/3rd Person POV/
"Tommy's going to do what?" M/n asked, looking disturbed. Sam sighed, crossing his arms. The two had met each other when M/n was wandering around. "Tommy said he wanted to visit Dream. As a kind of final goodbye," Sam said.
"You can't let him go!" M/n protested, "Who knows what might happen? This is Dream we're talking about, anything could go wrong!"
Sam shot M/n a look, causing M/n to grit his teeth. "I'm letting him in whether you like it or not. This is his choice."
M/n bit his lip, his foot tapping the ground quickly.
"How long until you let him in?" M/n said.
"A few minutes."
M/n began to run down the platform, "Where are you going?!" Sam called out.
"To talk to Tommy!"
-Timeskip-
M/n jogged down the pathway, looking around. His eyes landed on Tommy, who was walking in the opposite direction. "Tommy!" He called out, causing the said boy to turn around. "Sam told me what you were going to do."
Tommy looked at the ground, sitting down on a bench. He waved M/n over.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" M/n asked, sitting next to Tommy, who had his head in his hands. Raising his head slightly, Tommy nodded.
"Yeah. It's been on my mind for a while. Ever since I came back from exile, I've had nightmares. I'm hoping, that if I go and face Dream, they'll stop."
M/n looked at Tommy with a concerned expression. He was being allowed to visit his tormentor. The man that had mentally manipulated him for weeks.
"I'll ask you one more time Tommy," M/n said softly, "Are you sure you want to do this?"

"I'm sure."
M/n nodded sadly, accepting that Tommy wasn't going to change his mind.
"Be careful," M/n muttered, pulling Tommy into a hug. He rested his head on top of Tommy's and felt as the boy's body shook. He slowly let go, letting Tommy do whatever he was going to do next.
Tommy stood up, and M/n followed. They both walked and walked until they arrived at the entrance of the prison. Sam stopped M/n from going any further, "You can't come in you know."
M/n held up his hand, in surrender. "I know", he whispered, "I'm just seeing him off."
Sam nodded, leaving the two alone. M/n gave Tommy a compassionate nod, and Tommy went through the doors. The last thing M/n saw before the doors closed, was the scared look in Tommy's eyes.
Please be ok...
-Timeskip-
M/n paced back and forth, he was getting impatient. It's been a week! Seven days, it had been seven fucking days since Tommy had gone into the prison. M/n had been pissed when Sam had told him that a security breach would be keeping Tommy in there even longer.
Today was supposed to be the last day of Tommy's imprisonment.
M/n waited anxiously outside of the prison.
And waited...
And waited...
.
.
.
"Alright Sam", M/n said, knocking at the entrance, "It's been hours, where's Tommy? He should be here now." Waiting for a response, he got none. About to knock again, M/n heard a response.
"Tommy's not coming out," Sam said, stepping out of the portal.
M/n was confused, "What do you mean? The week is up. He should be able to leave now."
Sam only shook his head. "U/n... Tommy's dead."
M/n's body went cold and stiff. "What?"
His anger rose.
"Dream beat him to death."

