《Kyra (Completed)》41

I opened the front door and Trey walked in holding Kelly's hand. They both gave me hugs and I lead them into the family room. "How are you guys?"
"Good, were about to move in together." I started clapping excitedly. "I'm so happy for you two. You're like the perfect couple." Kelly blushed. "Thanks girl."
"Where is the baby? You know we haven't had a chance to come see him."
I smiled. "I'll be right back."
I walked up the steps and entered Joshua's room. He was awake staring up at me as I neared his crib. I swooped him up and made my way back down.
I gently placed him in Treys arms and adjusted his arms so that he was supporting him correctly.
For a few minutes they just played with him and admired his features, arguing about who he looked like.
"Yo, lil man is fire." Trey said making me smile.
"He's so handsome Kyra." Kelly mumbled making faces at him.
"White skin, don't have no more babies with that nigga, y'all sailing the banana boat and shit." I started laughing.
"Don't talk about my baby! He's just a little light." Trey kissed his teeth. "He looks white as hell.
Kelly smacked his head. "Your so rude." She muttered. "Aren't you white Ky?"
"Partially, I'm also Dominican. My dad's darker than me." Kelly looked at Trey with a look that said he sounded like an idiot and he kissed his teeth.
The doorbell rung and I got up and jogged to the door. Cam walked in and shut the door. I followed him back into the living room and his face lit up.
"Yo, Trey! Wassup my nigga." They laughed as they caught up and I sat next to Kelly who was playing with Josh.
He smiled a little as she held a conversation with him. I thought it was cute. He started to cry after a while, and I shifted into mommy mode. I got up and went in the kitchen.
I got a bottle out of the fridge and poured the formula into it before heating it up. I made my way back into the living room and Cam was now holding him.
I handed him the bottle and he sat down. I bit my lip and sighed wondering when Cam had got back in town.
The NBA cares project had gone to some schools in Massachusetts and they had been gone for a week and a half.
After he was done, I reached my hand out for the bottle and went back in the kitchen to sit it in the dish rack.
"Hey, we're heading out." Trey said giving me a hug. Kelly gave me a long hug and smiled. "He's beautiful, you're doing so good." I smiled. "Thank you."
Walking back in the living room I noticed Cam was struggling to get him to burp. Josh was laying on his shoulder as he lightly patted his back, but Josh wasn't budging. I had the same problem because he wouldn't burp on our shoulders anymore, so I called Anna.
Josh kept throwing up the milk, so I got scared. I walked over to Cam and sat next to him. "Can I help you?"
"I got it." I shook my head. "You don't, stop being stubborn.." I muttered bitterly.
I pulled Josh from his arms and sat him on my lap. I held his chest and patted him probably ten times before he burped. I placed him back in Cam's arms and kissed his little cheeks.

I looked up at Cam who was staring at me. "How did you know-"
"Your mom." I said playing with my fingernails. He nodded.
"He really looks like you." I said laughing as he scrunched up his little face. "Forehead creases and an attitude problem. I almost want to be irritated but it's a beautiful thing."
Cam smiled and talked to him a little. "We going to Disney Land and if you want to go to China one day we gone go." I laughed.
He rocked him to sleep and laid him on his chest. "So, can I come get him on the days I don't have practice?
I ran my hands through my hair and sighed. "Cam I didn't mean it like that."
"I don't wanna talk about this."
"But we're going to because you're being distant." He chuckled,
"Can you blame me?" I gave a look of sympathy and shook my head no. "I forgive you and I trust you Cam."
"It's not about that Kyra."
"Cam.."
He grabbed the remote and turning the TV down. "Why can't you let it go? That was over eight months ago.."
"I don't know..." I whispered looking down. "I guess I just thought we were okay and we're okay and we weren't. I thought it was something we were going through, but it wasn't. It was your conscience eating at you."
"I never meant to hurt you. I just got caught up in a bad situation."
I nodded. "I know. I'm sorry."
He patted his lap and took a seat facing sideways. He pressed his soft lips against mine and I smiled. "I got you, aight?"
I smiled and shook my head yes. "I love you Freckles."
"I love you too."
I stretched beside him and pecked Joshua's cheek.
Years Later...*
"Quit it." I warned swatting his little fingers from my hair. He laughed and stuck his hands back in my hair.
