《Kyra (Completed)》36

I dug my face into Kyra's neck as I woke up. I unwrapped my arms from around her and carefully got out of bed. I went in the bathroom and took a shower, got dressed and walked back into the room, kissing her temple before heading out.
These camps were going to kick my ass. I hated getting up early in the morning like this.
I sat my bag down and dapped up all my teammates before starting hop into line with the warmups. I hated lunges, but if I didn't stretch my muscles in my legs, I'd be struggling to run throughout practice.
"Yo," Devin said as we ran in sync. "Man, I think I settled down..."
We all started laughing. "You?" Chris asked.
"Nigga, you can't even stay faithful to yo dog."
"Man, I like this bitch!" Devin defended. Tj shook his head. "If she was special, she wouldn't be a bitch."
"Nah, some girls do like that shit." Chris mumbled.
I kissed my teeth. "Jamie would beat yo ass."
"I'm not talking about her nigga!"
"Dev, who is she?" Tj asked.
"Her name is Myesha. Met her at Walmart." He mumbled.
"She was on my dick... I swear it be the eyes." We all started laughing.
"Man, I'm threw with you."
"Just cause y'all are married and shit don't mean I can't have nobody either." Devin mumbled.
I put my hands up. "I'm single nigga."
"That's because Kyra don't want yo ass! If she called you talking about, she wants to fuck, you'd go 70 in a 45." Chris said. I kissed my teeth.
"And you two are having a kid... Nigga you still count. That girl always gone be around as much as she tries to get away from you." Tj added.
"Man, whatever. She ain't worried about shit but our son."
"You can't lose faith in her man. She still loves you." I sighed.
"That don't mean she wants to be with me." I countered back.
"Nigga," he looked at me like a was retarded.
"You cheated on her, why do you expect her to run back to you? She ain't Chanel. That's what you're sleeping to."
"Don't give up on her." I nodded.
I sat in the middle of the bed, my hands clutched around a pillow, waiting for Cameron to get here. There was a big ass spider on the wall across from me and I wasn't moving until it was dead. I was scared that it would travel, and I wouldn't know where it was somewhere in my room, but it had surprisingly stayed in the same spot for the last forty-five minutes that I had been staring at it intensely.
I heard the door close downstairs and my eyes darted momentarily.
"Ky?!" Cameron yelled out but I remained silent knowing he would make his way up here anyway.
Like I predicted, he poked his head in the door before walking in. He looked at me strangely before kissing my forehead and my belly.
"Let's go get something to eat. I know you're hungry."
I shook my head no.
"Ky, what the hell are you doing?"
"There's a spider on the wall." He looked around the room confused. "Where?"
I pointed and he squinted his eyes. "Why didn't you kill it?"
"I'm not killing anything! Cam, go mush that thing!" He busted out laughing.
"Are you kidding me?! That thing is not even a fourth of the weight of you and you're sitting here terrified like it's going to kill you."

"It will!" I yelled. "What it if bites my stomach?"
Cam was in tears at this point."
"You a pussy Ky. How long have you been sitting in this bed?" He asked.
"A while." He nodded and got up, walking out of the room.
I kissed my teeth. "Cam! Come kill it! Where are you going?!"
He told me to shut up from a distance.
He walked back into the room with a sandwich and sat on the floor.
"Are your serious right now?"
He looked caught off guard. "What?" He lifted the sandwich in the air. "You wanna bite?"
I smacked the sandwich from his hand, and it landed back on his plate safely. "Fuck that sandwich. Come kill this spider!"
He kissed his teeth and got up, sitting his sandwich on my nightstand. "That was rude as fuck." He mumbled.
"You're about to piss me off."
He started laughing even harder. He was getting a kick out of this, but I didn't think it was funny in any shape or form.
I had always been terrified of spiders.
"Let me get this straight... You're mad at me because you scared of a small ass spider?"
I was getting frustrated and I was about to cry. "No, you're frustrating me! Just kill it Cam please..."
He sighed and got up. "Don't cry man... I was just playing." He said kissing my cheek.
He walked over to my shelf and grabbed a magazine, rolling it up. He walked over to me and uncrossed my legs pulling me up. He handed it to me and wrapped his arms around me.
"I need you to face one of your fears right now Kyra. What's happens when I'm not here? You can't sit in that bed all day like that."
"No, Cam." I said attempting to back up, but I was closed in by his body.
