Amara's POV

"YOU THINK WHAT", Kat said and jumped up

"It's impossible, right", I say

"Well, promise you won't get mad at me", she asked

"I promise"

"Kai is your mate. He knew since the first time he laid eyes on you", she said

"Are you joking", I asked

"No"

"Why hasn't he rejected me", I ask

"Because he likes you", she said in a duh tone

"Oh", I smile

"I don't know if I deserve a mate", I say

"Yes. you do", she says

"Can I do my laundry", I ask

She nods "Downstairs. In the door by the fridge"

I nod. I gather my clothes and go downstairs

I find it easily. There is 10 washers and 10 dryers. I go the farthest one and empty my clothes in it and throw a soap in and start it. Just then Kai comes in and I freeze

"Hey again", he says

I nod

"The carrot cake done yet", he asked

"No", I say not looking at him

"I take it Kat told you", he sighed

I nodded

"And", he asks

"I dont think you want me as a mate", I say

"Why"

"Because I got abused. I never have left my house since I was 3. I don't even know what a phone is.", I start

" And", he asked

"I hear this voice in my head all the time", I say getting angry

He has an amused look on his face

"What", I say

"Are you done"

"I don't deserve someone like you! Now I'm done"

"Good", he says

Before I could ask. His lips crash on mine. I stay still, frozen. But I soon kiss back. He grabs my sides and lifts me on a dryer. We continue to kiss as I put my arms around his head.

Just then the timer went off. I broke this kiss as we gasped for air.

"I gotta go", I smiled

"No", he says

"Yes", I say as I jump off the dryer

I leave the laundry room happy as can be

"About god dang time", the voice laughs in my head

I take the cake out and let it cool. I run up to Kat's room.

"I just made out with Kai", I burst out

"How. When", she smiled

"In the laundry room. I was rambling on about how he wouldn't want me. Then he just. kissed me", I said

She jumped up and down squealing

"I have a question", I ask

"Do you have a voice in your head"

"That's your wolf"

"Oh. I thought you were suppose to shift first", I ask

"YOU HAVENT SHIFTED YET", she gasped

"No", I say

"Come with me", she says

I follow her to the kitchen, where her mom is. Kai is gone.

"Mom", she says

She looks up from the newspaper

Kat turns the sink on.

"Amara hasn't shifted yet, but she can hear her wolf", Kat says

"Come with us", Luna says

We walk to the middle of the forest.

"Picture yourself turning into a wolf", Luna says

I close my eyes and picture it

I shake my head after trying

"Richard says to say in your head 'Shift', while trying", Luna says

All of a sudden my legs snap. I groan as I fall to the ground. My arms snap and I feel every bone snaps. I scream. Pretty soon I'm on all fours

"Whoa", Kat smiles

She walks me to the lake. I look at my reflection. I'm all Black with a silver streak going down my back

"Nice to finally shift", the voice says in my head
