Hello and welcome to the next cycle of the Lost Dreams Book Club!
We are ready to get started with the new cycle and we hope you are, too! Below you will find this week's groups. If we haven't found a group for you yet, you are on the waitlist. We'll make sure to group you up as soon as we can.
To make sure everything runs smoothly, here is a quick overview of what you'll need to do:
- The assignment is to read 3 chapters of each partner's book over the next 2 weeks. The deadline for this is . The next update will be the next Sunday; .
- Remember to give the best feedback you can. .
- When you've finished your assignment, report to us with what you've read in this chapter. This should look a bit like this: Three chapters read of Speaker's Way; last chapter read: chapter 24, and three chapters read of The Root of Magic; last chapter read: chapter 24.
- Remember to talk to your group members. If you want to read more than the required 6 chapters per 2 weeks, talk to your partners to see if they want this too. If one of you has a book that's shorter than the others', see if you can fix this by letting your partners read a second book of yours once they finish the first one.
- Let us know if your partner does not provide you with adequate comments.

The Dungeon Boss's Favorite Game - A Virmo Story
Kragathor is the final guardian of the world’s deepest dungeon. He is an immortal pinnacle of existence that is otherwise known as an ancient dragon. And he is terribly bored. His sole source of amusement comes from scrying on the adventurer teams that are in the upper levels of his dungeon. Through spying on adventurers, Kragathor hears of a new magic item, called a Virmo, that allows one to project their mind into a fictional world in some sort of grand-scale game. Recognizing these Virmo games as a potential diversion for his endless boredom, he orders a minion to infiltrate the nearby town and acquire some of these games. Once the minion returns, he logs into a game set in a world that runs on the twin magics of ‘science’ and ‘technology’, and embarks on his new journey as Bob, the Level 1 Human with no class. Release Schedule: As I wrap up the end of the first major arc, I will publish the chapters as they're completed. A land ravashed by an old war and left to rot away. Desolate wastes are the only thing more common than death in these parts. We begin by a wethered old timer that describes the world that stands and some of what used to stand. He tells also of a man, one of his closest friends who left during a time of struggle, off into the wastes in an effort to end the suffering. This land has only one currency, water. The controlling authority over the water is Oasis, and they are as corrupt as can be. In a war against Oasis led by the man, named Griff, was going well until suddenly Griff dissapeared and the war was lost. This story is one of struggle and hardship, one where a legend was made out of a man reborn from suffering, come along for a ride through the eyes of a tired old man who has seen to much sorrow, and knows too much pain.

[Author's Thoughts] Dropped, obviously. Still, it's my first attempt at a novel and I do love what I did with it. Big step towards learning. Far in the past, there was a civilization much more advanced than the one of modern times. Evidence of that time remains, but it is all but shrouded in mystery as there remains no way to decipher it. Currently, normal individuals wage war with guns and smaller machinery, but those who can wield a higher power vary in their abilities. Scales, born upon humans, are a mystery in their origins but are the source of their abilities and their way towards advancement. Although normally powerless, humans have adapted to the scales and thus can connect with the power of the universe, much like the other races that inhabit its various corners. In one of these corners, there exists a human settlement where Lancing follows his father's footsteps to begin his own ascent to power. However, he finds he is far different from his gifted father, whose scales below his eyes were among the purest ever seen, reaching gem-like quality. Far from perfect, Lancing shows no desire to give up and ceaselessly moves forward to reach the peak of the universe. However, he begins to notice that the mysteries of the universe slowly begin to unravel in front of his eyes. To reach the heavens, Lancing must carve his own path.
