Elluet Craven a dragonewt known between adventurers as a “Champion” the title given to humans that are near to become “Heroes”. He was appointed commander of the raid by the Council of Guilds giving him total control over the others members.
Ryckna: I do not care if you are the commander Elluet you have no right to put my apprentice {and subject} in a cage like a monster.
After arriving at Verol, Elluet ask for the custody of Orchid saying that she is a monster and should be treat as one.
Despite Ryckna efforts, Orchid was still taken away from the party and thrown into a wooden cage, which is suspended midair with magic at the town’s center; this is to prevent her from going underground and scape from there.
Elluet: Alraunes are monsters, she should be grateful that we are keeping her alive.
Bors: Ryckna was studying her so we can know more about them.
Elluet: I’m impressed that you want to defend that thing Bors, after what happen with your brother.
Bors remained silent but his face was showing anger, the dead of his brother at the hands of an alraune was still a fresh wound in him but he understood the importance of Ryckna research.
Elluet: Regarding the research on alraunes, when the [Swirl Sweet Witch] arrives we can ask her to do it, it would be faster if we let a witch dissect something like that.
Ryckna: No, you’re not doing that.
Their discussion lasted until nightfall.
At night, Orchid was lost in her thoughts while gazing at the sky.
Orchid: This reminds when I was caught stealing at a market, but I only got scold by my parents and had to do community service now my live is in danger and I didn’t do anything.
A gentle breeze blows from the direction of the forest, bringing a small calm to the people of Verol and to Orchid.

Orchid: The breeze feels so good… *takes a deep breath* but why does it brings a nostalgic scent.
Victoria asked Elluet if she could take some food to Orchid to which he accepted only if she is escorted by guards. To give the food she has to climb stairs that will be set at a safe distance from the cage.
Victoria: Orchid I bring you some food.
Said with a smile and her typical cheerful voice, but Orchid didn’t turn to face her and remained silent.
Victoria: I… I made this in my family tavern.
Still no response.
Victoria: Are you all right? I am here of you want to talk.
Orchid turns to face Victoria.
Victoria is surprise to see Orchid about to cry, she is still holding tears and her lips are trembling.
Victoria: What is wrong?
Orchid: I… *sob* I… I can’t.
She could not tell her friend how she felt, Orchid realize that despite having the memories and part of the personality of her past life, she was no longer a young adult woman but she was again a little girl.
The scent carried by the breeze was not only nostalgic but also familiar; it was something she was attached to engrave in a memory from before she met with Ryckna, the scent of her mother from this world.
It trigger in Orchid the psyche of a normal kid who realize that it’s lost and alone, away from her mother.
Orchid: *sob* I can’t hold it *sob* much longer *sob* take your family and run as far as you can.
Victoria: Wh… Why?
Orchid: *sob* Mother.
With those words, Victoria understood the situation.
Guard: Monster shut up already.
The guards start to hit the cage, the sobbing of Orchid make them want to tease her.
At the sight of Orchid struggle to hold her cry, Victoria rushed to her family the meat that she bought to her friend fell in the dirt and at the time a guard stretcher his arms to pull a leave from Orchid skirt flower.

Orchid: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!
Orchid starts crying the initial cry has a very high pitch that made the guards around her to collapse and those more farter to have a headache and making them to cover their ears. In the end, a child is a child.
Elluet: What is going on?
Elluet rushes out from the building appointed as the temporary base for the raid, he sees Victoria running away from the contention post towards the entrance of the town, which is near her parents’ home, and starts to follow her.
Ryckna team, that was allow to stay at Victoria place, exited the building along Victoria parents.
Victoria: RYCKNA, MOM, DAD!
Victoria’s mom: VIC! What’s happening?
Victoria rushes at her mother and take her by the saying that they have to get away from the town.
Ryckna: Calm down, tell us what happen?
Elluet: Yes, tell us what did that monster did?
Ryckna: That was Orchid, impressive; her crying has the same potency as a mandrake cry.
Elluet: It’s the time for that.
Ryckna: I don’t think someone like you understand the value of information.
While they were arguing, the wind blow from the forest and petals start to fall from the sky riding the wind.
Kori: I have a bad feeling about this.
John: Me too boy.
Everyone looked at the sky then at the direction the wind comes from, in a moment it stopped.
Calm remain making everyone worries worst… a low crackling sound attracted Elluet attention, it came from the gate, then another one from a near building.
Elluet: Everyone prepare yourselves!
With the sound of a collapsing house and the screams of people the assault begins, vines emerge from the ground, from the houses large trees born at an outstanding speed, soon the town become part of the forest.
From the gate, a gigantic flower stands as it blooms to reveal the one behind the chaos.
???: Where is she?
???: Where is my daughter?
At the time, Orchid released another high pitch cry that knocked more adventurers and civilians, and allows her mother to locate her.
???: There you are my child.
She starts to approach Orchid slowly descending with the gigantic flower.
Elluet: NOW!
With Elluet command a rain of flaming arrows and fireballs are shoot at the alraune.
*BOOM!* A big explosion occurs at the top of the flower.
A face of joy appear in most of the adventurers as they thought it was a direct hit… just to see that they were too far from their target, she blocked the attack with some enchanted vines using them as a shield.
Ryckna: They are known as Apex Predators just by standing in a place luring they prey with scents and neurotoxins.
The word attract Kori's attention.
Ryckna: Now she is mad, who knows what she can do.
Bors: What do you mean?
???: She can decimate humanity.
A childish voice spoke from the rooftop of Victoria home.
Victoria: You are… the [Swirl Sweet Witch] – Sugar.
Sugar: It’s been a long Vici. *smiles*