I turned around and started tickling him cause him to break out in a fit of giggles. He had such a bright little smile to him. It made you want to smile.
I chuckled and dropped him on a pillow, turning my attention back to my phone.
I felt his little fingers once again digging in my hair. He wasn't messing it up or tangling it, but he was fascinated with it. My hair was long again and he's been messing with it since he was a little baby. Now he just plays with it when he's bored, to get a reaction out of me.
"Joshua, I'm going to ring your neck." I said picking his small body up and throwing it over my shoulder as I got out of the bed. He giggled as we made our way downstairs.
"No, mommy!" He shouted. "No! Down."
I laughed as I made my way into the kitchen. I placed him on his feet and he wrapped his little arms around my leg as I walked around the kitchen getting ready for dinner. "Hold this." I said handing him a tomato.
He grabbed it and let my leg go, examining it and walking around the kitchen talking. He was capable of full sentences most of the time, especially when he wanted something and then there were times like these when he talked in his own little language and I just let him be.
I finished the salad and put it on the table before getting the rest of the food I cooked in the over or on the stove top.

I walked around the counter to check on Joshua and found him sitting on the floor with the tomato, a big chunk missing from it. I sighed. "I said hold it, why did you bite it?"
He looked up at me and creased his forehead. He looked just like his father. I held my hand out and he placed the nasty vegetable in my hands. I handed him his sipping cup full of watered-down juice. He didn't need a lot of sugar on his stomach.
I cleaned off his hands and grabbed his hand, going into the living room. I sat on the couch and he lifted himself on the couch before laying his head on my lap.
I ran my hands through his curly brown hair as I caught up on Basketball Wives.
I was in the same situation, but I would never be on that kind of show. It wasn't my scene. I didn't go on vacation on spot, I didn't like my business being under a microscope and I wasn't about drama and that's what shows like that aimed to produce. It wasn't me.
Josh pointed to the screen and covered his mouth in shock. "Bad word!" He looked up at me and I shook my head turning the TV to The Fairly Odd Parents. I hated when he did that, listening too hard.
He scratched his nails at my jeans as his eyes got droopy. I was waiting for him to take a nap, but I hadn't laid him down yet. I knew he had to be tired.
I lifted him up to go get the food and I laid him back down on the couch before going in the kitchen.
I took all the food out and started wrapping it, sitting it on the table. I started to wipe down the kitchen after I was done. I always liked a clean kitchen. Nothing was more sanitary than that.
Just as I hung the rag up Cam walked in the kitchen with Joshua on his hip.
"I know you didn't wake him up Cam.." I mumbled. "Nah, I was a little loud when I came in and he woke up and walked to me. My bad, I ain't know he was sleep." He walked over and kissed my lips. I caressed his face as he pulled me into him by my waist.
Little hands poked between our lips and we started laughing. "Cock blocker." He mumbled, poking Josh's stomach.
I mugged him. "Watch your mouth around him. He's starting to repeat stuff."
"My bad. Miss me? Did you watch the game?"
I nodded. "22 points, 5 rebounds, two assists. You did good freckles."
He smiled. "Thanks babe."
"Josh, wassup man?" Cam asked rubbing his head. Josh shrugged over dramatically and Cam laughed.
"I missed you." Cam said kissing him.
"Miss you." Josh repeated fumbling with one of the chains that dangled from Cam's neck.
"I love you son.." He said kissing his cheek. "Love you."
"Cam, you're hungry right?" He nodded.
"You cooked." I smiled and he got hype, "Yo Josh, let's go eat."
Joshua started clapping. "Go eat."
I laughed and followed them to the table. Cam sat Joshua in his highchair, and I handed him a cup of water.
I dropped a few pieces of cut up chicken and a little macaroni, sitting it on plate. He eats ketchup on everything, so I put it on top. It's so nasty but if it makes him eat, so be it.
I sat down and grabbed Cam's hands as we prayed over the food before starting to eat.
"Did you get that job Ky?" He asked biting into a piece of chicken.
I nodded my head yes. "I start Monday. Josh needs a babysitter Cam." I said rolling my eyes.
"What's the attitude for?
"I really don't want to leave him with someone I don't know."
"Then, why did you get a job? You don't even need it."
