You had never expected it to come to this.
You watch as people scutter around, trying to salvage whatever they could of their fallen nation, some have fled, later to become the "bad guys", some stuck around, wanting to aid in recovering from a battle that they had no part of, although in the case of some, a war they had too much of a part of.
Your eyes drag around the area, until they finally land on one spot. The spot that really aggravated all the shit that was already going down. They hastily scratched lyrics to a song visible in your mind, albeit not at this distance.
Soot. That's what covered this once great nation. It seemed to be all that was left. Ironic, isn't it? Wilbur Soot, he built this great nation up from the ground, and then took it apart just as easily. Although. Maybe not quite. You knew the people of this nation. Of your nation. They were resilient. They weren't going to give up on L'manburg because of a few, albeit massive, explosions.
Your eyes caught onto Tubbo and Tommy, talking in hushed voices and looking around, as if trying to find someone they could trust. Those two had the best bond out of everyone here... you really hope that doesn't change. For their sakes.
Your eyes lead you to Philza now. Gripping tightly onto the diamond sword that he used to spell out his own sons demise. Devastated, as a father usually is. The poor man, you knew as well as he did that Wilbur used to be such a kind and loving man, it hurt for you to watch now, knowing that the man who you admired so dearly, who you would've followed to the ends of the earth, betrayed you, and the country for, for... you don't even know. He had everything, and then he lost it, and then he regained it! only to throw it all away... You never understood Wilbur.

You think back to when you first met him, standing behind the Dream Team at the first round of explosions.
"Independence, or death. If we get no revolution, then we want nothing." he spoke, the man with nothing, with such an intensity that you couldn't help but be swayed by his words.
"We would rather die, than give into you and join your SMP" Sapnap noticed as you relaxed, taking a step forward, you couldn't quite tell why, considering you pledged allegiance to your brother with the DreamSMP. He tilted his head at you, confused.
"You can blow up one piece of TNT in our door, it means nothing to us" But you wanted to help L'Manburg. You wanted to stop your family from tearing the nation limb from limb. You put a hand on Dreams shoulder
"Are you sure this is a good idea? can't we just leave them be? It's not like they're really doing anything harmful" You tried to reason, but Dream just scoffed. You noticed the tired, thankful looks from the L'Manburg side, as Dream shot the TNT, lighting it, your eyes widened and you couldn't help yourself when you shouted
"GET TO THE WATER, L'MANBURG IS RIGGED" you raced towards your once enemies, not looking back at the betrayed looks of your family as you helped them all get to the water as the TNT exploded, although then once you did you saw it, the hurt from your brother and his friends. You looked down in shame, but you just, couldn't let yourself let them get hurt. The L'Manburg people looked at you in shock, they knew they hadn't planned anything underhanded with you, and were very confused, they headed into Tommy's secret base as you waited, unsure which side to go with now until you heard a gentle voice beside you, a hand on your shoulder and a thankful grin.

"Thank you, (Y/N), really. I'm sure a few of my peoples lives have been saved because of you, you will always have a place in L'Manburg if you so want it, even if you are American" He winked and then followed after the others.
It was a good time. One of which sparked many good memories afterwards, especially after the war ended and you could finally spend time enjoying your families presence, as well as your new friends. You built bonds with each member, some much stronger than others, such as you and Tubbo's, Tommy still didn't quite trust you, but that was okay. Because when you saw Wilbur smile at you, it was all you needed.. Until the election. Schlatt, he ruined everything everyone had worked for, and had the audacity to invite you. Safe to say it was clear to you who's side you'd be on this time.
"My first decree, as the president of L'Manburg" You sigh, smiling at your friends, you had voted for them, but they lost.... even if you don't quite agree with how they lost.
"The of this great country!" You feel your blood start to freeze at that, your smile disappearing, this is probably just Schlatt playing it up, yeah?
"Is to the citizenship, of and " you pause, looking at your friends who held equally shocked expressions, before turning to glare at the new government, those, those, those assholes! What the fuck?
"Get 'em out of here!" Schlatt cries, grinning wildly. You feel your heart start to speed up as you looked around for your brother, but you couldn't spot him in this mess. Was he even here? What you did see however, is Wilbur and Tommy booking it out of there. Everyone starting to crowd around them, shooting, how, how could they?!
"Run Tommy, Run!" you heard, no, no no. You just got everyone together, why does it all have to fall apart now? You look back as Schlatt calls Tubbo to the stage, giving him a high up position and ordering him to go hunt Tommy down. This. This wasn't right, this was so wrong, you look at Niki and Fundy, Niki sharing your expression, while Fundy didn't seem to hold even the slightest bit of remorse at his own father being thrown out of his country.
Safe to say, that was absolutely one of the worst days of your life. A close second would be when Wilbur started to spiral into insanity, but you didn't really want to think back on that at the moment, it was all, this was all so overwhelming. You just want to go back to the days where everyone got along, where everyone was alive and well and people weren't scared that their friends would turn on them at any instance. But you know that's just idealistic, and you're sure you'll never get to see days like that again.
You get up, coughing the soot out of your lungs. You've been sitting on this hill for a while, you can't stay here forever. You had a promise to keep.

Star wars: Selfish virtue.
''He's broken, are you sure this is a good idea?'' ''It's gonna be alright, it'll become a different timeline. I will supply the power for it myself, won't cost you anything and you can watch it play out with me.'' ''If you're sure dear, the last time we did this it didn't turn out so good for the world though.'' ''It's gonna be fine! ...Probably.'' A man yanked out of our world is put into another one on the whims of beings out of his comprehension or knowledge. Journey with him as he tries for the things that were ever out of his reach in his last life, enjoyment, fulfillment, happiness... and maybe even love. This is my first time writing anything. I'll be taking it as a learning experience, though obviously, I'd hope that people enjoy it. When you find something to criticize, and you will. I at least hope you'll word it in a constructive way so I could remedy and/or learn from it. Enjoy.

Star Wars Episode 7: A Corpse Through Which the Force Speaks
The fall of the Empire heralds dark times for humanity. As the New Republic concedes much of the galaxy to alien rule, a group of special forces stormtroopers must find a way to survive the "new normal". This fanfiction sets an alternate course of events in response to general dissatisfaction with the sequel trilogy. In terms of continuity, this story only takes into account the events of the first six movies and Rogue One. Please note: This story comes from the school of thought that the purpose of art is to provoke thought, rather than distract us from reality. I hope that the disturbing parts of this story do just that! This story is COMPLETE.
