《Songbird (PeterPan//OUAT)》Chapter 7: Caged

"You know Peter, if you wanted me to come back to camp you could've just asked." I stated as Felix unstrapped my weapons from me. He pulled off my sword and accidently slid the blade across my exposed thigh. "Bloody Hell. Bad Idea to wear thin jeans." I cringed as blood seeped from the wound. Felix cringed as well but kept his cool as he leaned back up and towered over me. I glared into his calm blue eyes. "I'm sorry Haven." He said thickly as his eyes glazed over with tears he so desperately fought back. "Go to hell." I spat. He sighed and touched my uninjured cheek. I leaned away from his touch and he sighed once more before walking away. I looked around the familiar, yet not-so-familiar camp with a keen eye. Since I am here, I might as well look for Henry. Looking around, there was no sign of Henry, only lost boys getting ready for dinner.
"Come on little bird. Time for a song." Peter cooed as he dragged me from my bound hands towards the fire. He threw me with such a force that I nearly fell in but Felix caught me around the waist just in time. "Thanks." I breathed. Felix nodded at me and set me upright as Peter glared harshly at his hands.
"What do you want me to sing, Peter?" I asked as he sat down on a log. He shrugged, "An original. Begin." I sighed and looked around before bending down and picking up a handful of dirt. Sitting on my haunches, I let it fall and began drawing in the dirt. He wanted original, i'll give him original. My finger guided its way through the loose dirt as all the boys watched me intently, even Peter.
Once done, I stood up and brushed my hands on my knees. I stood in the middle of my drawing and brought my hands up slowly. A fire ignited from the drawn lines and I smirked at the look of concentration on Peter's face. He was trying to stop my magic, but it was too powerful. I was too powerful.

Do you ever feel like a plastic bag
Drifting through the wind, wanting to start again?
Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin
Like a house of cards, one blow from caving in?
I created a triangular house shape with the flames as they enclosed over and around me.
Do you ever feel already buried deep six feet under?
Screams but no one seems to hear a thing
Do you know that there's still a chance for you
'Cause there's a spark in you?
I disappeared into the earth and popped back up behind Peter.
You just gotta ignite the light and let it shine
Just own the night like the 4th of July
The flames burned brighter as they contorted into the already burning fire near them.
'Cause, baby, you're a firework
Come on, show 'em what you're worth
Make 'em go, "Aah, aah, aah"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y
I picked up some loose dirt and blew it into the air, it crackled and popped, much like an actual firework.
Baby, you're a firework
Come on, let your colours burst
Make 'em go, "Aah, aah, aah"
You're gonna leave 'em all in awe, awe, awe
I picked up even more loose dirt and blew it to the lost boy, it turned into different colored dusts.
You don't have to feel like a wasted space
You're original, cannot be replaced
If you only knew what the future holds
After a hurricane comes a rainbow
I used the wind currents to move the trees.
Maybe a reason why all the doors are closed
So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road
Like a lightning bolt, your heart will glow
And when it's time you'll know
I grabbed the flickering flames and used them to create different doors around Felix, whom was standing nearby.
You just gotta ignite the light and let it shine

