《memoirs || beomryu》Chapter 12

It was now after recess and all the students are expected to be in their respective classrooms as they wait for their teachers to come. While waiting for their teacher Beomgyu suddenly fell asleep, probably because he still lacks the sleep he and his body actually needed for the day. As Beomgyu continued to sleep he then went to dreamland.
Beomgyu was walking around a room that kind of looked like an office of a woman. It had all sorts of paintings on the walls. The color was blue with hints of gold accents here and there. Judging by the furniture in the room it was like from the past. As Beomgyu walked around the room he inspected every little nook and cranny of it, just to see a normal office.
As Beomgyu was about to sit down on the couch in the office the door of the room suddenly opened, where two people entered, Beomgyu quickly stood up and went near them to look at them, but it was no avail because both their faces were still blurry in his point of view. Beomgyu quickly threw his hand in the air as a sign of frustration and then looked back to where those two stood.
But as Beomgyu did that he was hit hard on the face by the people's faces. The two female's faces were both beautiful and elegant. The both of them also had really different vibes with them surrounding them as they stand in the middle of the room staring at one another. One had an elegant face that also had a youthful look, she was also really tall. Judging by her clothes it would seem like her rank in the society is much higher than the other girl.
While the other one had a really youthful face, meaning that she's younger than the other one, Beomgyu then cautiously stared at the two figures before him waiting for it to at least be a more focused on the figures. But as he waited the older girl turned around to look at the younger girl's gaze. The younger girl's gaze then tried not to look at the other one's gaze as it is much more intimidating.

Beomgyu then looked at the two while having an eyebrow raised at them. But as Beomgyu did that he saw that younger girl's face and he was almost immediately petrified to his spot. It was as if Beomgyu was stucked onto the ground, as if he was glued to it or something as if he looked through Medusa's eyes and then petrified.
Meanwhile Ryujin seemed to have noticed that Beomgyu was missing from the gang. Even after receiving an announcement from their professor that they should start working on their project, while he was in a very important meeting with the staff of the school. Ryujin then looked around the perimeter just to see Beomgyu, sleeping on his armchair.
Ryujin quickly let out a sigh and told Chaeryeong and Taehyun that she'll be waking Beomgyu up. The other two quickly agreed upon it since they also need Beomgyu for making the project. Although Ryujin doesn't want anything to do with Beomgyu for her grade's sake she was unwillingly going to wake him up.
As Ryujin was approaching Beomgyu towards his seat, she noticed that his face was making all sorts of expressions. Which Ryujin quickly took as a bad sign and quickly made her way towards Beomgyu and looked at him. Ryujin then looked around the room to look for Minju and ask her whether she can sit on her seat, but to her luck she was unsuccessful. Minju wasn't anywhere near them or in their classroom.
But as Ryujin did that she heard Beomgyu saying something almost inaudible for her to hear.
Beomgyu whispered underneath his breath as he looked at the two figures standing before him. Beomgyu's face had a shock look plastered onto it, as he looked at the two figures.
Beomgyu whispered as he pointed at the older female, with curiosity written all over his face.
The youthful looking woman said to Minju, as she looked at her.
Beomgyu whispered underneath his breath as he looked around the place a bit more.
Minju said to Tzuyu, as she looked at her straight in the eyes.
Tzuyu said to Minju as she looked at her almost glaring at her.
After Tzuyu had said that to Minju, she was quickly frozen onto the ground. Hearing that statement coming out from Tzuyu's mouth made Minju's blood boil at the thought of her is being separated from Beomgyu.

Minju managed to stutter out the words out of her mouth, but it was more like she was whispering.
Tzuyu said to Minju as she turned around and looked at her, sternly. Before turning around again and started walking once again.
'Minju? As in the Minju I know? But that's impossible... This might've been a huge coincidence... There's just no way...' Beomgyu thought as he looked at the younger female, once more.
MInju protested back to Tzuyu as she took a step towards her, and held wrist then turned her around.
Tzuyu said as she took back her wrist from Minju's grip, and then glared at her.
Tzuyu then continued to walk towards her desk and sat down on the chair. As Tzuyu was busy reading and approving of all sorts of files and documents sent to her. After a couple of moments of just standing in the middle of the room, Minju once again got a glare from Tzuyu.
Tzuyu said with authority in her voice as she started flipping the pages of the next document that she'll be signing soon enough.
Beomgyu then looked over the younger female, and he could've sworn that he saw her clench her teeth and her hand that was behind her back was rolled up into a fist, it was violently shaking. Beomgyu's eyes then looked at the girl and backed away slowly, not wanting to attract any attention from the other two people in the room, not that he can attract attention. The younger female then let out a sigh and her fist suddenly went back to its original form.
Minju said
Beomgyu whispered underneath his breath. As his surroundings suddenly turn into smoke, disappearing before he can even comprehend whatever was happening.
Beomgyu whispered underneath his breath. Ryujin was still beside him, still contemplating whether she would wake him up or not. But as Ryujin heard that she slowly looked toward Beomgyu's sleeping face, as she did that her chest suddenly felt so weird, it was as if tightening and it was getting harder to breathe for her.
Ryujin then decided to wake Beomgyu up, well it more like she wanted to wake him up, instead of hearing him say Minju's name. Ryujin then soon after started shaking Beomgyu as if her life depended on it.
After a couple of tries Ryujin had finally successfully woken Beomgyu up from his nap. Once Beomgyu was finally awake, he started to look around the place while yawning, stretching, and rubbing his eyes. As Beomgyu was finally awake and was done looking around the place his eyes quickly spotted Ryujin who was sittinig right beside him looking at him weirdly.
Beomgyu said to Ryujin as he looked at her with curiosity written all over his face.
Ryujin who seems to be in a daze like state, quickly snapped out of it and looked at Beomgyu, before answering his earlier question. Ryujin said to Beomgyu with a bit of hesitation in her voice as she fiddled with her fingers.
Beomgyu asked Ryujin while tilting his head to the side.
Ryujin's head then quickly jolted up. Ryujin said to Beomgyu as she made a cute little angry face, which made him chuckle up a bit.
Beomgyu said to Ryujin as he stopped chuckling.
Ryujin said to Beomgyu before looking away from him with her cheeks puffed out in annoyance. Beomgyu then laughed silently, finding his companion being so cute, but then it hit him in the face.
'Did I just seriously thought Ryujin was cute?! What's wrong with me!?' Beomgyu thought as he mentally slapped himself across his face.
It was getting a bit awkward so Beomgyu decided to break it before it actually thickens up and gets harder to break. Beomgyu said to Ryujin as he looked at her making eye contact with one another.
Ryujin said to Beomgyu to answer his earlier question as he just nodded his head understanding what she meant. Ryujin then soon after released out a sigh and stood up from where she was sitting and the gestured for Beomgyu to follow her.
Ryujin said to Beomgyu as she led the way towards where Chaeryeong and Taehyun are currently at. Beomgyu then soon after followed Ryujin.

