《Songbird (PeterPan//OUAT)》Chapter 9: Fate chooses its own

"So, since you're Mother Nature. Can't you take us to Henry? You know, change the course of fate?" Neal questioned. I shook my head as I climbed a tree, "That's not how it works lad. Fate chooses its own. Either way, I wouldn't be able to do it. Not here. On this land, albeit part of me, Pan owns it. He rules this island, therefore, he holds control over it. I have limited power here, enough to end Pet-I mean Pan, but not enough to lead us to Henry. That is why we need the demon." He sighed heavily as he hacked away at leaves in frustration. "Hey!" I hissed as I felt blood trickle down my arm. "Now that you know of my being don't you think you should respect me second form a bit more?" The wound stitched itself up, already healing. The leaves were still crying. I jumped down from the tree and walked up to the brush that Neal had hacked away at and began humming. "Why do you do that?" Snow questioned. I smiled as I soothed the plant. "Same way we sing lullaby's to lull our young to sleep. When I sing to the Earth it takes the pain away." My tank top was tugged down slightly. "What are these veins?" I heard Emma question. I whipped around and caught her wrist. "None of your concern." With that said, I sang one last note and sealed it with a kiss before walking away. However, when I turned, only Felix was there. His club was set on his shoulder, a small frown hidden under his smirk. "Hello Songbird." he said smoothly. I scowled, "My name is Haven, Felix. You know that." His smirk faltered a bit but he immediately picked it up. "Ah, yes. The extraordinary Haven Rhoades. Quite a reputation you've built up." I asked him his business on being here and he only stayed quiet. A frown now visible on his face. Then I was met with darkness.

I screamed and kicked as the lost boys continued to drag me around. My nails turning into claws and digging into the earth. The trees have tried to help but only got hacked away, it was then that I begged them to stop. My body was covered in leaves, mud, and dried blood. I struggled more and was greeted with a swift kick to the ribs. "Quiet down!" a lost boy growled. I growled back and listened for his footsteps before swiping my claws at his ankle. Hitting my target I used fire to burn the ropes off of my hand. Using my now free hands, I pulled the hood off and jumped to my feet. My torso was still tied up; a piece of rope acting as a leash. I growled and jumped up, successfully landing on the shoulders of the lost boy dragging me. "Nighty night." With that said, I pushed the pressure point on his jaw and he crumpled to the ground, out cold. Laughing to myself as the other lost boy cradled his sliced ankle I turned to come face to face with a lean chest covered with a brown tunic. Looking up, I caught sight of Felix's emotionless gaze. My expression darkened. Using my powers, I held him up against a tree by a branch. "Why?" I demanded. Felix looked into my eyes, his face turning a sickly green as the chloroform entered his blood stream. Looking into his blue eyes, I knew I had my answer, so I let him go. He fell to the ground, on his knees. I stayed looking down at him, tears threatening to make their way down my face. Suddenly, he shot up, my petite body in his arms, against the tree. I groaned as my head hit the bark of the large jungle tree. Felix looked into my eyes, and unidentifiable emotion lingering in his. His gaze landed on my lips and stayed there. With a new intensity, his lips found mine. His lips rough against mine as he forced my mouth open with his own. I stayed unmoving, the shock of this experience still not catching up with me. When his tongue touched mine, I tried to push him away but I couldn't move at all. He pulled away slightly and opened his palm. A vile of mistletoe lying in it. I turned my gaze back to his smug face. The asshole paralyzed me. His lips found my own again and I squeezed my eyes shut, attempting to focus on my powers. It was useless, my powers move with me and since I can't move, no powers. I bit down on his lip when his tongue shoved its way down my throat. He pulled away, his swollen lip bleeding. Wiping it, he looked at me. " Funny, but you're still paralyzed. " Pulling out a dagger, he began to cut away at my shirt. A scream built its way in my throat and into the air surrounding us. The first time I've ever screamed.

I cringed as a scream ripped through the air, shattering my eardrums. Looking around, I noticed the absence of a very irritating singer. "Haven?!" Regina shouted, already make her way to the source of the sound. "Regina!" I shouted after her as we began to run behind her. Please lord, let Haven be okay.

My head whipped around as a very familiar scream tore through the air, startling the birds residing in the trees. Putting down my flute, the lost boys around me stopped dancing. "Haven?!" I shouted as I jumped to my feet. The lost boys followed my lead, grabbing their own weapons.