He walked me directly in front of the spider and I closed my eyes. "Kill it." He whispered in my ear.
I shook my head. "I can't."
"Yes, you can. Be strong."
I swung at the wall repeatedly never opening my eyes until I heard Cam's laugh again. I opened my eyes and turned around. "What's funny?"
"You killed the spider two minutes ago and you're still swinging at that wall." He let me go and jogged into the bathroom. He came back with a paper towel and wiped the residue off the wall, throwing it away with the magazine.
I let out a breath and he smiled. "You feel better?"
"No." I mumbled going in the bathroom and handling my business.
"You want to go see my mom?" I nodded.
"Where is she?"
"She's been staying with me, her and Ariel."
"Can, you go get me some shoes?" He nodded. "
Are your feet swollen?" He asked probably debating on what to get. "No." I said combing my fingers through my hair.
He walked out of the closet with my Ugg moccasins and put them on for me. He grabbed my peach pea coat and helped me into it before putting on his own jacket. After he grabbed his keys we were on our way.
"I'm thinking about buying another car..." He said keeping his eyes focused on the road.
"Don't you have like ten already?" He laughed. "For you." He mumbled.
"I was thinking you could drive the Escalade but that might be a bit much cause your short and you'll have Josh. You shouldn't have to struggle like that when I'm not here."

"What kind?"
He shrugged, checking his mirror before switching lanes. "I was thinking maybe a G-class? It sits low enough for you. It doesn't scream supermom or grandma. What you think?" I looked at him without answering and he looked over.
"Come on man..." I giggled.
"We'll see Cameron..."
He nodded. "I'll take that for now."
Forgetting that the house was two hours away, I started to get restless and sleepy. Cam bobbed his head to the music and sung to me like we were in a video or something. I was cracking up.
"Cam..." I said looking over at him.
He mumbled a reply and sighed. "I'm hungry."
He chuckled. "You're always hungry Kyra." I mushed his shoulder and he laughed.
He got off on an exit and got me some Wendy's before we headed back on the freeway.
"Why didn't you get anything?"
"My mom is cooking." Kyra instantly dropped the chicken nugget in her hands.
"Why wouldn't you tell me that?"
"Nigga, stop acting like you not gone still eat her food. We still got an hour till we get there and she ain't gone be finished till like seven."
She sighed and let the seat back closing her eyes. It was just like Kyra to eat and fall asleep. It seemed like that's all she really does now.
Once we finally made it to my house, I carried her into the house and laid her upstairs in my bed before jogging back downstairs and making my way to the kitchen.
Like I predicted, my mama and my sister were sitting at the table talking.
I kissed both of them before sitting down. "How's Kyra? You just came from Miami, right?" I nodded.
"She upstairs sleep. She's tired. She had a long day with a spider."
Ariel laughed. "What?"
"I made her kill a spider because she was scared of it. It would wear anyone out." My mom laughed and shook her head.
"Joshua is going to be so bad." I kissed my teeth.
"Why you say that? I was an angel." I said cheesing hard.
My mom side eyed me as she stirred something in a pot. "Yeah, right."
"How long you staying ma? Dad flew home already; I know he miserable."
She laughed. "I'm leaving tomorrow baby. Austin's coming with me too. I won't be back till Joshua is born so I need her to stay healthy. Did she get rid of that fever?"
I nodded. "She's fine. We just keep dodging all these obstacles with this whole thing. I want to have more kids, but this is scary."
My mom rubbed my back. "Don't you think you have to get her back first?"
Arie started laughing hard as hell and I glared at my mom. "You play too much."
"She ain't joking Cam!" She said holding her stomach. "'I want kids, but my baby mama doesn't want me' faced ass!"
"You childish as fuck." I mumbled only making her laugh worse.
"All these spices, all these spices, and you over there salty as hell." She said barely able to speak from lack of air. I hope her ugly ass pass out.
"If you two don't watch your mouths! I don't know where all of you get that from. My god!"
Kyra walked in the kitchen and hugged my mom and Ariel before taking a seat next to me. "Right on time, the food is almost ready."
Kyra looked over at me and sighed before laying her head on my shoulder.
"The doctor just called Cam."
"What's wrong?" I asked sitting up. Last thing I wanted was for something to be wrong, but it was the first thing that came to mind.
