"I know you are both werewolves and everything", Ellis began. Jacob looked up from watching the forest. Seth sat down on a rock on Ellis' right, watching him with his honey brown eyes. "But seriously, that slight howling laughter that you both do is so fucking extra that I can't take it".

Seth burst out laughing, his voice coming out breathy as he subconsciously made small noises which did actually sound like little howls. He over balanced and slipped off the rock. The sight of the lanky teen flailing in the air set Jacob and Ellis off who both snorted in amusement. From the tent a few feet away, Ellis heard Edward and Bella chuckle.

According to Alice, Victoria was due to attack at some point tomorrow. The Cullen's had relocated to a empty clearing several miles away for the upcoming battle. What Ellis had been told the plan was that most of the Cullens and the werewolves would be out on the clearing to fight off the newborn army. Victoria though, would come for Bella. So she was kept out of the way with Edward protecting her. Seth had at first been against being left out of the battle until he had heard that Ellis would be accompanying Edward and Bella on the mountain.

"Well I don't howl", Jacob complained. He crossed his arms over his bare chest as the storm wind billowed around them, filling his hair with snowflakes. Seth was in a similar state, only wearing a pair of jeans. Ellis was half jealous of their incredible body heat. He watched as the snowflakes melted on their skin. His only clung to his clothes and hair, staying perfectly intact.

"No", he admitted but his lips stretched into a smirk. "But you do bark. Woof woof Jacob".

Jacob stood up with a groan. "That's it, I'm done. I'm going over there". Ellis grinned triumphantly. He liked the wolves and their boyish personalities. Although he was still anxious around their wolf forms, he enjoyed their company. The pack, well the ones that he had met, did not treat him with the same tension as they did the Cullens. They treated him like a human. And that made Ellis feel more human than he had felt in a long time.

Seth sniggered at Jacob's retreating back. "Don't mind him", he teased. "He's just upset that he's not with Bella". Jacob flashed them both the middle finger over his back.

Seth laughed again. That breathy, howling sound. Ellis began grinning. "Honestly, I really can't take you seriously. That laugh is just too much". There was a thump as Seth promptly slid of the rock again. Ellis could practically hear the sizzling as the snow dissolved around his skin.

Ellis waited patiently, leaning against a snow covered tree, as Seth calmed down and picked himself up. "You finished?" He asked, his lips curling up at the edges.

"You know, you're different from the others", Seth remarked. He strode closer to Ellis, propping an arm on the tree above Ellis' shoulder. Ellis did not shy away from the sudden closeness, merely raising an eyebrow. He could smell dog, water and pine as Seth's heat radiated off his body.

"Really? Other than the fact I'm much younger", Ellis joked. The small amount of proximity between them was beginning to make him nervous.

"You're more human", Seth breathed, eyes tracing over Ellis' face. "You joke with us, despite being scared of us. You show your emotion on your face. I can read you".

"Really?" Ellis muttered, tone matching Seth's. "That's only because I let you. If there's an enemy, make the enemy your friend and they will be less likely to kill you".

Seth pulled back, the mood broken. "Is that what you did with that vampire Victoria?" He asked, eyes suddenly angry. "Become her friend so she would not kill you. And when she became to much, you come running to us for protection. Are using us? Are you using me?" He watched Ellis in disbelief, his eyes filled with betrayal.

Ellis hadn't moved. His face had hardened, taking on the stoic expression he had worn when he was with Victoria. As he crossed his arms, the sleeve of his t-shirt fell back slightly, exposing the bracelet of teeth that hung on his wrist. They clinked slightly against each other but the sound was lost in the storm.

"If I said no", Ellis spoke softly but Seth was still able to hear him. "I would be lying. But- that is not the whole truth either". He watched as Seth paced for a moment. The wolf boy seemed uncharacteristically angry and frustrated.

"Why are you so affected by this?" Ellis wondered out loud in confusion. Seth stopped and whirled around, glaring at the vampire with his honey brown eyes.

"I thought wrong, you're not human at all", Seth spat. "If you were human, you'd know why I'm upset. You're just like every other blood sucker, using others for your own motive. I was stupid for feeling different".

Ellis felt something in him ache at Seth's words. For some reason, he felt hurt. It confused him. He stared helplessly as Seth turned and stalked off into the woods. There was a meaty sound and Ellis watched Seth's golden brown tail flicker between the trees.

What did he do wrong?
