《Lost Dreams Book Club》Read Cycle 26

Hello and welcome to the next cycle of the Lost Dreams Book Club!
It has come to our attention that some of you are leaving generic, one-line comments on their partner's work. This is not what you're supposed to be doing. This book club is meant for meaningful, useful feedback. It is meant for people who want to improve their work and their writing, not for people who just want some more reads.
We let people do a trial review for a reason. We wrote an extensive "How to give the best feedback" chapter for a reason. This is the quality we want every single one of your final comments on your partner's chapters to have. Every single chapter you read, you have to write a proper comment with useful feedback for your partner. You have to put effort into every end-of-chapter comment and preferably write inline comments too. Why? Because that's the type of bookclub this is. Only that way can your partner know what you truly thought about their chapter, and only then can they improve. Improvement, developing your writing skills, is what this book club is all about.
If you know that you don't give your partner's work the extensive feedback they deserve, if you make do with a quick, effortless comment, then this is your chance to improve. If we find out you still don't put any effort into you comments during Read Cycle 26, we will take action with strikes.
Please don't stop reading yet, this next bit is equally important. Pfew. Sorry, we didn't mean to sound so lecturing. We do find this incredibly important though, because this is the basis for our book club. As you all know, from our chapter on How This Works, we do not check our members' comments and we do not have a minimum line requirement. We assume our members are mature enough to follow the basic rule of doing their best with the feedback. So, if your partner does not seem to put any effort into their comments, please come and talk to us. Shoot us a PM. Let us know what's bothering you and we'll have a look and take action when necessary.

You all know what we expect. It's in the How to give the best feedback chapter. Have another read through that if you're unsure. But please give your partner and their story the attention they deserve.
Right then, that's all for the announcement. We are ready to get started with the new cycle and we hope you are, too! Below you will find this week's groups. If we haven't found a group for you yet, you are on the waitlist. We'll make sure to group you up as soon as we can.
We are always looking for members. If you have any friends that might be interested, please don't hesitate to direct them our way!
To make sure everything runs smoothly, here is a quick overview of what you'll need to do:
- The assignment is to read 3 chapters of each partner's book over the next 2 weeks. The deadline for this is . The next update will be the next Sunday; .
- Remember to give the best feedback you can. Be specific.
- When you've finished your assignment, report to us with what you've read in this chapter. This should look a bit like this: Three chapters read of Speaker's Way; last chapter read: chapter 24, and three chapters read of The Root of Magic; last chapter read: chapter 24. Let us know when you've finished your partner's book!
- If your partner goes above and beyond, please let us know. We have a nomination system in place for members who do really well.
- If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact us.
- Remember to talk to your group members. If you want to read more than the required 6 chapters per 2 weeks, talk to your partners to see if they want this too. If one of you has a book that's shorter than the others', see if you can fix this by letting your partners read a second book of yours once they finish the first one.

Keys of the Endpoint
Keys of the Endpoint is an illustrated web serial about the re-birth of civilization in a fantastical world suffering from a recent apocalyptic event. Every day, people appear from the storms that ravage the Endpoint. Whisked away from their own time and place by storms in their homelands, these newcomers find themselves in a hostile place made up of ruins and people from every timeline imaginable. Stranger still, they all soon discover they're carrying silver keys that grant each holder incredible powers. On Earth, most people have mundane excuses for the disappearances, but not Isaac. Having lost his brother Finn to one of these storms, Isaac becomes obsessed with finding a pattern. Not to prevent more people disappearing, but rather to get taken by the storms himself in order to find his brother. While chasing Finn’s faint trail, Isaac soon discovers how little he really knew about himself, his brother and how much loss one person can take. In Keys of the Endpoint there's portal fantasy, personal drama, magic (useable by everyone), plenty of combat, power progression, mysteries, factions, feuds and eventually war (in that order). The magic system is well defined and modular with nigh infinite combinations. The story starts out with one of the two main characters looking for his lost brother but quickly expands in scope from that point on. Breaking Horizons: Book 1: Snared Origins
Many want to learn things from a story, while others only want fast-paced wonders. We are human and we like to dream, we are alive and we want to feel. Don’t wander outside before knowing the inside. Even if this is slow, it gives you the reader, things to behold. This is a story but also knowledge. It isn’t fast or entertaining but makes you wonder. Everything starts from something unknown, we all want to know the untold. However, can you persevere if something starts being boring? Shouldn’t entertainment start from something unexciting? Open a door to what you might know or not. Learn to dream in my unhealthy abode. Start from the garbage since that’s the place where I belong. Welcome to Raccoon’s abode. Breaking Horizons: Breaching the Fourth Dimension. A slow story that will take you on a ride towards the unknown. PS: Will make things clear here. The actual main character is a human, the raccoon is a pet for the novel. So it isn't a raccoon Isekai or reincarnation as a raccoon. I still haven't added it to the story, as I am currently doing the intro. A long intro! So the start might feel off when you read it. The story will include many genres but starts with psychological stuff and low fantasy. The whole story is an enormous puzzle, but it starts with a tiresome beginning for many. There is a reason for that... If you want to know more about this story check my discord: https://discord.gg/rZs6mem You can ask what you want to know there. Or join a bigger and cooler server where many authors hang out: https://discord.gg/2hbvq8B (Its dungeon engineer and many cool stories' server) This is my own story, so its for me only. I will not have a schedule. I left it on hiatus for a while, can't write two stories, too busy.

Den of Vipers
The Year is XXXX, and a deep, heavy fog sets in all over not just the planet, but the whole of the universe, sending all within into a deep, deep sleep. When they awake, all has changed, and both for the better and the worse. Everything has changed, from the new, impossibly massive planet that all now occupy to the terrain to the very rules of reality themselves. But what has changed the most are the people. It seemed as though Humanity was alone in the cosmos, but no longer, as new, monstrous races have been born from the flesh of those whom the Fog singled out. With the survivors rewarded for each altered former human they kill, along with each heroic (and villainous) act that they engage in, those who have changed are forced to run, hide, and try to fight back. But in a distant place, a single altered person stirs from her sleep as the Fog fades. With no Humans for hundreds of miles and a [Quest] that all other Altered share guiding her newly inhuman mind, the newly born serpentine but humanoid monster will have to fight for survival and dominance in a world hellbent on her death, with that violent, pathological hate coming not just from the remaining Humans. [WARNING! THIS NOVEL WILL CONTAIN GORE, VIOLENCE, AND OTHER SUCH THINGS UNSUITABLE FOR SENSITIVE AUDIENCES!] [PLEASE NOTE THAT THE VIEWS CONTAINED WITHIN ARE NOT NECESSARILY THOSE OF THE AUTHOR!] [CLICKING ON THE FIRST CHAPTER WILL BE YOUR WAY OF ADMITTING THAT YOU READ THIS WARNING AND ACCEPTED THE RAMIFICATIONS OF IT!] [ALL ISSUES REGARDING THIS NOVEL'S MATURE THEMES AND DEPICTIONS OF CRUELTY THAT NORMALLY WOULD HAVE BEEN VALID REASONS TO COMPLAIN TO ADMINS WILL BE LESS VALID DUE TO THIS WARNING!]
