Damien's pov:
I stepped out of the elevator and walked straight to her office. However, I met Elijah on my way.
"Oh, hi." He said when he noticed me.
"Hi," I replied.
"Came to see Savannah?" He asked and I nodded.
"I just need to hand her this files," I said and he smirked.
"Alright," he said and I walked passed him.
"Oh, don't forget that these rooms are not soundproof." He said behind me and I chuckled when I realised what he was saying. Was that his way to say that he approved that I go out with his sister?
"I'll keep that in mind," I said not looking back. I reached her office and knocked. I heard a 'come in' and I walked in.
She was writing something quickly and didn't look up yet.
"Did you get it?" She asked, still focus on her work.
"I did." Her head snapped up when she recognised my voice.
"You did?" She asked, wide-eyed.
I walked to her table and put the file in front of her. She grabbed it and went through all the pages.
"How did you get that?" She asked shocked.
"I have my ways." I shrugged taking a seat in front of her.
"Well, that's awesome." She smiled.
"You know what would be more awesome?" I asked looking at her.
"What?" She asked confused.
"Dinner together?" I shrugged. I watched as her confused expression changed when she realised what I said.
"Oh,"
"So?," I asked.
"It's only 5:30 pm and I have a file to finish." She said and I shrugged.
"I'll wait," I said and she looked unsure.
"It might take longer." She added.

"I'll wait," I said again and she sighed.
"Well then, if you want..." she trailed off and I nodded. I walked to the couches in the room and sat down. From where I was, I could see her clearly. She returned back to the file and I took my phone out.
I glanced up and found myself staring at her. She looked so concentrated that she wasn't bothered by the fact that someone was staring at her.
----
It's already 6:45 pm and I was still in her office. I read my emails to kill some times.
"Alright, I'm done." She sighed leaning in her seat.
"Tired?" I asked and she looked my way.
"A little bit and I'm sorry you had to wait so long." She apologized and I shake my head no.
"No, it's okay. We can leave now." I said and she nodded.
The door opened and Elijah walked in. He noticed me and raised an eyebrow. He then looked at Savannah.
"So are you coming home with me?" Elijah asked Savannah and she shakes her head no.
"We are going out for dinner." She said and Elijah smirked.
"Alright, don't forget what I've told you too." He said before leaving the office.
"What did he tell you?" Savannah asked confused.
"Nothing important. Let's go." I said standing up. I put my phone back in my pocket and waited for her. She grabbed her bag and turn off the lights. We both made our way to the elevator and went to the ground floor.
-----
I parked the car and we stepped out. We walked inside and a lady attended us. She showed us our table and handed the menu to us.
"How's your arm?" She asked and I looked up from the menu.

"It's fine," I said, not giving many details. I don't want her to ask me where I got that wound. I can't tell her about the Mafia stuff yet.
"H-how did you even got hurt there?" She asked curiously.
"You are too curious." I chuckled, not replying to her questions. I guess she noticed that I didn't want to talk about it since she looked down at the menu.
"What are you going to order?" She asked and I looked down.
"I don't know," I replied looking at the food's option.
After a few minutes, we both decided what we wanted to eat. We ordered and they served us two glass of water while we wait.
"I'll be out of town for a few days," I said, gaining her attention.
"Oh, where are you going?" She asked, leaning her elbow on the table.
"I have some business that I need to complete, I don't know exactly how many days I'll be there," I explained and she nodded.
Crawford and I need to go to a Mafia meeting. We usually go every 2 months to keep the other Mafia leaders updated on our activities. I don't usually say many things because not all of them are happy about changes. Some leaders envy others when they can't reach a certain level of respect. Like me.
Many of the leaders show off their power when we go there, however, I just sit down and let them do whatever they want. But if they hurt anyone from my family or anyone that I care about, then it can be really messy.
"That's alright, everything is going smoothly. I hope we don't have any problems." She said and I nodded.
"If anything happens, you can call me anytime. I'll make my best to try to solve it." I stared firmly.
"When are you leaving?" She asked, reaching out to take her glass of water.
"Tomorrow morning," I said and she nodded. She took a sip from her water and put the glass on the table. Suddenly music started to play and we watched as some couples went to the middle. They all started to slow dance while a lady was playing her violin.
I glanced at Savannah and she was smiling looking at the couples dancing. I never danced since I join this Mafia world. It doesn't really go with my cold and heartless look. People wouldn't fear me if I do these kinds of things but I don't mind changing that for her.
"Will you have this dance with me?" I asked and she looked at me. I put my hand forward and she put her hand on mine. The fact that she didn't hesitate to do it, shows how she wanted to dance.
I pulled her in the middle and put my arm around her waist. Her arm went on my shoulder as I held her other hand in mine. We swing to the music, the smile never leaving her face.
And we both danced until they served our food.

Fallout: Vault X
An original novel set in the Fallout universe, written to be accessible to all, featuring unique people and places. Vol.II. out now Fallout: Vault X tells the story of John. A vault dweller, who spent every day of his twenty five years underground. Like his father, and his father before him. Proud to live in the last remaining bastion of humanity, all that survived The Great War of the atomic age. Hidden deep below the surface of the earth, toiling under brutal conditions. Year after year, decade upon decade. All to expand into the natural cave system the Vault occupied, building for the future. However, John knew what his forefathers did not, that everything he’d been taught was a lie. After finishing school at the age of ten, John received his standard issue pipboy. An arm mounted personal computer, worn by everyone in the Vault. Used to coordinate the relentless pace of expansion, needed to work as an apprentice. To learn the craft that would be his life’s work. A noble calling to ensure a future for all that remained of the human race. A quirk of fate saw John equipped not with the crude, clunky, pipboy model his father wore. That almost everyone around him wore. His looked smaller, sleeker, finished in a jet black sheen. And capable of doing far more than its drab counterparts. The world above had been ravaged by atomic flames, yet life clung to its bones. The Red Valley fared better than most in the century since the bombs fell. The clean water and rich soil protected by rolling hills. All spared from direct strikes, for the most part. Life survived here. Trees spawned from charred ground, misshapen, green leaves turned red. Along with simple crops, grown wild at first, then cultivated by the survivors. The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed. The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own. This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes
