《The Ripper》Night Terrors

Eric POV
'My heart was racing as I dashed through the woods, my breath getting heavier with each step. I had been running for God knows how long, and I was tired every muscle in my body was aching but I knew I couldn't stop, because if I did they would catch me.
I kept on running, I didn't know where I was heading but I knew one thing, I had to get out of here.
After running for what seemed like hours I decided to take a rest. I sat myself down by a tree trying to catch my breath. Unfortunately this was a mistake, I was soon surrounded by men in suits.
The men moved apart to make way for a man in a lab coat. The man had a smile which sent shivers down my spine.
He took out a syringe which had some green liquid inside " hold still." he said as he came closer.
"no...no please...not again... please nooo!" I screamed as the needle went
in me'
I woke up screaming it was another nightmare , I had had these ever since I escaped from that dreaded place. I lay back on my bed my back drenched in sweat I looked at my poor excuse of a home.
I walked over to the bathroom to cleanse my face. I looked into my mirror to see a face I could barely recognize as my own.
The once innocent face now replaced with one which had seen the worst of humanity.
I took my jacket and headed out into the night. Stepping out of my apartment I heard my noisy neighbors arguing, some loud music, probably from some teenagers having a party or something.
I stepped out of the building and into the chilly night, the wind rustling my hair. I took a whiff of fresh air and started my run, I don't know why but a run always helped, the pitter patter of my feet against the pavement drowning away all other thoughts and sounds. I loved this feeling, the feeling of being free and alone.

I kept running until I eventually reached a bar. This was my daily routine, wake up in the middle of the night, go for a run then get a drink.
I stepped into the bar, the bar was filled with people who all had either tattoos or piercings those who wore jackets all had a black bison printed on the back,' probably all in a gang or something' I thought to myself then made my way to the counter not paying them anymore attention .
I could feel their gazes on me as I made my way to the counter. As I got to the counter I saw the bar tender, he was a skinny man, his face had lots of wrinkles and he had a lot of bags under his eyes; the man probably hadn't slept in ages.
Bartender: "what can I get you mate?"
Eric: "Scotch."
The bartender soon arrived with my drink, I downed the drink in one gulp.
The burning sensation in my throat indicating this was good scotch.
Eric: I looked up to the bartender and raised my glass, "another one."
He nodded at me and went to get another glass.
I sat waiting for my glass when a burly man with a huge ginger beard came up to me and spoke.
Burly man: "that's my seat." he spoke in a deep voice, breathing his hot stinky breath unto my face causing my nose to twitch at the horrid smell that escaped from his mouth.
I looked up to get a closer look at the man's face, then turn back to my new drink.
Eric: "Find a new one." I told him as I gulped down the drink.' Damn... that's some good scotch. 'I thought to myself purposely ignoring the ginger.
I got up, put some money down on the counter then turned to leave.
BARTENDER POV
The gang had all got up to block the entrance.

Harvey:" I don't like people ignoring me."
Young man:" Then you shouldn't say dumb stuff. "the young man said then shoved Harvey and began to make his way to the door.
Harvey:" Are you calling me dumb?!" Harvey questioned his face turning red with each breath he took.
'Apologize... just apologize. ' I kept muttering to myself, hoping the young man didn't do anything stupid. I knew the gang pretty well and they weren't easy to get along with.
They had once beaten a man half dead just because according to them, 'he looked at them funny. '
Young man: the man stopped then turned to look Harvey right in the face, " so what if I am? " he asked while staring Harvey right in the eye.
Harvey expression turned sour, he clenched his fist tight. His veins bulging on both his fists.
The rest of the gang slowly encircled the both of them, cutting all chances of escape for the young man.
The young man after a while realized the encirclement and began to move his eyes, presumably trying to figure a way out or at least that's what I thought, but what he said next left me stunned.
Young man: "hmph...20 against 1, I've been in worse."
My jaw dropped as he said that ; did he not see the men surrounding him? did he lose his mind? or was he just that confident? Whatever the reason was this wasn't going to end well.
Harvey threw the first punch straight for the young man's face, he ducked and sent a fist right into Harvey's gut causing Harvey to fall back into the table.
Two men rushed him, he gave a smirk then kneed one in the face then flipped the other straight through a table.
He looked at the rest and spoke "well come on then, I don't have all night you know."
The men looked at each other then rushed him, he rushed in and caught one guy and pushed him into the rest.
*CRASH!* one of the guys had just smashed his head with stool but what broke was the stool
He turned to look at the man, "that hurt" he said before headbutting the man and knocking him out.
Three men rushed him all at once; he took a bottle of whiskey then smashed it against one's head knocking him out. He turned to face the other guy and kneed him in the gut causing him to kneel.
As he did so, he flipped him into the third guy causing them both to go over the counter and smash into the drinks.
He turned to look at the only guy left, Harvey who was struggling to get to his feet.
He walked over to Harvey and stomped his right knee, a sickening crush was heard, Harvey's screams soon following after.
Tears and snot were coming out of Harvey non stop, I couldn't believe it he had single handedly taken out 20 guys, who was this guy.
He bent down and took Harvey's wallet and threw it to me "sorry for the mess." I just stared as he walked out of the bar...well what was left of it anyway.
ERIC POV
As I stepped out the bar I heard a crackle, and looked up as it started raining.
Eric: "oh fuck me."
I began the long run home in the Godforsaken rain.

While in English exists only one word for it, the ancient Greeks with their aim for self-understanding and knowledge found eight different varieties of love that we might all experience at some point:1. Eros (Erotic love) - represents the idea of sexual passion and desire;2. Philia (Affectionate love) - friendship, love between equals;3. Storge (Familial love) - love between close family members;4. Ludus (Playful love) - the early stages of falling in love;5. Mania (Obsessive love) - an imbalance between eros and ludus;6. Pragma (Enduring love) - love that has matured and developed over time;7. Philautia (Self love) - self-love in its healthiest form;8. Agape (Selfless love) - the highest and most radical type of love.(Unless stated otherwise, everything except the art belongs to me.)
