《A Tale of Two - Beeduo》A Broken Promise

Tubbo's POV:
I woke up and immediately looked over my shoulder to see if Ranboo was there.
He wasn't.
I groaned and aggressively forced my head back down to the pillow. I was upset. Ranboo had already woken up. I was hoping he would still be asleep so that I could look at him close up for awhile. He was gorgeous.
I huffed and brought my knees to my head. I could hear Ranboo laugh. I quickly looked up and towards the door. Ranboo was standing in the doorway. He was so heckin' tall. I smiled big.
"Ranboo! Hey, big man!" I wasn't the least bit mad anymore. He was there now, that's all that mattered.
"You looked mad. Why?" He stopped laughing and seemed more confused.
"Well, it doesn't matter anymore cause' you're here." I smiled even bigger.
"Oh- uhm.. Ok?" He came over to the bed and sat down.
"Ranbooo, what time is it?" I was still tired and wanted to go back to sleep.
"Tubbo, don't even think about going back to bed. It's 11:48am." He literally read my mind.
"WHAT THE- HOW?!" I became really upset.
"Come on. I've made breakfast." He smiled at me. He had his mask on, but I could still tell. I just somehow knew that it was a lovely smile٫ and I liked that.
I felt warm inside, like my body had its own little sun floating around in there, and my sun just arose.
"I- uh, ok." I rubbed the back of my neck.
I couldn't understand what he had just done to me. It felt painful but amazing.
"Uhh.. Are you ok, Tubbo?" He could tell I was nervous.
"M-Mhm.. Lets go I'm hungry." I quickly headed to the door٫ so that he couldn't see my face. I raced down the stairs toward the kitchen.
Ranboo followed quickly behind me. I sat down at the table, still looking down. I had no clue how I was just noticing that I'd slept in the same bed as him, cuddled him, and held his hand. I knew that some friends did this, but it didn't feel quite like a friendship to me. I hadn't even known him for that long, though.
After thinking about all that, and processing it, I was so nervous and flustered that I was shaking a bit.
Ranboo came over to me and grabbed my shoulders from behind. He brought his head close to my face, standing behind me, me sitting and him standing. He tried to look at me, but I wouldn't let him. I kept my head down and looked the opposite direction of him.
"Tubbo, what's going on? Why are you being like this all of the sudden?" He seemed genuinely concerned, and I could tell for sure.
"Yes, Ranboo, I'm fine. I-I swear.." I couldn't look up, even if I wanted to.

"A-Alright Tubbo.. You don't have to tell me then. I'll get your plate." I felt him let go of my shoulders.
I didn't even know myself what's wrong with me, so how could I tell him?
Ranboo came back with my plate a few seconds after he left. He set it down in front of me and began walking up the stairs.
"I- Where are you going, Boo?" I didn't want him to leave, regardless of how I felt at the moment.
"I'm just going up to my room. You can come up here when you're done." He didn't even look at me.
"But.. I don't want you to leave." I was really quiet when I said that. Ranboo stopped moving.
"Why not?" He became nearly inaudible as well.
"Because I like your company." He turned around and shook his head.
"I mean, ok..?" He came back down and stood behind me, a little to the side. He was just playing on his phone or whatever.
Soon after, I finished my food. I was still so tired. I just leaned my head back in my chair.
Ranboo giggled quietly. He ruffled my brown, fluffy hair before taking my plate from the table to go put it in the sink.
I felt warm again. I wanted him to continue messing with my hair. I felt calm and relaxed when he did that, instead of feeling nervous and embarrassed. I frowned.
He walked behind me and pulled my chair out. My eyes opened wide out of shock.
"Come on, we're going back upstairs."
I nodded my head and we went up to his room.
He layed down on his bed with his head leaning up against the headboard.
I was so tempted to lay down right on top of him with my head laying on his chest.
I was frozen, standing up in the middle of the room, thinking about how comfy I would be if I did lay on him. I was stuck staring at him.
He looked up from his phone at me. My eyes opened wide. I realized then that I probably looked like a creep.
"Are you just gonna stand there or are you gonna come sit by me?" He patted the spot next to him for me to come lay next to him. I nodded my head and laughed nervously.
"Oh- Yeah, yeah, I'm coming." I walked slowly toward him and lie next to him, my head almost touching his shoulder.
"Tubbo, I think we should try that thing again."
"What thing?"
"When we asked things about each other."
I remembered that. I was slightly worried, though. I didn't want to ask the wrong thing again and make him feel upset.
"Uhm.. Are you sure you want to..? I-I might screw up again-"
"Oh, no, no, no, Tubbo. Don't worry about that. I'll be ok. Ask whatever you want." He cut me off. I was kind of relieved when he said that, still slightly worried at the same time, though.

