Savannah's pov:
It was already 5 pm and I was in my room. My closet's door was open and there was a lot of clothes on my bed and on the floor. I finally pick my outfit and laid it on the chair in my room.
I hurriedly cleaned up the mess I made and pick out my accessories. I already took a shower so I quickly dressed up.
Dad gave me this dress for my 19th birthday and I never wore it before. I was really lucky it still fit me perfectly. This year I didn't have time to go and do some shopping.
I did my make up and straightened my hair. I grabbed my purse and put all my necessary things in it.
"Hey, are you done?" Elijah asked walking in my room.
"Yeah, why?" I asked and he showed me his tie. I grabbed it and tie it around his collar. Dad actually showed us how to do it but only I remembered it.
"Here," I said once I'm done.
"Thank you. Dad, mom and Piagne are waiting for us in the living room." He said and I nodded.
"Let's go."
We both walked downstairs and found them in the living room.
(Paigne's outfit⬆️)
We all walked to the car and sat down.
-----
We reached the hall and as soon as we step on the red carpet at the front entry, the press came to us. There was only a red rope barrier that was stopping them from coming for closer to us.
They clicked a lot of pictures while we walked inside the hall. Some of my bodyguards walked with us to the front entry and stayed outside to watch around.
When we walked in, the whole area was crowded. Crawford, Zach and I went to the bar to grab a drink.

"So I can get drunk right?" Zach asked taking a sip of his champagne.
"Dude, you just came here." Crawford pointed out and Zach shrugged.
"It takes time for me to get drunk. So I can start now." He said and drank his last sip. He asks the bartender to pour more for him.
"I'm not going to look after his drunk ass," Crawford said turning towards me and I chuckled.
"I can look after myself." Zach snapped.
I shake my head and looked around. There were many people in the middle of the room talking to each other. I looked at the entrance and another businessman walked in with his family.
I looked behind the man and saw her. The same hazel eyes. She was really looking beautiful in her dress. She attracted a lot of eyes as she walked in.
"Got your eyes on her?" Zach asked beside me.
"Isn't that Mr Ross?" Crawford asked and I shrugged.
"Do you know them?" I asked, my eyes still on her.
"Yeah, dad did some project with Mr Ross," Crawford said and I looked at him surprised.
"Dad worked with them?" I asked and he nodded.
"You remember the orphanage that dad used to visit a lot? They both work together and raised a lot of money for the orphanage." Crawford explained. I didn't know about that. Dad was really close to Crawford than he was to me and he would tell him everything.
"The orphanage was called 'The Little Angels' right?" Zach asked and Crawford nodded.
"What happens to the orphanage now?" I asked curiously.
"I don't know. Since dad died four years ago, I didn't really go there." Crawford admitted.
I was really curious about what happened to the orphanage. It's been four years since dad stopped going there and stopped sending donations. I hope it was still good and it got new people to donate to them.

"Do you want me to contact the orphanage?" Crawford asked and I thought about it.
"Yeah, I want to go and see how it is," I said and he nodded.
"I'll work on it tomorrow," Crawford said and I nodded.
It's been one hour since we were here and it was getting boring. I looked around and my eyes landed on Laura. She was making her way towards us and she looked really good.
(Laura's outfit⬆)
I heard a faint gasp beside me and I turned to see Elijah's mouth dropped on the floor as he looked at Laura.
"Close your mouth Romeo," I smirked and he turned to glare at me.
"Hey," She said as she approached us. I reached to hug her and she hugged me back.
"You look really pretty," Paigne added while hugging her.
"Thank you," Laura replied, pulling away from her.
"How many eyes did you catch tonight?" I teased and she chuckled.
"I don't think I catch any eye." She said and I rolled my eyes.
"Oh, you did." Paigne chuckled pointing at Elijah. He was staring at her. Laura blushed looking down while Elijah came out of his thoughts and glare at us again.
"Do you want a drink?" He asked Laura ignoring us.
"S-sure." She replied smiling.
"Let's go to the bar." He said and before we can say anything, both lovebirds went away.
"Do you think he will ask her out tonight?" Paigne asked curiously.
"I don't know but I hope so," I said and she chuckled.
After a few minutes, everyone started to move away from the centre of the room. Music started to play and every couple went dancing in the middle. Mom and dad went to join the rest.
"Look over there," Paigne said grabbing my forearm. I looked to where she was looking and saw Elijah and Laura dancing.
"And here we are alone." Paigne sighed and I chuckled.
"It isn't that bad," I said
"But I want to dance." She pouted.
"Well there is a lot of guys over there, go and ask one of them," I suggested and she glares at me.
"You are crazy." She said shaking her head.
"There is no harm in trying." I pointed out but before she could talk, we heard a voice behind us.
"Excuse me?"

Shades of the Moon
I'm rewriting this story! I have taken down Arc 2 and Arc 3 already to avoid spoiling my new novel. The only reason I'm keeping the first 10 chapters is nostalgia; the writing is awkward and the story is not plotted out properly, but it's here if anyone wants to compare it to the new one. If you'd like to read a more professionally written version of this story, I highly suggest checking out my Synergy. Synopsis version too-many-to-count: “I see,” Kiona said. “But . . . you’re changing once again, aren’t you?” The entity considered her question, lifting a clawed hand towards the night sky. They observed the back of their hand idly, watching the glowing orange veins pulse alongside their pitch-black exoskeleton. The wind picked up right then, and Kiona shivered—just as much from the cold as from the savage grin on the creature's face. “That’s right,” the entity said, clenching their hand slowly into a fist. They let out a quiet laugh, staring defiantly at the Moon as it rose from behind the clouds. “We are shades, yet not exactly. Not like the others. Here, in this world, we've become something more. We are the Shades of the Moon.” There was a heartbeat of silence, during which Kiona joined the entity in their skygazing. The light-green Moon loomed over the city, shining like the entity's eyes. It promised otherworldly knowledge and terrible secrets. It promised progress. It promised change. In that moment, Kiona couldn't have imagined anything more beautiful. “Shades of the Moon, huh?” she said, smiling a bit. It had a nice ring to it.