Blood Quest - A LitRPG
Leon's family has been diagnosed with a new type of incurable blood disease. It's an absolute death sentence and when it turns aggressive, you only have a few more years of painful life left to live. His mother has just begun the last years of the disease when a person supposedly comes back from death with supernatural abilities. He talks about a choice you get after death--get an extra chance to come back to life, or die. Even with Leon's diminishing life span, he won't consider the option of going there, until he meets another survivor who had the same goal as him and succeeded. Leon has a choice to make—die now for a chance to save his mother, or die in a few years, where the disease rapidly melts his muscles from his own body. He enters a game-like world, a sort of limbo, where his ultimate goal is to climb the tower of Katastroph before his mother's time runs out. There are a few problems with this though. The tower is almost impossible to beat, if you die you won't revive, and only three people in over twenty years have actually made it back. Leon has two years to climb the tower, with the help of the few people willing to try, while Ai, the tutorial guide, makes things harder for them. ***** The story starts pretty dark but goes onto a lighter tone. Then (more) dark again. Disclaimer: This story is an experimental project and I hope to get any and all feedback you can give me. Warning: First draft. Chapters tend to be between 3400-4100 words long (about 8-11 A4-pages). Mentioning it since I've seen it in other fictions :P Sometimes they're shorter, sometimes they're longer. ******************************** CHAPTER RELEASES UPDATE: As the first "book" in the series is done, I'm going to release coming chapters somewhat sporadically, and when Writathon ends, I'll probably go back to publishing one chapter per weekend. We'll just have to wait and see! I hope you enjoy the story! I really appreciate all comments and feedback, so if you have anything to say, feel free to voice it :) ************ [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Not Another Isekai RPG Story Alternate
The story ends at Alternate Route Finale. Ch 2-2 and on can be treated as Extra Chapters. I still hadn't edited that one and it's low on priority. I may come back to it if I'm in the mood. Most of the portions of the story will NOT focus on the skills, stats, grinding or battles. More about the dialogues (or the internal monologues) and the MC interacting with the world (or glitching, if you name it.). ... With parts of his memory lost, Takeshi, a 25-year old lazy office worker was transported to a game world. Using his casual knowledge on video-game mechanics, join Takeshi's journey as he discover more about the world, his companions and himself. (only if you're interested though.) My personal review: from ch-2 on expect a lot of perversion going on. It can be pretty weird, like the MC want to be a girl and Y*ri other girls, Fut*nari folks, Traps, the mention of t*ntacle monsters and some lulzy display (like shoving a morning star up someone's b*tthole in retaliation). In here, the MC will discover new things as he kept on exploring and trying different stuff. This story will mostly be character-driven. Explanations about the world and its mechanics was kept to a minimum. The MC's on the shameless side with not much real-life common sense (maybe) and he's (probably) not righteous at all. The other characters can be pretty weird as well. It won't focus on romance. Well that's about it.

Flashback: Siren Song
The year is 1969. Yancy Lazarus—bluesman, gambler, future world-class mage and fix-it man—is just a dumb, unlucky kid serving with the 3rd Battalion 3rd Marines in Vietnam. With just a few weeks left to go until Yancy gets shipped back to the States, he’s just trying to keep his head down and avoid a body bag—no mean feat in Nam. But when his squad is tasked with conducting a routine patrol deep in enemy territory, everything goes to nine kinds of hell, and he quickly sees his chances at survival slipping away. When the radio operators start to pick up some funky, dirty ol’ blues all the way out in the backcountry, it’s a nice change of pace. At least until the men in Yancy’s squad start losing their minds, turning on each other with murderous intent as the music works its deadly power within them. Convinced it’s some kind of new psychological warfare initiative, the squad leader forces the men to push deeper and deeper into the Vietnamese jungle, obsessed with locating the music’s source. What they find, however, isn’t some new technology, but an ancient spirit awoken by the terrible war. Even worse, the music is changing Yancy too, awakening something buried inside of him. Only one thing is certain, nothing is ever going to be the same.See how it all began … *** PRAISE FOR SIREN SONG:Hunter's writing is as low-down, gritty, and insidious as the blues Yancy Lazarus loves. Just like the mysterious music drifting through the jungle toward Yancy's squad, Siren Song will get under your skin and sink its hooks into your mind. —eden Hudson, Author of Halo Bound (the Redneck Apocalypse series) *** Hey everyone, this is James Hunter. This story isn't a full length novel--its a novella length work (25K words), and is part of my Yancy Lazarus series. Its already free on Amazon, so I thought I'd post chapters here for the good folks of Royal Road. If you don't want to wait for updates or would prefer to read it on Kindle, you can pick it up for free here: https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B01066TLC0