Just own the night like the 4th of July
I did the same as last time with the loose dirt.
'Cause, baby, you're a firework
Come on, show 'em what you're worth
Make 'em go, "Aah, aah, aah"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y
Baby, you're a firework
Come on, let your colours burst
Make 'em go, "Aah, aah, aah"
You're gonna leave 'em all in awe, awe, awe
Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon
It's always been inside of you, you, you
And now it's time to let it through-ough-ough
'Cause, baby, you're a firework
Come on, show 'em what you're worth
Make 'em go, "Aah, aah, aah"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y
Baby, you're a firework
Come on, let your colours burst
Make 'em go, "Aah, aah, aah"
You're gonna leave 'em all in awe, awe, awe
Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon
Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon
When I finished the song I returned everything to normal and turned on my heel. No one stopped me. What Peter didn't know was that while I was singing, the trees were telling me the whereabouts of Henry. I should have him home by tomorrow evening. Walking into the woods was different. Gone was the happy feel, everything was sorrowful, melancholy, dreary, dead. A whisper said. I ignored it, there is no way that the ghost whispers hanging in the wind will scare me. Not tonight, i'm on a mission.
A twig snapped to the right of me and I immediately got into stance. My breathing was already quieted as the shadow moved closer and closer until I felt his breath on my lips. "What are you doing here Little Bird?" he questioned. "Nothing that concerns you, Pan." I hissed. I could faintly see Pan cringe at the venom I used on his name. Suddenly, all the wind was knocked out of me as I was leant up against a tree. The tree cried out for me and whispered warnings in my ear but I had no time to react to them for a pair of soft lips captured my own. I subconsciously melted into Peter, I mean Pan; my fingers wrapped in his hair and his arms wound around my small waist. His mouth moved against my own in a way that left me weak in the knees. I kissed back eagerly and nipped his bottom lip teasingly. His tongue found it way to mine, prying my lips open for his access. I let out a small moan of pleasure and I felt him smile against my lips, his tongue still dancing with mine. Somewhere, in the back of my mind, I knew this was wrong, snogging my 'little brothers' captor. However, right now, I couldn't find it in me to stop. He pulled away, an actual smile lingering on his face. "I knew you couldn't resist me much longer." Pan teased, his eyes holding a lighter air to them. I smiled at his now light green eyes. I again, ignored the wind and continued looking up at him. "You know this won't work. They will come looking for us and in their book, good always wins."
"How do they know which of us is good or bad?"
"They aren't the ones trying to steal the pure heart of a child." With that said, I pecked his cheek and continued on my way to find Henry.
Stay sharp my rabbits!

Noli Me Tank in a Mall
Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo are important cultural works that ignited the Philippine Revolution against Spain. They are novels that exposed to the populace the abuses and the injustices of their Spanish colonial rulers, the hypocrisy of their priests, and inherent cruelty of their class structure over the powerless masses. Unfortunately, they rose up in the middle of the Spanish-American War, one which saw Spain lose most of their overseas colonies and decisively end as a World Power. The war ended in the 1898 Treaty of Paris, in which Spain also sold the Philippines to the USA for the sum of twenty million dollars. The revolutionary government was then crushed by the overwhelming military might of the United States and the Philippines turned into a territory. While the Philippines stands as the USA's greatest successes in nation-building, their early occupation left almost one-fifth of the population dead from combat and disease. Jose Rizal was executed by the Spanish long before knowing what might happen to his country. The world presented within The Noli and the El Fili is therefore stuck frozen in time, forever caught in that moment before a Revolution. Now let's see what happens to this nation if we give it the Light Novel treatment and jam the entirety of the Internet into their protagonist's skull and watch him try to fix things with his unfortunate tendency to sound like a supervillain. Updates Mondays and Fridays. Note: The Noli and El Fili have been public domain since 1946. This is completely fair game.

The Mischievous Mrs. Maxfield
***The wrong girl is sometimes The Right One.*** Charlotte Samuels thought she'd be stuck waiting tables at Marlow's until all her debts are paid off-in about ten thousand years or so. She definitely didn't expect a marriage proposal from the arrogant Brandon Maxfield who was blackmailed by his father to make her his wife if he didn't want his least favorite cousin to run Maxfield Industries. Charlotte's instinct was to say HELL NO! but she's stumped by a few obstacles: 1.) His old man Martin Maxfield is dear to her heart and has been recently deteriorating in health. 2.) She gets a million dollars if she stays married to Brandon for a year. 3.) She would rather like the opportunity to teach the attractive but awfully rude man a few lessons he didn't think he needed from a 'teenage gold-digger' which was his term of endearment for her on their first date-er, business meeting. So what's a girl got to do, right? Sure, she's young and a little rough around the edges but there's something her would-be husband didn't know about her yet-she's nothing like he ever expected. Thrust into the glitzy world a standard-issue Mrs. Maxfield would fit perfectly and rule with impeccable social grace, Charlotte will either have to force herself into the mold or break free of it, risking what little she has left for everything that she can gain.*** Copyright © 2014 by Nina Tippett.
