《The Banshee (Jasper Hale x OC)》Chapter 32

-Emma POV-
It was almost time for Bella her wedding.
Jasper and I had been living together for a while now, and everything felt perfect.
But Alice ordered us to help her get everything ready for the wedding.
Bella was a little bit mad at me for making her wedding twice as big, so that when I ever get married, the wedding will be smaller... hopefully...
"So, could you stay with Bella for the night?" asked Jasper the day before the wedding.
"Oh bloody hell, what are you boys planning?" I asked and he chuckled.
"Nothing too bad, we just need a place to hang after the hunting, where Alice isn't around" he said and I sighed.
"Fine, but nobody comes in my art room" I said and he nodded.
"I promise" he said and kissed my cheek.
He got back to working for Alice, while I looked at Bella, who tried to walk on her high heels.
"Yeah, Alice. If you ever try to give me a pair like that. I'll kill you" I said and she rolled her eyes.
Bella almost fell and I snorted.
"Ehm... you just have to break them in" said Alice to Bella.
"I've been breaking them in. For three days" said Bella, making me laugh.
Alice shot a glare at me and I stopped laughing.
"Can I just go barefoot?" asked Bella and Alice glared at me again.
"Do not listen to any ideas from Emma" she said and I was offended. "So, no, absolutely not"
"Just thinking it's a little much, you know?" said Bella. "The dress and the shoes... and all of this"
We saw the boys passing us with the benches, it was kind of funny.
"No, it's exactly enough" said Alice. "Tomorrow will be perfect"
"Where do you want them, boss?" asked Emmett, who passed us with a branch of a tree.

"On either side of the aisle" said Alice.
"What aisle?" asked Rosalie.
"Does no one have vision?" asked Alice, even Lewis sighed when she went down the stairs to help.
Bella took of the heels and I showed her the bag with lower ones.
"You are a lifesaver" she said and I smiled.
"You're welcome" I said.
Alice came back and I hid the shoes quickly.
"You, go home and get lots of beauty sleep" she said. "And Emma, make sure she sleeps"
I saluted. "Yes, Ma'am" I said and she smiled.

Charlie was happy to see me again.
My room was still the same.
"Hello, darling" I smiled when I sensed and heard Jasper.
"Hello, Cowboy" I said and he hugged me from behind. "Shouldn't you be in a bachelor party?"
He kissed my neck. "I have a few more minutes" he whispered.
I sensed that Edward was in the room next door.
I turned around and kissed him on his lips.
He pulled me closer and deepened our kiss.
Before we could go any further I broke our kiss.
"We don't have time for that" I whispered and he pouted a little bit, making me chuckle. "You should go, have fun. And don't break our house"
"I'll pick you up in the morning" he whispered and kissed me softly on my lips.
"I'll be waiting" I whispered back and he was gone.
I sensed Lewis, Emmett, Edward and Jasper leave.
I heard Bella scream and I ran to her room.
"Bells? Bells! Are you okay?" I asked.
She hugged me and grabbed my face between her hands.
"You're still alive" she whispered.
"Of course I'm still alive, Bells" I said and hugged her. "I'll be living forever, remember?"
"Sorry, I had a nightmare" she said.

"It's okay" I whispered. "It wasn't real"
~
"What did I say about beauty sleep?" asked Alice when she did Bella her make-up. "Emma, why didn't she sleep?"
"She had a nightmare, Alice" I said.
Alice looked at me and at my dress, my arms weren't covered anymore, I was wearing the bracelet Jasper had given me for my 18th birthday. She was smiling and returned to Bella her make-up.
"It was just wedding jitters" said Bella.
"Do you need some help?" asked Rosalie when she walked in. "I could do her hair"
"Really?" said Bella.
"Please. I am not offended by your choice of groom" said Rosalie.
"Just my blatant lack of respect for mortality" said Bella.
"Essentially" said Rosalie.
"Weddings" smiled Alice. "They bring everyone together"
When Rosalie was done with Bella her hair, she wanted to do mine too.
So I let her, she always liked doing my hair.
"Alice? Bella? Emma?" it was René.
"In here, mom" said Bella.
René walked in and she began to cry when she saw Bella.
"Oh, my God!" she said. "You're so beautiful. Oh, honey... Crap! My mascara"
"Here" I said and gave her a tissue.
"Thank you, Emma" she said and she saw my arms. "Oh, Emma! You're not covering your arms anymore" she cried some more.
"Yeah, I know" I said.
"Charlie, get in here" said René.
"You sure? I don't want to..." I heard Charlie say.
"Oh, just get in here!" I shouted.
He walked in and he was wearing a suit.
'Not bad, Charlie'
"I know. I look hot" he said and Bella and I laughed.
"We thought you needed something blue" said René.
"And something old" said Charlie while opening the box. It was a beautiful hair clip... "Besides your mother"
"Nice" said René.
"It was Grandmother Swan's" said Charlie.
"But we added the sapphires" said René.
"It's beautiful, you guys" said Bella and gave the clip to Rosalie, who putted it in her hair.
"It's your first family heirloom" said René, and those words made me kind of sad.
Bella wouldn't get any children, and I can't ever have children...
"Pass on to your daughter, and her daughter..." said René and she began to cry again.
"Mom, I love it" said Bella and she wanted to hug her mother.
But Alice stopped her. "Nope! No smudging my masterpiece" she said.
"She's right" said René.
"Hello, ladies" I heard Jasper. "Chief Swan"
"Jasper. I told you to call me Charlie" said Charlie and I smiled.
"Oh, are you Jasper?" said René and Jasper nodded.
"It's nice to meet you" he said.
"My, my. Emma, he's very cute" said René and I blushed. "When are you two getting married?"
"René!" I shushed her.
Jasper smiled and walked closer to me.
"You look beautiful, darling" he whispered and kissed my hand.
"You look quite handsome yourself" I said and René was having a little freak out.
"Would you come with me? There are some members of the family who would like to meet you" he said and I nodded.

