Grand Duke Verlice estate

Grand Duke Ziv Verlice was working with papers in his study room. His hair was light bluish silver hair and eyes color of golden color that showed Verlice family's bloodline. Head maid knocked on the door.

"Come in." He answered while working.

She slightly bowed,"Your Grace, I have come to inform you that a new maid has joined to become lady Verlice's personal maid."

"Do whatever you want... I don't have time to deal with such kinds of matters. You may leave."

"Yes Your Grace." She walked out of the room and closed the door behind. He stopped writing as it made him remember something he shouldn't.

[It was snowing outside. Duchess passed away after giving birth to a baby girl. He picked the sleeping baby girl in his arms.

"Your Grace young lady's eyes are red." The doctor exclaimed worriedly.

Duke's eyes grew wide. He bit his lower lip. He looked at James, his aide. He handed him the baby to him and walked towards his deceased wife.

"Call her caretaker." He spoke coldly.

"Yes Your Grace." His aide walked out of the room to call the caretaker.

"Brianna, I'm sorry. Because of the kid you gave birth to... she killed you. I'll make sure she suffers throughout her whole life." He mumbled holding his wife's hand.

James entered with the caretaker. They slightly bowed paying their respect to Grand Duke.

"Her name will be Teivel." Duke got up from his seat.

"Teivel? Your Grace pardon me but that's a disgraceful name for the young lady." Susan, Teivel's caretaker objected.

Duke gave a cold glare to Susan.

Susan kneeled down,"Forgive me Your Grace."

Duke clenched his fist and glared at the baby, "I, Ziv Verlice announce that Teivel Verlice is stripped off from nobility's title. And Susan, when she reaches the age four you don't have to work anymore with that monster. I will arrange another workplace for you."

She raised her head,"YOUR GRACE!! You can't do this to young lady!!"

"THEN WHAT DO YOU EXPECT ME TO DO!! I lost my wife because of this monster!"

"SHE'S NOT A MONSTER YOUR GRACE!!"

Hearing their shout, Teivel started crying. Susan ran towards James and took her from him. She slowly and gently patted her back and put her back to sleep. Duke walked away angrily.

On Teivel's fourth birthday Susan left her without any trace leaving her all alone. Teivel went to her father's study room.

"Father where is Susan?"

"...."

Duke didn't looked at her and continued to work. No one in the estate paid attention to her. Even the maid who pitied her was fired. He rushed to her elder sister, Catherine after falling off from the stairs and broke her left leg and fractured her right arm.

She complained,"Father, that monster pushed me down the stairs."

Duke was furious. He stormed out of the room. He barged into Teivel's room. Teivel was sleeping on the bed. She was shivering from cold as there was no blanket to cover her up. She woke up startled when the door opened.

"Father?"

He unsheathed his sword and pointed towards her,"How dare you hurt your elder sister?"

"Your Grace, pointing sword towards young miss.... isn't it too much?" James tried to stop the Duke.

Teivel got frightened and tears trickled down from her eyes,"H-hurt big sister? Why would I even do that?"

He glared at her coldly,"How dare you talk back to me! JAMES!"

"Yes Your Grace?" James replied.

He shifted his gaze towards him,"Prepare a carriage for her tomorrow. This monster will be leaving for Verde. From now on she will be living in Verlice's second mansion and never will set her foot in this estate ever again!"

"Yes Your Grace." James sadly looked at Teivel and walked away.

Next morning Teivel was dragged to carriage that was departing to Verde.

"FATHER I DON'T WANT TO GO!!"

"FATHER!!"

Even when the carriage rode off, he never looked towards the carriage to see her one last time either.]

"Haah.... I shouldn't get distracted." He continued to work with his papers.

It was evening when Akiara reached Verlice's second estate. She opened the gate and closed it behind. She walked towards the main entrance door. As she was about open the door, she noticed the door was dusty. She narrowed her eyes. Then she kneeled down and rubbed both of her fingers against the ground. She took her handkerchief and wiped it off on her hand.

"Entrance way is dusty. I think that no one wants to work for the lady."

She took a deep breathe and opened the door. She was shocked to see the entrance hall and stairs was dusty and cobwebs around the corners and flowers on flowerpots were withered like it was planted many years ago.

Just then a young adolescent girl stepped out. She was standing near the stairs. Her light bluish hair was disheveled, there were bags under her scarlet eyes, hands were skinny as if bones could be seen, cheekbones could be seen as if she was starving for weeks and was wearing pajamas.

Her eyes grew wide seeing her scarlet eyes, "She is the one with scarlet eyes!? Which means that the Grand Duke's daughter is not sick but has been cast aside?! She look so malnourished and weak. It seems that no one is willing to work for her."

"Who are you?" She smiled weakly.

Akiara bowed, "Hello I am Akiara. I am your new personal maid."

"I'm Teivel-" she staggers and her hands loosens from the grip.

"WATCH OUT!" Her eyes glinted as she dashed towards her. She jumped to the stairs and caught her from falling off the stairs. Both stared at each other as their eyes met.