I rolled my eyes. "We both know I'm not going sit around here doing nothing."
He chuckled. "Yeah, well good luck."
He picked up a piece of chicken Josh knocked on the floor. I glared at him and he stared at me.
"Eat it or I will throw it away. Stop playing with it." He popped a piece of chicken in his mouth and shook his head no.
Cam just watched. "Josh, I bought you some shoes." He said getting up and jogging out of the room.
I took Josh out of his chair and cleaned up, sitting he dishes in the washer and wiping down the table.
"Josh, come back here." I said looking around the corner. He turned around and ran back jumping into my arms. I kissed his little lips and made my way up to me and Cam's room.
He came back with four boxes but what threw me off were that only two of them were small. I knew he had bought Joshua some Jordan's; he was buying them before Josh was even conceived.
I walked over to Josh and fixed his socks as Cam handed me a new pair of 4's. "Cute." I slid them on his feet and laughed. He wiggled his feet looking at the shoes like they were a foreign object. I slid them off and looked at the other box which held some all black timberland boots.
I had mentioned to Cam that I had wanted to get me and Joshua these on the phone yesterday and he went and got them.
"Cam..." I mumbled. It shouldn't have surprised me, but it did.
That was cute.
I opened the tops to the other two boots to see than he had purchased the same two pairs of shoes in my size also.
"Thank you." I said with a small smile.
Cam pulled me down on his lap and I rested my back against his chest as his hands trailed down my thighs. His hand slid beneath my shirt, making contact with the bare skin of my waist.
Joshua handed me a shoe box and I handed him the other one before he followed me up the stairs. I sat the shoes in his closet and lifted him into my arms.
I walked into me and Cam's room and laid down pulling him into me. I had gotten sleepy. Josh wrapped his arms around my neck and closed his eyes as I watched some re-runs of Fresh Prince.
Cam walked in and laid down next to us. He stared down at us and a smiled spread across his face. "What's the smile?"
"I love y'all." He said kissing my lips.
I smiled. "We love you too. So much,"
I sat Josh on my shoulders as we walked through the Zoo.
"What's that?" I said pointing to the huge Eagle.
Josh flapped his arms like a bird, and I started laughing. "Good job man." He clapped. "Good ja!"
It was in a huge bird cage made from something I knew it would be impossible to break free from. I just had to make sure I didn't get too close. Joshua was a little daredevil. His little hands would be through the bars in a second.
That was the reason he was on my shoulders; I didn't have time to be chasing him. He's bad as hell.
He was smiling and pointing to the animals he had been taught. I wanted to teach him stuff and do things like this with him all the time, but I didn't exactly have the time so when I had down time, we always went out and did something different.
I sat him on his feet, and he started messing with his shoestrings. I never knew how weird babies were until I had one.
He was messing with his shoestrings, but he wasn't untying them, he was just running his hands over them and lightly touching the strings.
I grabbed his hand as I made my way to where Kyra said she would be. We had to walk a nice distance to where she was so I let Josh down so he could look at things and touch the little animal shaped sculptures.
"Wassup Cam?" I random dude said dapping me up.
"Wassup, man?" I said stopping.
"Yo, good game the other week." I nodded.
"I appreciate it man."
"I aint never seen your son this close, he's beautiful man." He said looking down at Joshua who just stared up at him curiously.
"Thanks man." I said wiping my forehead.
I unlocked my phone and handed to Josh. He tried to pull away from my hand and I gave him a look. "Chill."
"Aye, can you sign something for me?" I nodded.
"Sure."
She searched for something and finally pulled off his black and white Heat hat. "Fuck it."
I chuckled. "Watch ya mouth man."
He nodded. "My bad."
I quickly signed his hat and waved before I lifted Josh back up on my shoulders. He handed me my phone and held on to my head as we kept walking. I wasn't tired but it was hot. This park had all these trees and it was still hot as hit.
"Joshy!" I heard Kyra yell.
I looked up and smiled as she walked up to us. Josh started squirming and I lifted him off my shoulders and sat him on his feet. He ran to her, crashing into her legs, almost making her lose her balance and she started to tickle him. I took a picture and pulled her into me kissing her lips.
"Hey, Beautiful." I said pecking her lips again.
