-Emma POV-

A few days later, Jacob was coming...

Everyone's eyes began to look darker and darker, they had to hunt soon.

Lexa was staying with Charlie, since I didn't want our dog to be on the menu...

"Jake, is that you?" asked Bella and I felt Jacob running up the stairs.

Rosalie stood in front of Bella like a guard...

"I'm glad you came" said Bella, she was looking sicker and sicker...

"Close enough" said Rosalie.

"What's your problem?" asked Jacob.

"Rose, it's okay" said Bella and Jacob walked passed Rosalie.

He sat in front of Bella.

"You look terrible" he said with a smile.

"Yeah, it's nice to see you, too" said Bella.

"So, are you going to tell me what's wrong with you?" he asked.

"Rose, you want to help me up?" she asked and she slowly stood up, revealing her big tummy.

Jasper rubbed my back, he knew it wasn't easy for me to see my sister like this.

Jacob looked angry at Edward. "You did this!"

Emmett stopped Jacob from getting closer to Edward.

"We didn't know it was even possible" said Carlisle.

"What is it?" asked Jacob.

"I'm not sure" said Carlisle. "Ultrasounds and needles won't penetrate the embryonic sac"

"I can't see it either" said Alice, who was holding Lewis's hand. "And I can't see Bella's future anymore"

"Emma?" asked Jacob.

"I don't know" I answered. "I can sense it, but it's strange. It's both dead and alive"

"We've been researching legends, but there isn't much to go on" said Carlisle. "What we do know is that it's strong. And fast-growing"

"Why haven't you done anything? Take it out of her!" shouted Jacob.

"This is none of your business, dog" said Rosalie.

"Rose!" said Esme. "All this fighting isn't good for Bella"

"The foetus isn't good for Bella" said Alice.

"Say the word, Alice. 'Baby'. It's just a little baby" said Rosalie.

"Possibly" said Jasper.

"Carlisle, you've got to do something" said Jacob.

"No" said Bella. "It's not his decision. It's not any of yours"

I had enough and I stood up.

"Emma" said Emmett and wanted to stop me, but I glowed my eyes at him.

"Don't, Emmett" I threatened. "I don't want to hurt you. I just need to be alone for a minute"

Jasper wanted to follow me. "Alone, Jazz"

He looked hurt, but he understood. I walked away and put my headphones on.

In the garden, I turned the volume up to its maximum.

And I let my tears fall. Every time I look at Bella, I only sense death.

I didn't know if that would mean she would become a vampire, or she would die forever...

Not long after, I sensed the wolves gathering up...

'What is happening?'

It didn't feel good, I was nervous... on edge...

"Emma?" Jasper ran to me and touched my elbows. "What's wrong?"

"I don't know" I whispered. "I... I don't know. The wolves... something is happening..."

Jasper took me in his arms and I managed to calm a little bit down.

'Bella... they're coming for Bella...'

"Oh my god" I whispered.

We ran inside, and I looked at Bella.

"Bells, stay here" I said and looked at Edward. "Jacob is coming, listen to what he has to say. The wolves are coming after Bella"

He walked to the window where he could listen to Jacob.

"Emma?" said Bella.

I looked at her, and I only sensed death coming for her...

"Are you okay?" she asked and I shook my head.

"No, I'm not" I said.

"Sam's lost the element of surprise" said Jacob when he told us Sam's plan. "And he doesn't want to take you on outnumbered. So he's not going to come at you head on. He's got the place surrounded and he'll wait for his opportunity"

"We won't get through without a fight" said Emmett.

"No fights" said Carlisle. "We won't be the ones to break the treaty"

"The treaty is void, at least in Sam's mind" said Jacob.

"Not in ours" said Esme.

"Carlisle, no one's hunted for weeks" said Emmett.

"We'll make do" said Esme.

I took Jasper his hand, his control was better, but it was still hard for him.

"Maybe I could talk to Sam" I said. "I mean, if we explain it to him. Maybe he'll change his mind"

"Emma" said Jacob. "He won't listen to you. He knows you'll side with the Cullens. He'll even take you down, if it comes to it"

"You've done us a great service, Jacob. Thank you" said Carlisle.

That night, I felt the wolves surrounding us...

I felt uneasy...

"Darling?" Jasper sat next to me on his bed.

"Sorry" I said. "I know I'm feeling uneasy"

"We all are" he said and held my hand.

"We're gonna be okay" I told myself. "We're gonna be okay..."

Jasper took me in his arms and kissed my hair.

'This mess sucks...'

Bella couldn't eat anymore, she got sicker every day...

In the meantime we searched legends, myths, anything we could find about what was inside Bella.

Edward stormed out of the medical room.

I ran inside to see Bella, who was crying.

I just hugged her and let her cry.

Bella laid down in the couch and was feeling cold.

"Are you cold?" asked Edward.

"I got it" said Jacob and moved closer to Bella. "Don't do that"

"What?" asked Bella.

"Smile like I am your favourite person in the world" said Jacob.

"You're one of them" said Bella. "Feels complete when you're here, Jake"

She was about to throw up again, but there wasn't anything in her stomach to throw up...

"We need to find a way to get some food into her system" said Esme.

"If I could only see the foetus" said Alice.

"The baby" corrected Rosalie.

"Maybe I could figure out what it wants" said Alice.

"Think you might be right" said Edward to Jacob. "Jacob just had an idea"

"It wasn't an idea. It was a snide comment" said Jacob.

"What were you thinking?" asked Carlisle.

"That it's probably just looking for someone to sink its teeth into" said Jacob.

Jasper began to tense up.

"He's thirsty" said Bella.

"I know the feeling" said Emmett.

"If it's craving, it's not going to want animal blood" said Edward.

"I have some O negative laid aside for Bella" said Carlisle.

"Walk with me" I said to Jasper and he took my hand.

We were soon joined by Alice, Lewis and Emmett.

Jasper could smell the blood, but he managed to stay in control.

"You're doing great, Jasper" I whispered and soothed his hand with my thumb.

"I don't know how much longer we can hold on" said Emmett. "Even Emma is beginning to smell appealing"

I looked at Jasper who squeezed my hand gently.

"Well, it's a good thing I can handle myself" I said and Emmett snorted.
