legs were tangled, hot and cold making Ellis hyper aware of Seth's body against his, even through layers of fabric.
"You know", Seth spoke up as he lazily tucked an arm under his head. "I've never seen one of you guys in the sun. It's always gloomy here, like you".

"Ha Ha", Ellis muttered. "I can open the curtains if you want. I don't mind". Seth nodded and Ellis pushed himself up and onto the floor. Patches of residual warmth left from Seth's freakish body heat almost stung, already missing the other body. Ellis ignored them and pulled back the curtains.
Sunlight flooded the room. At first, Seth was too busy looking around Ellis' room, taking in the green walls and the small amount of personal objects that were on display. When his eyes fell on Ellis, his breathe audibly stuttered. The short sleeved T-shirt and skinny jeans allowed for there to be enough skin on display that he sent small flecks of light dancing off the walls.
"I look like a human disco ball don't I?" Ellis joked, grinning at Seth who was suspiciously silent. He quirked an eyebrow at the other, now blushing boy. "Earth to Seth?"
"You look beautiful", Seth whispered, but Ellis still heard it. If he was human, he would be rose red. "I never realised you sparkled", he continued at normal volume. He rolled out of the hammock and on to his feet, approaching Ellis slowly. Once he was a few feet away, he stretched out an arm. "Can I touch you?" His voice was soft.
Ellis nodded his consent and became completely still as Seth ran his fingertips down his cheek. They left warm trails on his marble skin. Ellis watched Seth's face as the boy ran his hand down his bare neck, Ellis' skin dotting the other with little dots of golden light. "Wow", Seth breathed, a smile tugging his lips. "I knew that the sun revealed you as vampires, but I never expected this". His lips grew even wider, settling into a teasing smirk. "You do sort of look like a disco ball though".
Ellis laughed, reflexively bending over as he chortled. Seth stared for a moment longer, chuckling until his howling laughter joined Ellis'. Around the house, Ellis could hear other members of the Cullen family giggling to themselves (Alice and Esme mainly. But he suspected that the others were probably at lest smiling. He could practically hear Emmet's grin) as they listened to them laugh.
"So", Seth began once they had calmed down. Both of them were lying on the plush carpet, Ellis spread out fully in the light. Seth had one of his arms and was triggering him to flex his fingers, watching with childlike fascination as the refracted light danced across the walls. "What do you want to do today?"
"I don't mind", Ellis mumbled, feeling content and warmed. Poet, by Bastille was playing softly in the background and he hummed aloud to it for a few moments before opening his eyes to peer over at the tanned boy. The sun light him up in a completely different way to Ellis. It brought out the warm tanned golds of his skin and shone on the bronze strands in his black hair. Ellis watched as Seth met his eyes, honeyed brown turning liquid in the light. "Is there anything you want to do? We have a few days before the wedding. You could show me around".
I can't say the words out loud, so in a rhyme, I've wrote you down.
Now you'll live through the ages, I can feel your pulse in the pages.
Seth thought for a moment, face calm as he turned his attention back to Ellis' hand in his grasp. He linked their fingers gently and Ellis could feel the thrum of his quick pulse. "Is this okay?" He asked. The answering squeeze made him smile and Ellis watched.
"Seth", Ellis spoke calmly and softly in order not to make Seth panic. "What are we?"
"Your my imprint. And I'm whatever you need me to be", Seth stated as if it was obvious.
"No," Ellis tried again, voice more insistent but still soft. "By human terms, what are we? Friends? Brothers? Or more?"
"Seth furrowed his brow. "Whatever you want us to be", he answered, not fully understanding. "You're my imprint. That means that I'm bonded to you. You are literally my reason for everything, my world. I will do anything to protect you, keep you safe, make you happy. So I will be whatever you want me to be".
The words made Ellis feel uncomfortably happy and he ignored the want to hide and grin like a loon. Instead he turned Seth's words back at him. "Well what do you want me to be to you? If I wasn't your imprint, and this was a normal human relationship, what would you want it to be?"
Seth went silent, brow creased as he thought. His thumb rubbed small circles on to the back of Ellis' hand, the bare skin contact seeming to reassure him. Ellis watched his expressions change.
I've written you down now.
You will live forever
In eyes not yet created. In tongues not yet born.
"I want you to be mine", Seth finally spoke, voice warmly horse. "Wether or not we put a label on it. I want you to be mine and I to be yours. I just want us to be ourselves together". His eyes were open and honest. Ellis felt himself crumble and he rolled over, burying his face in Seth's shoulder. He felt apart, like he did months ago on the mountain, and let Seth cradle him together as he shook.
"Nobody's ever wanted me for me before", his voice cracked. Seth cradled him in his reassuring arms.
"I want you". Words had never made Ellis feel happier.