"Hi, Handsome." she said with a smile as she wiped her lip gloss from my mouth.
She opened the cotton candy in her hand and popped some in her mouth before putting some sanitizer on Joshua's hands and handing a small piece to him that he just played with.
"Eat it." I mumbled.
He held it up to Kyra's mouth and she bit it making him smile. She handed him another piece and he ate it making us both laughs.
"Ready to go?" She asked. "It's hot as hell." I nodded.
"Where's my little white nigga?"
She kissed her teeth. "He's not white."
"He's lighter than both of us. " She shook her head and I picked him up as we made our way to the entrance of the Zoo.
We made it back to the car and I handed Kyra the keys as I put Josh in his booster seat and got in the driver's side. She turned up the air and closed her eyes.
"We're not coming back for a minute. That was exhausting."
I chuckled. "Hell yeah. We should have gone to the Aquarium or some shit." She hit my shoulder.
"Shut up."
I laughed and pulled out of the parking lot.
I huffed and pulled Joshua back who insisted on fighting me. He frowned his face and started to cry but it didn't faze me one bit. He needed to be dressed and then he could go hide under Kyra, but right now we needed to get ready.
Kyra had just changed his diaper and walked in with him on her hip. I sat on the bed a she handed him to me, getting started on his hair.
His hair was still wet as Kyra combed the tangles out. She rubbed some lotion into it and kissed his face before walking in the bathroom. He usually would smile but he was a little upset so instead, he pushed my face away and I didn't even kiss him.
"No! No!" He cried as crocodile tears streamed down his face.
"The more you fight, the longer it will take." He hiccupped and glared at me.
"Aye, you better chill. I don't have time for this shit! Do you hear me?" I said sternly. He just ignored me and kept crying.
"He's so sleepy, babe!" I yelled.
"I know!" She yelled back. "I heard him walking around at like three, but even God couldn't have made me get out of bed," I started laughing.
"Lazy ass!"
"You love me hoe!" She yelled back laughing.
I pulled up his forest green cargo pants and put him on a t-shirt before sliding his arms into his white Ralph Lauren button down. I put his little feet in his dress shoes.
I wiped his tears and rocked in him in my arms till he calmed down. "Chill man, it's over."
He laid his head on my chest as I got up and walked in the closet to find something to wear. The dinner was dressy, and I didn't dress up much.
I didn't want to wear a suit, so I got some dark wash jeans, a button down and a sweater vest with a bow tie.
Josh was sleep on my shoulder, so I laid him on the bed and started to get ready. I put on my clothes and walked in the bathroom. Kyra was doing her hair and humming to whatever song she had playing.
I just leaned on the door frame and watched her. She was in her own little world.
My eyes fell to her body clad in a white dress that stopped just before her knees. It outlined her smooth hips and I licked my lips thinking about what we did last night since we got Josh to sleep in his own bed.
Those hips and breast she got from being pregnant was the best thing ever. I felt like I had more to explore with. I never got tired of her. Every time was like the first because we did it like it would be our last. It was more than sex, we made love every single time.
She burned her finger and cursed under her breath making me laugh. She turned around and rolled her eyes.
I ran her finger under that faucet and kissed it before kissing her lips. She blushed and unplugged the curlers before sliding her feet into her heels.
"You ready?" She nodded.
"I love these dinners. Finally, my parents are at an agreement."
I nodded. "It was a long time coming but they love you enough to put their differences aside." She smiled.
I picked Josh up and we made it way down to the front and out of the house. I sat him in his car seat and made sure he was strapped good before pulling off. We pulled up to the restaurant and I got Josh out the back. He was still sleeping, thank god.
"He cried himself to sleep?" She asked running her fingers down his face. I nodded. "Fighting to get dressed for what reason?"
She chuckled. "He's still a baby Cam, sometimes they throw tantrums for no reason. He didn't want any clothes on I guess." She said grabbing the baby bag and my hand.

It will have elements of human physiology, psychology, environmental science, nature vs man, man vs nature, human nature vs humanity, etc. This story is mean to be a work of fiction. It encompasses some of my views on morality. It will have corruption, foul-language, ignorance, racism. It will glean a bright world with imagination fused with the dark shadows for some to seek refuge. Though, in the world I will be creating... Refuge comes at a cost.