"They still think he's coming early, but they said they don't think its placental abruption because I only bled those two times." A tear fell from her eyes and I pulled her into my lap.
"Why is this all happening?" I sighed and tucked my face into her neck as our hands locked.
"I don't know, but we gotta trust that everything is happening for a reason and that it will turn out okay." She pressed her forehead against mine and I felt my mom and Aries hands wrap around us too.
"Does the color matter?" She mumbled annoyed.
"Naw, I just like red."
She tilted the box. "Does it have the adjusted headrests? He's going to be tiny Cam, I'm not big." I nodded and lifted the actual car seat down to the floor so she could see it in person.
"Alright get that and that one." She said pointing to the grey car seat we looked at earlier.
"What's the pamper count?" I asked.
"500. We will be good for at least two months." I looked down at her in disbelief.
"Two months? 500 pampers ain't gone be gone in two months Kyra."
"You know they eat every two to three hours, right?" I rubbed my hands down my face and she chucked.
"They sleep a lot too Cam's. Hopefully, we have a chill son."
I raised an eyebrow. "How you know all this shit?"
"The doctor gave me a book and I read the entire thing. I don't do too much of anything else really."
We walked up to the front counter and asked for assistance. They led us back to the baby section and we showed them the car seats we wanted before they walked off, saying they would bring them to the front.
I paid for them and put them in the truck after helping Kyra inside. Once we got back home, she was tired again of course.
I placed the big boxes inside of the closet downstairs as she made her way into her room. I walked in the kitchen and got her some apple juice before heading upstairs.
"You good?" I asked sitting the cup down.
She nodded. "Can you talk to him again?"
She sat up as I laid in front of her. "Wassup son, it's your pops." I said laughing. "It sounds weird. I didn't think about how it's going to feel when you say dad for the first time."
"Aye, I almost forgot..." I said looking up at Kyra who was smiling. "My boy Tim is having a girl. She a little younger than you but aye man... YOLO."
Kyra kissed her teeth. "You're always saying some stupid shit to him."
Cam ignored me and shook his head. "Yo mama stay bitching... I love her and all, but she be tripping."
Kyra rolled her eyes and pushed me away. I kissed her stomach and got up from the bed. I kissed her forehead and grabbed my phone.
"I'm about to head home..."
"Cam, I don't like how you drive two hours back and forth so much." A worried expression spread across her face.
"It's not a big deal. I need to get used to it anyway..." I said before walking out.

The Pillar Forts, one of the few successful projects of the United Nations headed by the United States, stand ready to defend humanity against any invasion that may come through the strange Connection Pillars that appeared on each continent. Massive steel and stone walls that surround the Connection Pillars. They are filled with deadly men and women trained in all manner of warfare, each trained in the newly acquired System with skills and magical abilities that they put to deadly purpose. But, can they overcome the disparity in levels and experience between themselves and the forces that threaten them and the rest of humanity? The week after her birthday, government workers started testing every person in the US in a massive census effort of skills and abilities. Jessica Brown found herself conscripted into the US Magical Corp, a new branch of the US Military, and shipped off to a Pillar Fort. Somewhere hot and muggy in her ancestors’ home of Africa. As she grows stronger, she finds she has some connection to the pillars. While everyone else sees beauty or danger when they look at the pillars, after connection is made all Jessica can see is a Tree. A tree the size of the entire universe. Isaka Smith - is a third generation American and farmer who just wants to be left alone. But she is dragged into the situation by events beyond her control. When people in her small town had to deal with rioters and looters after the system announcement, she rallied them to defend themselves, earning her a trait that the government found extraordinarily useful. After a visit to a local reservation, she finds herself conscripted to lead one of the many small support towns erected around the great pillar forts. Not near her old home, but in far-flung Africa. John McIntire, the “Fighting Bull” -The commander of the African Fort, but because of circumstances beyond his ability to contend with shortly after taking command after being re-activated from retirement, he finds communication with his chain of command increasingly difficult. The US government, hell, even the United Nations, seems to have fallen into complete and utter chaos. The African Union is embroiled in a bitter civil war just outside his door, and supposedly, most of the world governments are in similar situations. Meanwhile, John must do his best to be ready to facilitate diplomacy, or to match the hostile argument of whatever force might come through the pillar of light when the year timer finishes counting down. Can our heros defend Earth from outside threats, while it tares itself apart? Or will they need to rebuild from the ground up?