Wildling
Blurb: Silas--a scavenger living off the ruins of humanity--has spent his entire life fighting tooth and nail to provide for himself and his crew. But when a scavenging run goes awry and he's snatched up by an android patrol, he finds himself thrown into a cage and priced to sell as a pet. And when a suitor comes calling, he fears the worst: that he'll be turned into a Domestic, a human lapdog brainwashed into total obedience. Instead, he discovers an equally disturbing truth: that the creatures who stole his world have created a videogame the likes of which Earth has never seen; a sprawling, game-like theme park where humans are the Avatars and androids are the players who control them. And to make matters worse, his android guide is as hopeless as they come, having gotten all of her previous Avatars killed in record time. So if Silas wants to regain his freedom, he'll not only have to fight his way through a world that was specifically designed to murder him in brutal fashion--he'll also have to convince his android guide that he should be the one calling the shots. FAQS: Q: Who are you, handsome stranger? A: I'm Kyle Kirrin, the author of Shadeslinger, book 1 of The Ripple System, published by Portal Books, and I write crunchy LitRPG. Q: What is Wildling? And is it complete? A: Wildling is a crunchy LitRPG mash up of Fantasy and Science Fiction. And yup, Wildling is already complete at 64 chapters, or about 120,000 thousand words. You're looking at something like a third draft here--it's fairly polished, but it hasn't been picked over by a copy editor yet nor has my developmental editor seen it. Q: Upload schedule? A: 5 initial chapters today (2/15/2021) and one chapter a day for the next month. After that I'll probably slow down to 2 or 3 chapters a week until the story is complete. Q: How crunchy is it? A: It's pretty crunchy. I'd put it on the same tier as Ascend/The Land/RSSG, but it might be a bit crunchier than those three? Q: Is this the first book in a series or a web novel or what? And what are your plans for it? A: It's currently a standalone with series potential. Full disclosure: this story may head the way of my publisher eventually, but will be available on RR for quite a while no matter what. Likely several months after it's complete with plenty of warning before/if it's taken down. Q: What kind of build does the MC create? A: Sword and board! Q: Crafting? A: Plenty! Crafting isn't as center stage as it is in The Way of the Shaman, but it's close. Q: Base building? A: Two fully separate, distinct bases, both of which play a major role in the story. Q: VRMMO? Portal? Reincarnation or what? A: This one's a bit tricky. Basically an advanced race has created a game-like world that closely resembles a theme park. Think Westworld but with copious amounts of loot. And the MC has to fight his way through that to earn his freedom. Q: Permadeath? A: Nope! The MC gets 3 lives to play through the entirety of the game world, and death is extremely punishing, but not fatal. Q: Harem? Or romance? A: No and no. Q: Cursing? Blood? A: Quite a bit of cursing, yeah. There's blood, too, but it's not a gory book by any means. Q: How can I support? A: Instead of a Patreon/donations etc, I'd ask that you consider giving my debut LitRPG Shadeslinger a chance. It's free on Kindle Unlimited and the audio is already out narrated by Travis Baldree. It's an epic fantasy VRMMO where the main character gets 3 days of exclusive access to a new game plus a snarky, talking axe to guide him through it in exchange for agreeing to become the target of a serverwide manhunt once the Head Start period ends. Q: How's it similar to Wildling? And how's it different? A. The crunch level is very similar, but Shadeslinger is a much lighter, epic fantasy take on the genre. It's also VRMMO, but without any real world components aside from the first chapter. The MC is very different--he comes off as a bit of a jerk early on and can take a bit to warm up to, especially before his backstory is revealed--but he's also got a talking axe that constantly puts him in his place. Shadeslinger's a much more humorous story in general, and it's a great deal more polished as well. Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy Wildling!
