《Chaos Wielder》The Brawl

Two young teenagers, only 17 years of age stood face to face several meters apart. Both sported pitch-black eyes, almost shiny black hair, and a wooden sword in both their hands, but that was where the similarities ended.
One boy was tall and fairly built, his parted hair touched his cheeks and his face wore a serious expression. The other was slightly shorter and had a well-built body. His short hair was spiked up and a smile stretched across his face.
The silent peace only lasted seconds before the tall boy lunged in, his sword piercing forwards, only to be slashed away by the other boy's heavy strike. The sword rattled in the tall boy's weak hands, but he pushed on, pressuring his opponent with sharp stabs.
The burly buy started to sweat, barely dodging and deflecting the attacks, but his luck ran out as a quick stab slipped past his defense and dug into his chest, right on his solar plexus.
"Arrghhh!" He yelled as he dropped and writhed onto the cold black stone floor.
"Did you have to hit me that hard!" He sputtered, trying to rub away the searing pain in the center of his chest.
"Hah, you'll never beat me like that! You don't have the balls to engage or the wits to beat me. I'm almost embarrassed to have an idiot like you as my brother!"
"You asshole" The beaten boy grumbled back.
Jay, despite being born only a few seconds after the beaten boy, was significantly different. Although he always had a weak frame, his skill with the sword was unmatched. On the other hand, his barely older brother, Zane had always been physically strong but sloppy with the sword. Not that he needed it as he had another talent that made up for that.

"You wanna play rough! Then let's play rough" Zane snapped as he got back up.
"Wait. Hold o-"
"NOPE" Zane shouted as the air around him suddenly changed. The light around him twisted and darkened as red wisps surged around his body, forming an ominous sight.
"Dammit, Zane! You know this isn't fair!" Jay screamed as he retreated.
"YOU ASKED FOR THIS!" Zane furiously responded as he made a charged jump towards him, crumbling the rock-hard stone floor beneath him.
He closed the distance between the two almost instantly, leaving Jay with little option other than guard himself with his measly wooden sword. As expected, it splintered as Zane's fist passed through it, smashing into Jay's face and sending him flying. He landed several feet away, his body still rolling until resting a few seconds later.
"Hah! How about that!" Zane shamelessly grinned as Jay lay there, inches from fainting.
Eventually, Jay regained some energy and sat back up.
"C'mon Zane you know I can barely use Chaos, it's not a fair fight!"
"Well, I can barely use a sword so it's even!"
"That's different! You could have killed me!"
"I'm good with Chaos, I controlled my strength so you would only get the face pummelling you deserve" Zane remarked back, helping Jay up.
Chaos is a general term loosely used to describe supernatural powers derived from exotics. Exotics are particles or energy that do not natively exist in the 4 space-time dimensions but can still affect them in various ways. In fact, gravity was the first discovered Exotic, being a particle from another dimension!
In many cases, Exotics can be tied to matter in normal space-time, and in rarer cases, biological beings can adapt to take advantage of Exotics to perform supernatural feats, colloquially termed since ancient times 'Chaos'.

Zane is a case of a being strongly endowed with Chaos, while Jay could barely pass off being able to wield it.
Before the two brothers could devolve back to fighting, the only wooden door in the barren room suddenly slowly creaked open. As the gap widened, the head of a cute 11-year-old girl with pitch-black eyes peeked through.
"Are you guys proper fighting?" She innocently asked.
Despite the seemingly harmless question, both brothers broke into a nervous sweat.
"Uhhh no! We were just play fighting! See" Jay stammered as he began to throw exaggerated fake punches that softly hit Zane. Zane quickly realized his intentions and before long they both were playfully fighting, a scene that would almost look comical if not for that painfully forced smile stretched across their faces.
Unfortunately, the girl didn't fall for it. Her innocent expression transformed into an evil grin as she chuckled.
"I know you guys were proper fighting! I'M GOING TO TELL DAD!" She shrieked, slamming the door behind her before running away.
"Quick grab her!" Jay screamed as he ran to the door to open it, Zane following quickly behind.
Outside the room they entered a large dark hall built almost entirely out of black stone. Crude ancient designs protruded from the walls and ceilings. Once they likely looked grand and luxurious, but the ages left them eroded and weathered.
The little girl whizzed through the hall with the two brothers quickly on her trail. But before they could silence her, she manages to reach a heavily worn gilded wooded door. Pushing through it she shrieked at the top of her lungs.
"DAD JAY AND ZANE WERE FIGHTING WHEN YOU SAID THEY WEREN'T ALLOWED TO!"

Wulfgard: The Hunt Never Ends
In the civilized world of humans, 'monsters' have all but passed into legend. But when something goes bump in the night, when people begin to disappear, when a dark mystery begins to haunt even the most peaceful villages, there is only one organization to turn to: the Hunters. The Venatori. Having lived a life of discipline and service, former soldier Caiden Voros finds something even worse than the wars of humans: the monsters that hunt them. Horrors yet unknown even to him and his many scars await in the claws, talons, fangs, and mysterious powers of creatures so far beyond humans that he must dedicate himself entirely to the art of slaying them. Harboring a secret of his own and in a constant struggle to find answers while maintaining his sanity, however, Caiden begins to ask the age-old question... Who is truly worse, the monsters or the Men? Wulfgard: The Hunt Never Ends is an episodic collection of stories, each of which stand on its own, but they also build upon each other in a consecutive order, bridging a gap between a novel and short story collection. These stories follow monster hunter Caiden Voros and his partner Gwen Vergil as they embark on tales of mystery, horror, and adventure to track down monsters - the living dead, beast-men, shape-shifters, spirits, and many more - that would do harm to innocent lives and, by whatever means necessary, put a stop to their terrors. Their motives, however, are not always what they seem.