"I told you not to let him in there!"
"I didn't think Dream would do anything!"
M/n's anger boiled over.
He picked up Sam by the collar and slammed him into a wall. Sam felt the air leave his lungs, and his feet dangled over the floor. He struggled, but M/n had too strong of a hold.
M/n's eyes burned with rage. "THAT'S EXACTLY THE PROBLEM! YOU DIDN'T THINK!" He brought Sam away from the wall, only for M/n to slam him back into it, creating a small crack.
"YOU LEFT HIM IN THERE FOR SEVEN DAYS! I WAITED OUTSIDE THOSE GATES EVERYDAY, FOR HOURS! YOU DIDN'T THINK TO CHECK ON HIM?!"
Sam's eyes widened in terror. M/n's eyes were a faint purple sheen, and his teeth had sharpened. Sam gasped for air as M/n's grip tightened, but M/n himself seemed unaware of that fact.
At this point, M/n could only see red.
Sam had allowed Tommy to go in there ALONE.
There were no precautions set up to ensure the visitors' safety.
Tommy had been trapped with his tormentor for days.
M/n hadn't been able to get in to help Tommy.
He hadn't...
Been able...
To help...
Wow... You couldn't even save a kid, huh?
Are you that incompetent?
This is why your mother sent you here, so she wouldn't have to deal with your mistakes.
M/n's mind felt like it was caving in on itself, his thoughts scratching at his brain. Trying to dig themselves out.
He was brought back to reality when Sam went limp in his hands. M/n panicked, gently setting Sam on the floor. Feeling a pulse, he let out a shaky sigh of relief. Sam was still alive, just unconscious.
M/n stumbled out of the prison, and collapsed onto all fours. His body heaved, retching. Bile traveled up from his stomach and out his mouth. It hit the grass under him with a wet 'splat'.
Disgusted, M/n took a deep breath of air through his nose.
Mistakes have been made.
Chunks of regurgitated food had lodged themselves in M/n's nasal cavity. But when he snorted, they had dislodged and went into his mouth. Which he instantly spat out onto the ground. M/n walked over to the lake that surrounded the prison, cupping his hands.
Dipping his hands into the water, he brought them to his mouth. M/n sipped the water and swished it in his mouth. Gargling, he spat the nasty water onto the ground.
Then... he remembered what he did.
"Oh my God", M/n whispered in horror, staring at his reflection, "I could have killed him."
It was true. The pressure M/n had unconsciously been putting on Sam's windpipe could have killed him. Luckily, it only made him pass out.
M/n felt so ashamed. He had taken his frustration out on Sam. When he himself hadn't done enough to keep Tommy from going into the prison in the first place.
M/n looked at his reflection in disgust, his star-like freckles twinkling against his pitch-black skin. His appearance was so innocent and mythical looking.
A wolf in sheep's clothing is what described him best.
"Despite how I look... I really am a monster."

Of Righteous Evil
To wield the magical Arts. The power to manipulate nature itself. Follow Silas on his journey as he learns what it means to be a Mage. With war brewing on the horizon, Silas' plan to become a hero clashes with the harsh reality of conflict. Torn between contradicting emotions, he will have to reconsider his perceptions of both good and evil. Does the end truly never justify the means? Note from author (13.09.20): Sentences have been shortened, less commata used. Paragraphs have been split up. Meant to be "realistic" fantasy, with no overpowered protagonist or evil sorcerer trying to destroy the world. The focus lies on the characters, their progressions and their inner conflicts, coupled with an intricate magic system. Constructive criticism is highly appreciated! HIATUS Updates: 12.12.20 Chapter 1 & 2 are written together. The backstory of the parents will be integrated into one of the later chapters. 20.12.20 Prologue has been rewritten, fight added. Will now continue writing the chapters until the first arch is finished. 19.01.21 Chapter 15 is written. Will hopefully be able to write more from now on, university has been kinda rough these days. 08.04.21 Chapter 16 & 17 has been written. Beginning will be rewritten (again) to start with chapter 3. Chapter 1 & 2 will be shown through reocurring dreams / nightmares. 10.08.21 Rewriting of the first arc is complete and has been proofread twice. Plot of rest of book one is 80% complete. Will publish chapters once first book is finished and proofread. 06.12.21 Second arc is finished (chapter 24/31-33). First draft will likely be finished around February, after which I will edit a few suggestions of my beta readers and publish it on RR. Release schedule: Once a week on Sunday, chapters are around 3000 words long. (HIATUS, see last chapter for more info) Cover art by Riverman09

Rooms of the Desolate
Rooms of the Desolate is a collection of short stories designed to guide the reader through the many rooms and mysteries of the bleak and greyscale labyrinth of the Desolate. The first entry, "The Forever Tower" follows an unnamed wanderer climbing an endless, colourless tower; the only world they have ever known. As they slowly ascend alongside the masses, they consider the nature of their world and look to the corridors as temptation beckons. The second entry, "Production Line", follows an engineer in a boundless factory, who encounters a product that does not wish to bow to the overseers and makes them question their belief in the truth and duties they were made to believe. Content guidelines: Current entries do not include explicit profanity, but future entries may do so, hence the presence of that tag. Some entries do include gore and violence, though not currently to particularly extreme degrees. The Desolate is exactly that: a desolate world; as such, it is bleak, downtrodden, and may deal with mental struggles. Cover art credit: Adam Borkowski on Pexels.
