《Songbird (PeterPan//OUAT)》Crusty Hospital Rooms and Old Friends

When I awoke, I was not in my bed at the loft. No, I was in a crusty hospital room, on a crusty hospital bed, with crusty sheet, and a crusty nightgown to wear. Yeah, it even had crusty windows! I groaned and shut my eyes as the stupid light above my bed undimmed. "Haven?" A husky, morning voiced Peter asked. I opened one eye and looked over to the source of his voice. He was in a rather uncomfortable looking chair and his hair was mussed from sleep. "Oh, you look comfortable." I said sarcastically. He laughed and all but sprinted over to me. "What happened?" I asked quietly as he nuzzled my cheek with his nose. "Something about you losing a lot of blood." he whispered, his warm breath fanning my neck. "You know what I noticed?" I said, turning to face him the best of my ability. He hm'ed, signaling he was listening. "I have some really bad luck." I said with seriousness. Peter laughed at this. He looked at me and laughed. "No! I'm being serious!" I yelled at him. He continued to laugh, tears nearly coming out of his eyes. I hugged and sat back, waiting for him to be done.
A couple minutes later, he was. He held my small hand in his large one and leaned his head on my thigh. We stayed like that for a while in silence until the door opened. A pretty redhead nurse walked in. "Oh, you are awake." she said. I smiled at her. "Ok well, I'm Ariel, your nurse." she said giddily. I smiled at the princess of the sea and watched as she took my vitals. "Everything seems to be in order, the stitches were sewn in beautifully and you have your strength back, I'll run it by the doctor and you just might be able to go home in an hour." I smiled in relief and watched her leave. Once she did, I turned to Peter. "So I was thinking, do you want to get married in the church or on the beach?" I asked him. He smiled and pecked me once, "I honestly don't care as long as its you walking down the aisle." I smiled widely, "That was really cheesy." I whispered. He chuckled and nodded, "Really?" I giggled and pecked him once more before nodding, "yeah." He pecked me again with a smile on his face as he held my hand. I smiled wider and pressed my lips to his in a sweet kiss. "Woah! Ew! That's gross!" a soft voice said as the door opened. We both broke away and turned with raised eyebrows. Henry stood there with his story book covering half his face. "You know, sometimes you guys act way too similar for your own good." I laughed along with Peter. "What's up Henry?" I asked as I sat up in a more comfortable position. Peter sat at the foot of my crusty bed and Henry sat in a chair beside it. "While you were asleep," he began as he settled in and flipped through pages in his book, "I would read your story to you." I ran my teeth over my bottom lip, "That would explain the forest dreams." the young boy nodded in confirmation with my statement. "So is that what you were going to do?" I asked him. He nodded and began reading Peter and I's story aloud. I settled back with Peter on my good side and listened intently to our story.

Some time during the story, I must've fallen asleep because when I woke up again, I was now in a pair of my pajamas with the nightgown covering my top half, and in my bed back at the loft. I smiled and stood up, grabbing clothes on the way to the shower.
When I was done rinsing off, I padded my way to the kitchen and opened the fridge. "Hey, Peter?" I called. His feet shuffled as he made his way over to me, book in hand. "What's wrong, love?" he asked as he wrapped his arms around my waist and leaned his chin on my shoulder. I closed the fridge door and turned to look at him. I placed my lips on his cheeks and kept them there, "We need to grocery shopping." He laughed and burrowed his face in my neck. "When?" his muffled voice asked. I smiled and grabbed my keys off the counter, "Now." He groaned and made his way to the door, pulling on a coat and some shoes over his pajamas. I laughed and did the same, pulling on my Uggs and a random coat. We walked out of the door and down the hall towards the elevator. We laughed and joked all the way down to the lobby, hands intertwined. I drove, obviously, all the way as Peter looked out the window, admiring the scenery. "So I was thinking, we could clean out the storage room next to ours and turn that into the nursery. It's rather large and it'd make this whole parenthood thing a great deal easier." I nodded with a smile, "That sounds swell. We'd have to wait to paint it though, we don't know the gender yet." He smiled and unbuckled his seatbelt as I pulled into a free parking space. I got the cart as I placed the groceries we needed in it. Some pasta, bread, sauce, meat, the works. Peter held my hand the entire time he could. Everything was quiet until we made it to the refrigerated section. "Oh my gosh! Your Haven Rhoades! Songbird!" a squeal said from beside us. Peter and I looked away from the cheeses and towards the young girls that shouted my names. I laughed nervously as head began to turn. "Um, yeah I am, but can we keep this on the down low. I still need to complete my grocery shopping." I asked the young brunette. "Can I have your autograph?" she asked as stars literally appeared in her eyes. I laughed it off and looked towards a smiling Peter, he nodded I plucked the girl's pen from her hand and signed the piece of paper she had. "Name?" I asked her. "Jane." she said with a smile on her face. "That's quite a pretty name. You know, my friend said she wanted to name her daughter that." I said casually. "Really, who?" a familiar voice said from in front of me. I looked up, my green eyes locking onto a familiar pair of blue ones. "Wendy?" I asked, not believing that she was here in front of me. She smiled and nodded as she set down the basket she was carrying. "Hello, Little Bird." she said teasingly. I smiled as I ran to her, ignoring the curiosity filled gazes from onlookers as I chatted away with my best friend.
