《An unknown world》Chapter 7: Magic (Part IV)

By witnessing Barry who had emerged as the winner in the battle training twice, Daemon could see the potential in Barry's resolve to help them in fighting the bandits that attacked the castle.
A smile emerged from his face as the thought came into his head. While Barry, who had just won the fight, has now fallen on his back because of exhaustion. As he fell, he glimpsed Daemon's sudden reaction, which made him wonder.
Daemon, who was also on the ground, has now got up on his feet. He then stretched out his hand towards Barry to help him get back on his feet. After that, Daemon said to him he will now take the last battle training seriously.
As he heard what Daemon said, somewhere at the back of his head says, "Wait, what? I thought he took the two previous battle trainings seriously?! He looked like he was serious that time, which made me believe he would be this strong if he was serious. But, to tell me you will be serious in the last battle training?! Just how strong can he be if he was serious!"
That thought alone was enough to give him the shivers.
As he cleared the thought from his head, his mind was then snapped back to reality when he noticed Daemon mumbling some words to him.
Daemon concluded his words with the words "Do you understand?" to him.
Barry just blinked his eyes as he doesn't have any idea about what Daemon has said to him.
Daemon facepalmed his face while staring at him and said. "You didn't listen to any words that I said, didn't you?"
Barry then bowed his head and said. "Yes, and sorry."
Daemon just sighed and repeated his words again. "Okay, I will forgive you for that. As I have said, do you still remember what I said to you in the past when you said you wanted to help me fight those bandits before?

Barry nodded his head slightly.
Daemon then said to him, "I take back what I said that time. I will now agree with your offer. You are serious when you said that, right? Don't make fun of promises. One more thing, you must show me you can make me stand firm to my decision. Let me warn you, do not think lightly of the battle with the bandits. Do you understand?"
Barry nodded his head and said the words "Understood" with a trembled voice.
After a while, Daemon then asked Barry to prepare himself for the last battle training which Daemon wants to train him how to use his secondary magic powers in the battle.
Before the battle training begins, Daemon explains to Barry about how the black magic works.
He said that once the magic user gains black magic, it will give a variety of choices for the user. But the user has to choose wisely about their pick because every type of black magic contains side effects.
He even added that only one type of black magic per user, so the user can only pick one.
As he finished explaining about it to Barry, Daemon said that they should go to a place where Barry could read about black magic. He then asked Barry to teleport them there as it would be the safest way for them to move around.
But there was just one problem. He doesn't know where that place is. This is because he can only teleport himself to places that he has been. He doesn't even know a single thing about this world, nor does he know the places in this world. So, his teleportation isn't really useful in terms of transportation, but it is useful in battle.
Then, Daemon said to him he could help to alter his teleportation powers to make it useful for transportation.

He said that if he has upgraded his teleportation powers, Barry could now teleport to other places. The only way he could do that is by having enough information about a certain place.
Excited with the thought of increasing the capability of his teleportation powers, Barry gave Daemon the green light to do so.
Daemon then asked him to activate his teleportation powers while he enchants a spell.
Suddenly, a small magic circle formed beneath his feet. Then, Barry felt a surge in power which caused his entire body to swell during the process. This made him to endure the pain, which makes him close his eyes while he let out a scream.
When he finished screaming out in pain and opened his eyes, he stood at the entrance gate of the town of Mareville.
At first, Barry couldn't understand the words on the sign. But as he blinked his eyes once more, he suddenly can read it in a language that he understands.
Suddenly, Barry had a headache. He was confused about why he had a headache. His vision suddenly blurred until he could only see darkness.
Within the darkness, he saw fragments of memories about the place which seem out of place in his head.
When his vision returned, he then knew that this place was the small town which he saw when he first came here.
But as he looks at the town again, he thinks it would be more appropriate to call it a city because of its size and its structure.
When he realized he was daydreaming just now, he bit his tongue so that he could bring back his senses to him.
When he remembered Daemon was with him at first, Barry scanned his surrounding. But to his surprise, he wasn't anywhere to be found.
Instead, it was a person who wore a ragged hood which appeared behind him.
He got his guard up as the person pulled down his hood. It was in fact Daemon who appeared in such a getup.
Barry felt worried about what will happen next, but all of his worries disappeared when he found out the truth. He then asked him why he wore such a costume.
Daemon just glared at him and said to him in a threatening voice. "What, you got a problem with it? Huh?!"
Barry just kept his mouth shut as he doesn't want to pick a fight with him.
Daemon then kicked him in the butt to make Barry step forward towards the entrance gate. As he advanced past the gate, he was amazed with what he saw.
The city was packed with people who wore traditional clothes. This made his presence stand out against the rest as his clothes were unique.
As they walked through the town, he could see many people lined up at the stalls to buy daily goods sold by wandering merchants. There were also stores, restaurants and cafe which took him by surprise.
The paths and roads were made with stone bricks, while the buildings were made with bricks and concrete cement.
The transportations used engines which run on steam while everything such as street lights runs on mana energy. Daemon has confirmed Barry's thoughts about the things that he saw.
It gave him mixed feelings as they continued to walk towards their destination.
Finally, they have now reached their destination, which is the "Great Library of Magic and Stuff".
