《Hero's Undercover Aide》Chapter 21

15th May 1198, Foundation day. The day where Hero Arnon and his friends saved and established Vasilindro empire. Before moving on he handed the throne to his one surviving comrade and left the empire without leaving any trace on where he was going. No matter how many times his comrade searched for him, he never succeeded. So he marked this occasion as foundation day so he can remember him until the very end.
"Big sis, I went to town the other day. They were decorating the streets and shops." Arrow spoke looking at Akiara.
Akiara hummed in response while mixing the batter.
"That's because foundation day is near." Teivel clarified his doubt.
"When did you get here?" Arrow looked baffled looking behind her.
"Where are you looking at?" She said ruffling his hair.
"That reminds me, today is the first day of foundation day."
"First day?"
"Yes. Foundation day takes place for four days."
"Can I also go?"
"Why don't you ask your big sis?" She gave a half-smile.
"Big sis can I go to town today?" Akiara hummed in response.
"Yaay!" He ran leaving the kitchen.
Teivel sneakily hugged her from behind. Akiara didn't even react as it was her usual habit. She turned around facing her.
"Don't you get tired of doing this everyday?"
"No I don't since I do it with you." She smiled brightly.
"... whatever." She freed herself and walked towards the oven to put the baking tray.
She again turned her around and pinned her to the counter. "This time... would you like to go to festival with me?"
She raised her eyebrows and looked down. She remembered it again like it happened yesterday.
[Akiara was sitting on the road with lacerations on her arms and knees and she was bleeding on her left side of the forehead. She turned her face towards the direction of the fire. Her eyes grew wide that it was her parents car that was flipped upside down and it was burning.
"Mom Dad? Mitsuko?" She started crawling as she couldn't walk because of injury.
"Hang in there Mom, Dad, Mitsuko... I'm coming to save you all...." her vision became hazy.

Suddenly the car exploded as she blinked. Fireworks exploded brightening up the road. Her eyes grew wide, "MOM! DAD! MITSUKO!"]
She clenched her fists and bit her lower lip. She turned her face away, "I don't want to."
"Why?"
"No! It's just..... I don't have good memories of it." She looked down.
Her face came closer to hers, "So how about we give it a try? I promise it won't be boring."
" I don't think so."
"C'mon please?" she held her hands looking at her eagerly. She hesitated. Her hands were trembling as if all nightmarish memories are haunting her.
"If you both want to continue to do lovey dovey stuffs, do it in your room not in kitchen." Cordelia interfered.
They flinched and let go off each other. Akiara walked out of the room with her ears turned red.
"Why do you always have to interfere in the important scene?" Teivel took out a cookie jar from the cabinet.
"I'm merely doing my job."
"You mean interfering other people's business?"
"No."
"Sigh. I couldn't even get to hear her response."
"Then ask her again."
"That's what I'm going to do." She kept back the jar in the cabinet after taking one cookie.
She leaned on the counter, "I wonder why she was trembling so much as if she saw a ghost or something?"
"She will tell me everything when she feels like it." She exited the kitchen.
Later that evening, Arrow came running with Cordelia following him behind. He barged into laundry room where Akiara was ironing and folding clothes. He ran towards her.
"Big sis let's go to watch fireworks!" Arrow excitedly spoke.
"I don't want to." Akiara replied.
"C'mon please big sis? Won't you do this for me?" He asked showing his teary puppy eyes.
She huffed, "Cordelia tell Teivel to get ready. I'll go grab my cloak." she walked out of the door.
Cordelia nodded. "You don't have to come anymore because I am already prepared to go." Teivel stood behind them.
Akiara came back wearing her cloak and they left the mansion. Akiara looked surprised seeing the festival's theme. It looked like Japanese summer festival. She looked unfazed but when she glanced at them, they looked astonished as they kept on glancing left and right. She gave a small smile. Arrow grabbed her hand and went further inside. They were exploring stalls.

"I think we came here to watch fireworks." Akiara looking at the stalls.
"Well the fireworks starts in an hour. So we have time to enjoy sightseeing." Cordelia replied.
"It seems like I've been tricked." Arrow tugged Akiara's cloak, "Big sis I want that teddy." he pointed a brown colored teddy bear put on a display in one of the stalls.
She glanced where he pointed. They walked towards the stall.
"Excuse me, how much for the teddy bear?" Akiara asked the shopkeeper pointing at the teddy bear.
"If you want then you have to play this game. One silver loure for five arrows." Shopkeeper replied taking out the bow.
"Alright then." She paid one silver loure. The shopkeeper handed her the bow and arrows.
"You know how to use it?" Teivel asked. Akiara nodded.
"Make sure not to waste your money." Shopkeeper smirked at them.
She noticed his smile and picked up one arrow. She felt the arrow stick was quite light. She aimed at teddy's head and shot it. It hit right on the spot she directed.
"Give the teddy bear since I hit it." Akiara said coldly.
"You have to make it fall from the shelf." Shopkeeper waved off.
"Alright then. I'll try again." she took another arrow and shot it but it failed.
She shot two more arrows but she could make it. She glanced at Arrow as he was eagerly waiting. She saw a splitting image of Mitsuko in him. She took the last arrow and shot it. A small smirk played her lips as she mouthed 'down'. The arrow dived down and hit the lower part of the shelf. The shelf fell along with all the toys and plushies. Shopkeeper's jaw dropped when he saw it.
"So is this teddy bear ours?" She asked looking at his worried face.
"What the hell!? You cheated!" Shopkeeper shouted.
"Huh? What do you mean I cheated? I just got lucky." Akiara replied coldly.
"Nonsense! You used magic!"
"I don't know how to use magic since I don't have mana. Now pack it up and give me the prizes."
"H-h-here you go." He handed the teddy bear she asked for.
"Here you go." She gave it to Arrow.
"Yaay!" He hugged her. Her eyes grew wide as she saw splitting image of Mitsuko in him. She lowered her gaze looking sad.
Cordelia approached towards the counter with a smile, "Mister you said if we manage to knock down the toys it will be ours?"
"What is this feeling? I feel pressurized just by looking at her. If I don't give it now.... I don't know but my intuition is telling that she is quite dangerous to mess with." he replied, "Y-y-yes yes. Here it is." he packed all the toys and plushies and gave it to her.
The shopkeeper was crying at his loss as they left the shop. Teivel kept on glancing at the bracelet made of glass decorated with butterflies. She noticed Akiara's sad look on her face and overflowing of guilt on her void eyes. She ran and intertwined her fingers with hers. She realized and looked at her. She smiled at her to reassure her. Her eyes slightly grew wide and turned her face away. Arrow came running holding two ice cream cones.
"Big sis, this one is for you." He handed her ice cream.
"They sell ice cream here also?" She asked taking it from him.
"Yeah they do. Why are you asking like you are seeing it for first time?" Teivel asked as she took the popsicle from Cordelia.
Akiara dodged her question, "O-oh it's nothing. Let's go."
"Come on we should head to the place where we can watch fireworks. Its gonna start soon." Cordelia wrapped her hands around Teivel and Akiara's shoulders.
"Yeah let's go." Arrow ran off. They followed him.
They reached the park. It was situated near the festival site. Families, couples and children gathered waiting the fireworks show to begin. They reached just in time as it started. They were looking amazed by seeing fireworks.
Teivel glanced at Akiara with a smile, "It's beautiful right?" her expression changed when she saw Akiara was not beside her.