"U-Uhm.. Ok, then."
"Here, I'll go first. What's your sexuality? If you feel comfortable answering of course." He sounded so ready. Like he wasn't even the least bit nervous asking that.
"Oh, I'm bisexual, actually." He looked at me wide eyed.
"Really? That's cool! I am, too."
We were interrupted by my phone buzzing. I had apparently gotten a message. It was from Tommy, a friend from my old school.
The message read: "Hey, Tubbo! How have ya been?"
"OH MY GOD, HE TEXTED ME!" I yelled out without even noticing.
"..Who did?" Ranboo was quiet just then. It sort of scared me.
"Hahah. My friend from my old school. He just messaged me. I'm so happy!"
"..Oh, ok. Awesome. I need to use the restroom. I'll be right back." He said as he got up.
Not gonna lie, I felt a bit worried for him. He didn't sound exactly normal..
Ranboo's POV:
I slammed the bathroom door shut. What was wrong with me?? I hadn't even known him for that long, so why was I feeling like I wanted to punch a hole in my bathroom wall?! I aggressively grabbed both sides of my hair and ruffled it up. I felt so-.. jealous..?
The worst part about it was the fact that I refused to accept. I couldn't like him. I'd never liked anyone.
I sat down on the floor and repeated the same thing over and over again inside my head.
I don't like him. I don't like him. I don't like him.
I can't even remember how many times I repeated this in my mind.
Tubbo came through the door minutes later and looked down at me, eyes open wide.
"I- Ranboo?! What are you doing on the floor??! Are you alright?!!" He yelled as he raced over and sat right next to me, rubbing my back nonstop.
"Tubbo..? Wha- Wait, why are you in here? P-Please, get out.." I couldn't respond. I wasn't gonna tell him.
"What? Are you insane? No! I-I'm not just gonna leave you alone like this!" He was really serious about this. I could tell by his tone.
"Well.. That's what I want. I want to be left alone.." I felt sorry for saying that when he was just trying to help, but there wasn't anything he could do.
"I-.. Ranboo, please don't do this.. I'm not gonna leave you. I can't!" He was crying at this point.
"Woah, woah. woah! Hey, no, no, no, please don't cry, Tubbo I promise I'm ok!" I turned to face him and pulled him in for a hug. I didn't want him to worry.
"Ranboo, please tell me what's wrong.. I really want to help you." He said, sniffling in between his sentences.
"It's nothing, Tubbo, I promise. I just needed to sit down for awhile." I tried to quiet down to calm him a bit.
"Ranboo, I'm worried.. I really want to know when something's bothering you." He dug his head into my shoulder, groaning a little.
"Tubbo, nothing's bothering me." I was really quiet now.
"Y-You promise..?" I slightly nodded.
"I promise."

"I'm bored. Can we go somewhere?" Tubbo said, laying flat on my bed.
"Where do you wanna go?"
"Hmmmm.. Maybe we could just go on a walk?" He propped his head up to look at me. I chuckled slightly.
"Alright, sure." I walked over to the door to grab my sweatshirt and I pulled my mask up. Tubbo frowned.
"Why can't you just take your mask off? It's literally useless." He stood up.
"I just- don't want to, I guess." I pulled my sweatshirt over my head.
"But.. I like your face, boo." I sighed.
"Ok, well you're the only one then." I laughed.
"Hey! Oh, come on, you know that's not true!"
"Mhm, say that all you want." I teased.
"Alright, I will then! Every day!" I shook my head.
"Sure, sure." I said as he crossed his arms.
"Oh, wait. I forgot you don't have your clothes. Wait a second, I can get you something." I said as I paced over to my closet. He laughed a nervous laugh and I could see him scratch the back of his neck. His face looked a little pink, too, maybe it was just the light, though.
I picked out some clothes that didn't fit me anymore. I knew they wouldn't exactly fit him either, but there wasn't anything else I could do.
I gave him the clothes and he thanked me before going in and closing the bathroom door.
When he came out٫ my eyes instantly lit up. He looked so cute. He was wearing a yellow t-shirt my mom got me that I never wore, with some baggy overalls that were just slightly big on him. His hair was all ruffled and in his face.
"Awh." I couldn't help but to say that. I didn't do it on purpose, but my mouth couldn't stay closed.
"A-Awh?" He asked very quietly. He tightened up and looked straight down. I knew his face was red, I could just feel it somehow.
"Sorry!" I laughed. "I couldn't help it. You look adorable." I pulled up my mask even more. I was clearly red, too.
"I- oh shut up, will you?!" He covered his face.
My heart skipped 1,000 beats. I should've had a heart attack right then. I wouldn't like him, I couldn't. But I'd have to admit that he was by far the cutest boy I'd ever met.
"Come on." I grabbed his hand. "I'm ready for this walk."

Starchild
“It’s life’s illusions I recall. I really don’t know life at all.” from the song, Both Sides Now, by Joni Mitchell Starchild is an adventure novel set within an understanding of reality that is rooted in Eastern spiritual traditions. It takes as its starting point experiments in remote viewing that were genuinely undertaken by the American military in the nineteen-nineties under the name of the Stargate Project. It then imagines how a more advanced attempt to weaponise the capabilities of consciousness might have been developed in the present day.The story then explores how Ultimate Reality might respond to such a threat.Deep, elemental forces thus bring together Samantha Martin and Sahadeva Varma, old colleagues from the Stargate Project, to avert the apocalyptic consequences of this military attempt to weaponise consciousness. This fast-paced story spans genres including romance, action, adventure, science fiction and more. Although this story is based on concepts drawn from established spiritual traditions, these have sometimes been extrapolated to the point of very extreme speculation for the needs of an adventure story.Much of the underlying philosophy, however, as explained in the dharma talks given by Samantha Martin, is paraphrased from the guidance of respected spiritual teachers. Scheduling: Starchild is a previously unpublished novel of one hundred thousand words which was serialised in weekly instalments over twenty-five weeks from 15th November 2021 to the 29th April 2022. Each instalment contains five chapters – an average of approximately four thousand words in each instalment.
