Viola looked at Glenn with a serious expression as if their eyes locked and unable to gaze away.
Viola knows the reason why Glenn always erase her memories after meeting her over and over again.
Glenn wanted to meet her and when he met her, he will erase her memories that becomes his habit.
However, once she remembered, she will not back down.
"I never asked you to erase my memories."
". . . Do you even know what you felt back then? Those memories m-"
"It is a painful memories. But that memories is also a part of my life. In life, you can't always experience the good, Glenn."
Viola was a bit dissapointed of how he protected her.
"It must've been painful for you too, right?"
His eyes went wide by her statement.
She raise her hand and clutch her chest. ". . . Because It's really painful for me."
Glenn couldn't hold it in anymore as he pull her hand and embrace her into a longing hug.
"It's really painful that erasing your memories just like a habit to me. Everytime you go out to the town, I always followed you everywhere. Always."
Viola who heard that, chuckled while remembering her time with him at the temple and he confessed that he's a weird stalker.
After they calmed down a bit, they sit together at the back garden where no one can see or find them.
Glenn rest his head on Viola's shoulder as he sigh of relief. ". . . I really wanted to do this. Spending time with you. . . and Gaul. He must be watching us from one of the stars."
Viola nodded with a satisfying smile while enjoying the warm atmosphere they created.
"Oh!" Glenn's eyes widened in realisation as he take off his familiar necklace from him.

Viola's eyes widened in realisation. "That's. . ."
"Yeah. It's the necklace I gave to Gaul. But now, I'm giving it to you."
He help her wear the necklace carefully much to her surprise.
"Is this really alright?" Viola asked, a bit worried.
"It's really alright. You can hide it under your dress. Remember that some promise we made still lives inside it. Gaul probably wants you to have it."
Viola blushed warmly while looking at the star sapphire necklace with the shape of sphere.
She feels calm and protected by it as she look at the sapphire. ". . . Thank you."
Glenn only smiled at her satisfyingly.
". . . By the way Glenn."
"Yeah?"
"Have you ever heard the Caitriona Marquessate?"
His eyes went wide by Viola's statement. "That Marquessate exists 11 years ago."
". . . What?" her eyes widened in shocked.
"I'm surprised to hear that from you. That Marquessate and your family has a 'thing' you know."
"What 'thing'?"
". . . Conflict. You father clearly massacred all of the Caitriona family leaving only dusts on the ground."
She cover her mouth with her hand while thinking of the tragedy that happened when she's just 5 years old.
". . . t-that's. . ."
"Your mother excluded."
Hearing that, Viola sighed of relief that her father didn't kill her mother. She's quite shocked by the current situation considering she didn't remember anything about this fact from her previous life.
Made her wondered more about her parents past.
Glenn glanced at Viola who is in a daze. He form a smile of relief as he grip her hand firmly like he will never let go. Viola noticed that as she turned her head towards him.
"Remember when I promised you I want to marry you?" he suddenly asked followed by a chuckle making Viola's eyes widened in surprise as she nodded. "That promise is still within me. Do you want to marry me?" he asked with a relaxing voice while looking at the dark sky filled with bright stars.

Viola look at him with wide eyes as if he exclaimed something crazy. She also turned her head towards the sky. "Do you loved me or love me?"
". . . The old me loved you. And the current me love you."
Viola smiled warmly by his calming and confident answer. The memories she just felt and see filled one of the emptiness inside her heart. ". . . then let's get married."
Viola stated calmly making Glenn's eyes widened in surprise that he almost choked on air. "You agree to that too quickly!"
Viola chuckled as she turned her head towards him. "But that's what you wanted, right?"
Glenn pouted as he look at her with disapproving expression. "Then say 'I love you' to me."
". . . I love you?"
"Hear that! You didn't sound sincere!" he exclaimed dramatically making Viola blinked in confusion. Glenn narrowed his eyes at her. "It's the kind of 'Love' for love interest! So don't see me as your family!" he shakes her shoulder multiple times.
For Viola, she never felt that kind of love both in her lives. That's why she mistook it as the love of family that Glenn easily predicted her simple way of thinking.
". . . but if we're married to each other, doesn't that mean we're family?"
Glenn facepalm as a long sigh escaped his mouth while thinking that it's manipulating her to marry him if she doesn't really know how she feels about him and he doesn't want that.
"You have to know how you feel about me first. Is it the kind of 'love' like siblings or romantically."
Viola nodded in understatement as Glenn sighed.
". . . You're not so romantic. . ." Glenn pouted as he turned his head to the other side.
Viola look at the lights from inside the hall as she squeeze Glenn's hand firmly. ". . . The banquet is going to end soon." she exclaimed with a serious expression written all over her face.
". . . Yeah."
"Your brother-" Viola started as Glenn turned his head towards her. ". . . He's not like you."
Glen laughed by her statement. "Of course he's not! He's evil!" he stated casually making Viola's eyes widened in surprise. ". . . To be bold, he's on the Emperor's side." he exclaimed as Viola look at him with wide eyes.
". . . what about you?"
"Of course I'm siding with your family if war breaks out."
". . . So there will be war?"
The smile on his lips faded as soon he heard that. He grip her hand firmly while looking at the ground.
". . . I hope not."
-
Viola look at her second brother as he turned his head towards her, noticing her presence.
"What's the matter Vio?" he asked as he put down his book on the table beside him.
Viola approach him as she sit in front of him. "Pardon my rudeness brother, but. . . could you tell me what happened between the Univers Dukedom and the Caitriona Marquessate?" she asked boldly with a serious expression written all over her face as Valerian's eyes widen in surprise.
He knows that Viola is determined to know more about the family. ". . . Caitriona Marquessate is a household that had thirst for power. But it's different from our mother."

Aether-powered Skyships prowl the skies, as all the great nations blessed by the Gates try to turn the blessings of the Labyrinth into immediate advantages. But for Jonas, an apprentice leatherworker, his friend Ira, and so many Londoners, the fabled ones that walk the Labyrinth are distant heroes, seen from afar. They fell short when their Potential was measured, and they fill their mundane lives with distant dreams. One man wants to break the stalemate. The Tyrant of the Dominion of France, Napoleon Bonaparte, has a plan. Eighteen years after the world changed, he will force it to change again. And when civilians are caught in the fallout, the unthinkable happens. They know little of what that means, but they have to figure out the rules that are now their lot, for they have little hope to escape their predicament otherwise. They need to understand what the descriptors in their minds mean, what each of the strange piece of gear waiting in treasure chests behind terrible guardians can bring them. They have to become Professionals on their own and rejoin the Empire. They will figure out their new lives one way or another. But will there be an Empire waiting for them when the Gates re-open? Caught in a clash of empires and high tiers, they will do what little they can. They will step up and do their best. One way or another. The Infinite Labyrinth is a slice-of-life litRPG adventure set in a real historical setting. It's a hard, crunchy litrpg. Expect blue boxes everywhere, and the system itself is very mathy. It started life as a serial. I prepared some proper worldbuilding, with enough details and background for lots of different potential story arcs, but as I wrote, I realized the main story needs to have a definitive end. So, there are four books in total, for a bit under 1500 pages, plus additional side stories, and even maybe a sequel one day. The Gore tag was added as a precaution because there are a few scenes with some light gore.