Given a year to prepare by the mysterious ‘system’ for contact with the wider galaxy, humanity must work to ensure the Earth’s defense is ready to meet any challenge. Sadly, most of the world seems dedicated to tearing itself apart as the year-end deadline gets closer. The west is in barely contained Chaos, while the east descends into internal conflict and war. The Pillar Forts, one of the few successful projects of the United Nations headed by the United States, stand ready to defend humanity against any invasion that may come through the strange Connection Pillars that appeared on each continent. Massive steel and stone walls that surround the Connection Pillars. They are filled with deadly men and women trained in all manner of warfare, each trained in the newly acquired System with skills and magical abilities that they put to deadly purpose. Beside these brave warriors, tanks, helicopters, artillery and more stand ready to defend humanity at each of these powerful installations. But, can they overcome the disparity in levels and experience between themselves and the forces that threaten them and the rest of humanity? Main Characters Jessica Brown- A young African American girl. Her 18th birthday in Detroit was the same day the systems message appeared. She discovered she was Level 7, much higher than most of the rest of the world. Why she is blessed, or cursed, with the power she doesn’t know. But what she does know is that she rather likes the feeling that comes with manipulating magic. The week after her birthday, government workers started testing every person in the US in a massive census effort of skills and abilities. Jessica Brown found herself conscripted into the US Magical Corp, a new branch of the US Military, and shipped off to a Pillar Fort. Somewhere hot and muggy in her ancestors’ home of Africa. As she grows stronger, she finds she has some connection to the pillars. While everyone else sees beauty or danger when they look at the pillars, after connection is made all Jessica can see is a Tree. A tree the size of the entire universe. Isaka Smith - is a third generation American and farmer who just wants to be left alone. But she is dragged into the situation by events beyond her control. When people in her small town had to deal with rioters and looters after the system announcement, she rallied them to defend themselves, earning her a trait that the government found extraordinarily useful. After a visit to a local reservation, she finds herself conscripted to lead one of the many small support towns erected around the great pillar forts. Not near her old home, but in far-flung Africa. John McIntire, the “Fighting Bull” -The commander of the African Fort, but because of circumstances beyond his ability to contend with shortly after taking command after being re-activated from retirement, he finds communication with his chain of command increasingly difficult. The US government, hell, even the United Nations, seems to have fallen into complete and utter chaos. The African Union is embroiled in a bitter civil war just outside his door, and supposedly, most of the world governments are in similar situations. Meanwhile, John must do his best to be ready to facilitate diplomacy, or to match the hostile argument of whatever force might come through the pillar of light when the year timer finishes counting down. Can our heros defend Earth from outside threats, while it tares itself apart? Or will they need to rebuild from the ground up? DEDICATION: This story is dedicated to my father who passed away recently. Jim Holloway, you’ll be missed you old silverback gorilla. Love you dad. Always have, always will.

Myth of The World's Trees
And Simon answered their call with a single statement that nobody understood "Et super mos absit hoc hodie!" "Yah!" "WWWaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!" "AAAlllllaaaaallllaaaaallllaaaa!" "EeEEellllleeeeeelllllleeeeeeuuuuuuu!" I, too, yelled a battle cry at the top of my lungs. I had no idea what Simon had just spouted but from Camilla's giggling, I could guess that Simon thought that spouting nonsense was his way of getting out of the earlier predicament. "I forbid death upon this day," Camilla said. "What?" I answered a bit at a loss. "Ancient Latin," she replied smugly, "He said 'I forbid death upon this day'." I laughed aloud "Then he is gonna be really disappointed in everyone here," Camilla did not reply and instead took a deep breath. I did the same, zoning out everything in my surroundings. The environment became a world of electrical pulses traveling across several networks. I perceived the world through my lightning and sped my heartbeat to inhuman levels. I was present now, at this moment, at this point in time. I could feel the electrifying air saturating my lungs, the electrified ground vibrating at the rhythm of the approaching enemy. Then I took a step forward, everyone followed in tandem. Camilla the first, and then the others. Then I took a second step, and this time everyone followed simultaneously. Third step… Fourth step… Fifth step… Then light jogging… Speeding up… Running … Running faster…. Then suddenly, everyone disappeared into motes of light particles that re-constructed itself hundreds of feet above the horde, dozens of miles away from our initial position. We were literally 'diving' into battle.-------------------------------------------------------------------Despite a rough childhood in the slums, Omari had everything a guy could want - a loving girlfriend, an understanding sister, a wonderful teacher, and his dream job.