My feet pounded against the ground as I ran towards the source of the scream. It was still ringing in the air, the birds mimicking it, leading us to my lost girl. I jumped a rock and stopped short, the lost boys crashing into my back. Felix held Haven by the throat, dagger in hand. Her lips were swollen and red, her shirt ripped halfway, exposing the lower valley of her chest and her belly-button. Her dark pants were ripped and dirtied, and her shoes were caked with mud. Her long brown hair was still shiny and smooth but there was dried blood on her hairline. "FELIX!!" I bellowed, saliva flying out of my mouth from the sheer anger behind my words. "WHAT DID YOU DO ?!" Felix turned to me, his eyes holding a crazed light. "What do you think, Pan?" Those simple words sent me over the edge as I marched up to him. Suddenly, the dagger was at her stomach in a threatening matter. "Not one step, Pan." Pushing my boundaries, I barked, "Felix. Listen to your higher command." Those words sparked a new found insanity as he droved the knife into my little birdy's ribs. She cried out, black blood gushing from the wound. It was then I noticed the empty vile of mistletoe at Felix's feet. She was paralyzed. Growling, I stepped closer, but he stopped me as he drove the dagger into her chest once more, near her heart. There was blood pouring from the wounds, creating a puddle on the dirt floor. The earth soaking it up as she bled out. Feet pounded into the clearing, followed by a shocked gasp. "Put. her. down." Regina commanded. Felix laughed darkly, "Of course, Your Majesty." He mocked. His sarcastic smiled faded as he pulled out another knife, but this one was different. It was deadly. The blade was etched with Dreamshade. "Bloody hell." Hook muttered. Emma turned to the pirate. "What is it?"

"The blade is etched with dreamshade. A deadly poison here on Neverland. In its natural form, death is slow and far more painful." Emma took a sharp intake of breath.

Without warning, Felix sunk the blade into Haven's stomach. Her blood turning the shade of a dark sky. No moon, no stars, just a black sea. She choked, black blood dripped down her chin. That was the last straw, in a flash. I was behind him, my hands in position to break his neck. And that's exactly what I did. Without waiting for Felix to crumple, I caught Haven before her body could hit the ground. Her eyes were unseeing and glazed, body limp and unmoving. Signs of near death. A few sniffles sounded behind me and I knew the lost boys were grieving the death of the only lost girl worthy for their tears. Tears of my own were spilling down my face as my little bird's green eyes lost their shine. Her eyelids fluttered shut as I held her to my chest tightly. Black blood stained my clothes but I could care less. My birdy was dead. The love of my life, gone. Diminished. Regina came up in front of me, tears streaming down her face as she held out her arms for Haven. I shook my head, my tears landing on Haven's angelic face. If it weren't for the evidence surrounding her it may have looked like she was sleeping. But she wasn't. She was gone. I handed her to Regina as I clutched the earth in my fingertips and cried. My shoulders shaking as Regina sobbed louder than before. Her cries echoed in the forest as everyone watched us. The supposedly cold-hearted villains sobbing over the death of a loved one.

Jeremy." I called through my tears. The lost boy came over, tears staining his face. "Get Henry and everything ready, we're burying her tonight." Regina looked up then. Her eyes blazing with intensity, "We are burying her back at Storybrook, and you're coming with us." It was a demand, one I was willing to comply to as my lover lay limp her mother-figures' arms. Emma stepped up then, as did the rest of the group. They crowded around their loved one and cried, hugging her. I looked on, the sight making it feel like someone took a dagger laced with Dreamshade and drove it through my heart, then ripped it out and pulled my heart along with it. Jeremy returned then with a confused Henry. I blocked the view from Henry. "You don't want to see that. Just wait, please." Henry looked flabbergasted. His eyes wide with shock. Suddenly, his face hardened as he brushed past me and looked at the pale, lifeless body of his sister-figure. Tears immediately ran down his face as he turned to me angrily. "What did you do!?" He yelled as loud as he could. I shook my head. He marched up to me and shoved me as hard as he could. I didn't move. He shoved me again, but I didn't move. He beat his hands on my chest as his tears came out faster than before. Finally having enough, I grabbed his wrists and looked down into his eyes. "I would never hurt her enough to kill her. I cared for her in a different way you and your mother do. I love her Henry and seeing her die in front of my eyes is more pain than you are feeling right now." He stopped pounding on my chest and held still, tears streaming down his face. "True love's kiss." He mumbled. I shook my head, "It doesn't work like that, Henry. Dreamshade is a poison, not a curse. It has a magical cure, but she is too far gone and her body was already injected with mistletoe. It would have rejected the water." Henry hiccupped as he wrapped his arms around my waist. "You would have made a good brother-in-law. Despite the fact that you kidnapped me." Tears streamed down my face as I wrapped an arm around his shoulder and led him over to Regina. She needed him right now.

Thirty minutes later and Regina's tears had run out. Now only letting out small hiccups. "Let's go." Hook said as he stood up, along with the others. Regina looked from the girl in her arms to me. I smiled softly at her and lifted her into my arms. Regina wiped her eyes and held out her hands. "I should have enough power to teleport us to the Jolly Roger. Rumple should be there. It was his job to fix the ship." I motioned to the lost boys and they shuffled over here. "With our powers combined we can teleport all of us to the ship." Regina nodded.

IN a flash we were aboard the Jolly Roger. All of us. Regina and I channeled our powers to teleport us to the sea of Storybrook. In a few minutes, we'll be in the dock of Haven's home. Ready to bury her.

Stay sharp my rabbits!
