Viola calmed herself down while looking at the luxurious door that belong to her father's office.
She never bothered him in her previous life, but now she wants to know him better. She gather her courage and raise her hand to knock on the door swiftly.
"Come in." a low, deep voice called out for whoever knocked to come inside the room.
She open the door knob and push the door opened to be greeted by the smell of ink everywhere.
Her father lift his head from the papers on the table to be greeted by her daughter violet eyes. His eyes went wide by the sudden appearance of her one and only daughter.
"What is it, Viola?" he asked, looking deeply into her familiar violet eyes that is the same as him.
". . . I wonder if we could spend some time together." she smiled warmly and showed him a basket of fruits. "A picnic." she added with a gentle smile as the duke look at her with wide eyes.
-
Viola eat the apple happily as she turned her head towards he father that is lazing around on the grass that is covered with a fabric.
She never thought that he would immediately agree to it. That's why they have a small picnic, just the two of them alone at the back garden under the big tree.
". . . Father, how did you found me?" Viola asked curiously while looking at him.
". . . my magic guardian found you." he replied with his eyes closed, trying to feel the calming air around him.
"What is a magic guardian?" Viola asked, confused. Because she never heard of it in her previous life.
". . . It's like a magic spirit that takes control of your mana. Only 30% of people have their magic guardian." he explained briefly as I nodded in understatement.
"What is the form of a guardian?"
". . . Human."
Once again, Viola nodded her head and form a slight smile.

"Father." she called as he turned his head towards her, and when he did, Viola formed a warm smile. "Thank you for finding me. I love you so much!"
-
"Milady, his grace summon you to his office."
Viola's eyes widened in surprised because of his statement only to be greeted by the questioningly look from Gray.
In her previous life, the Duke, Damon Univers never summoned her to his office even once in her whole 17 years of life until she got executed.
Thoughts didn't stop bothering her mind as Gray eventually shake her out from her thoughts and bring her to reality by his familiar voice.
"Let me escort you there."
With the statement that left no argument, she nodded her head as she followed the butler to Damon's office.
Along the hallway she walked, she greeted the workers that she passed by with a warm smile as they wholeheartedly greeted her back.
After a walk that only last for 2 minutes, the two of them arrived in front of Damon's door.
But her nervousness disappear the moment she remebered her time with Damon.
*knock knock-
The butler knocked twice on the door as a deep, low, hoarse voice asked the one who knocked to come inside the office.
The butler raise his hand to open the door to be greeted by the familiar figure that is sitting on his rightful place, who is focusing himself on the papers that is placed on the table.
The butler and Viola stepped inside the room to be greeted by the familiar smell of ink, lingering around the office.
"Your grace, Lady Viola is here."
The Duke's right hand stopped to write as he lift his head for her to be greeted by his violet eyes that is more darker than her violet ones.
". . . Astor." Damon called out the unfamiliar name with his loud and clear voice that is pleasant to ears.
A young male figure walked out from the other side that have a hair that is white as the snow and red eyes that has the colour as fresh as blood that she never seen before.

". . .His name is Astor Gaines. He is 11 years old."
". . ."
"He will be trained to be your personal knight." his sentence was enough to make her shocked. However, Damon didn't show any signs of emotions on his face as he remains cold and stoic.
She turned her head towards Astor who is only 2 years older than her. He look pitiful, like she was seeing herself from the past before she stepped inside the luxurious mansion.
Her gaze didn't avoid his as she form a gentle smile to greeted him. He was taken aback by her polite greetings as his gaze directed downwards but she doesn't mind it.
Viola turned her head back towards Damon who's gaze still directed on her.
"Father, is there a special reason why you chose him?" she asked questioningly, trying to be polite but innocent at the same time. Because she doesn't know anything about where Astor came from or why Damon brought him inside the household.
". . . I bought him from an auction. He is from the Gaines clan."
". . ."
"Gaines clan is where the people born without mana, but their strength exceeds human kind. They are also intelligent and a fast learner. We accidentally found Astor while investigating the auction."
". . ."
"So, I thought it would be a good idea to have him as your personal guard. I can fully ensure your safety to him and I'm sure he could master swordsmanship in one year."
Viola's eyes widened in surprise. "Then, he only needs one year to train to be a knight? That is too young. . . Gaines clan sure got the tremendous talent." her eyes stared into her father's violet one.
Thinking that maybe her father actually cares for her and even went as far to save Astor just to be her personal guard.
"Astor, this is my daughter, Viola Univers. Your new master. I entrust your skills to protect her."
Astor can only nodded as his red eyes turned to be greeted by her violet ones.
". . . I'm sure you're old enough that I can entrust Astor with you, Viola."
She sweatdrop. ". . .I'm still 9 years old physically. As expected of father, expecting a child to manage everything by themselves. Well, I don't blame him. . . It's a trait of the Ducal Univers after all." she form a polite smile. ". . .Yes, father." she replied politely with a slight bow.
-
While walking along the way with Astor behind Viola and Gray beside her, she turned her head towards Gray. "Gray, can you prepare Astor's clothes?"
"Certainly, Milady." he bowed politely towards her with a gentle smile. "I'll have my leave."
She nodded at his statement, returning the smile. After that, Gray turned around as he walk on the opposite direction from where she was going.
Viola could only walk ahead even though she's quite curious what kind of expression Astor is showing.
She stopped on her track as she turned to be greeted by his red eyes. She walk closer towards him and form a warm smile. "Astor, If you have any difficulties in the future, don't be afraid to tell me."
". . ."
"I am deeply honoured that you want to be my personal knight." with that statement, his eyes went wide that his red eyes becomes clear for her to see. "Also, . . . you have a beautiful eyes." she chuckled. "I'm jealous." she said with a soft tone as he only look at her with wide eyes.
". . .N-no. . . L-Lady Viola's violet eyes are more. . . beautiful. . ." he said while avoiding eyes contact, getting flustered by each words he uttered.
". . .Thank you." her lips curved into a warm smile that sincerely comes from her heart. "Let's get along well, Astor." she hope that, there's a slight better future for her prepared by God.

El's Revenge
“Revenge is not for the dead- we, as the living, take revenge to relieve the burden we feel,” I whispered into the air. “Salvation for the people who suffered because of you,” I watched as the city burned in the flames. “Salvation for the people like me, who believed in the proclaimed heroes when in reality they were the devils.” I smiled faintly as the ‘holy land’ of those ‘saints’ was destroyed. I heard rustling sounds as Charlotte came to stand next to me, grabbing my hand. “El, are we the bad guys?” If I was still the same as I was before, I might’ve broken down and started crying. Now, it was different. “A villain is just another victim. They cry and mourn, it’s just that no one heard, leading them into madness. It’s one of the reasons why we know the most, but care the least.” I took a deep breath. “We may be the bad guys in other peoples’ eyes, but in my story, we’re the heroes.” Charlotte took in my words for a while and pondered, before nodding in agreement. “As children, we loved the heroes, as adults we understand the villains.” I looked at her and bonked her on the head, earning an angry glare from her. “Hey! You’re barely an adult yourself you know,” she grumbled. I laughed and ruffled her hair, before countering her. “At least I’m not 12. You can’t even be considered a teenager at that age.” After that, we silently watched the flames ravage the land, before leaving.
