《RELINQUISH》Chapter 51

Either it was the beautiful scenery of that moment that had motivated me to remember, or how the bench was left for one more person to sit down…
But I realized that I was the only one in this world who knew about the curse that Niel and those two had and still sided with Niel instead…
Like that one question I've been asking myself a lot since I was just a little girl, "Having someone from the very beginning of the story, who helps us to get up in our worst times, love that makes us willing to fall and try to get back up with that one person… Wouldn't a story like that feel more beautiful?" If I only have this feeling as the reason…
Of how I loved the moment whenever we sat together, silent as if nothing mattered but his presence there by my side…
As I always like it when he asks me for help with anything, also when he smiles thanking me for it… I liked him from the very beginning… Is all of that really still not enough of a reason for me to do anything to save him from suffering?
Am I brave enough for this kind of role?
“Even if it means that I will be the villain in this story?”
The question just now sounded a little underhanded for me to ask myself, but my answer would still be the same…
For those stupid reasons, for that man's sake, if the world really destined Niel to die, then I would save him even if it had to make the whole world my own enemy…
Luckily, the representation of this world was currently in the hands of the organization I was in at the time… The Sins Taker itself…
So from that moment on, I already knew who I should destroy first…
~~~~~
With all the commotion that recently arose among the elders, also with how I carried out all the missions that Edward had, coupled with his negligence, who was too confident for all of his plans not to be questioned by anyone…
I heard everything the other elders had to say when they talked about Edward.
The man will fall down in a moment…
But it's still far from enough…
As far as I'm concerned, all of those elders only want at least one great carrier power on their side… But didn't really care about the number of souls that affected everything about the person. Or to be more clear, they actually don't quite understand all the systems that would determine the efficiency of a great carrier as a human, or on so many occasions, as a weapon instead.
They had no idea what a great carrier who had too much power within himself could do to them… It's not only his humanity that will change, but also his destiny that will affect the world itself. The only thing they knew was that there was one thing, a handcuff that could withstand their power, and that would be enough.
Just like in the old war, If someone died in battle, regardless of who they were, then it would be classified as their own negligence, and the elders didn't think much of what the implications would be for the future…
"There is no peace without lives sacrificed." A classic phrase they will always use for those who care about death… The problem is, it's not nobody…
You didn't try to kill a man, but a god after all…
All of that ignorance…
Edward who was appointed as the main leader of them all, though his identity as a great carrier he kept it a secret… Or maybe the elders had been told the same thing from the start, and they had been advised not to reveal Edward's true identity, or they were so unsuspecting they hadn't even talked about it all this time… Or… Maybe… I just underestimated those old humans too much because I often felt annoyed by them.
Anyway, what am I trying to say is… Maybe all the ignorance of the other elders about this great carrier thingy was the reason why Edward could be there with them…
Though actually with all the turmoil that had happened recently, also at that time when Niel was surrounded by them to argue, fighting over his ownership, it meant that the decision that had made Edward one of the elders until this moment had not given them any light on the reason for making him a great carrier as one of them as the leader…
That’s why, I just need to scare those humans off with this great carrier stuff, and help them find an excuse to remove Edward from the top spot in the sins taker.
Where back there I'm one hundred percent sure that the elders didn't know anything about Edward's plan in search of the other great carriers and each of their subscontitute, as well as the sentence that always bothered me…
“The takeover of her authority has been completed…” As it was written in red on the records belonging to Aisha, the great carrier of dimension…
~~~~~
So as that's actually a good idea to play with, I suggested to them that Edward's room, where the document is located, be searched and investigated. But I didn't forget to ask them not to bring up my name in it.
After the search really happened, Aisha's whereabouts became a big question for them; all matters regarding the great carrier were then completely withdrawn from Edward's hands by mutual decision.
Next thing, I told the elders about how the two identical missions that were inhumane and too coincidental, the duel, that fake stage happened twice, one for each two great carriers with high offensive capabilities that had been given to Albert and Niel, could be planned by the same one person without their own knowledge…
I said about the current total of their souls that had already exceeded the limit, but I begged them to temporarily ignore Niel from their attention. Apart from that they had no way of defeating him, Niel was also a great carrier with his own high escape magic abilities.
So there would be no point in sacrificing too much effort for the sake of taking care of Niel who would indeed bring no harm to the elders for now… But in exchange, I will obey all their orders and help them to knock Edward off his chair.
~~~~~
In the end it turned out that the elders had known from the very beginning that Edward was a great carrier, but now he was suspected of having strengthened himself…
All of us purposely gave rise to a lot of speculation about Edward who might not be in a position of humanity anymore with all the dark plans he had. The amount of his power is also now under suspicion and distrust since there really is no one who can read the amount of a person's strength other than Niel and that unknown great carrier of knowledge…
Though I do know that Edward was telling the truth when he said he only had two souls within him… But I managed to turn everyone's view of Edward into suspicion about his own humanity.
Just like all the elders apart from that man was just an ordinary human without any power other than all of the titles they got from their each respective countries, what they fear from something they don't have is how it will become the enemy of humanity itself… Or…
Or they just wanted the chair that Edward had for themselves…?
For money?
Either way, I've decided that I'll help them to destroy Edward’s power in Sins Taker, make things look like I wasn't involved, take him down without anyone having to succeed in killing him.
Why?
Because somehow, I've always felt this one thing out of all that I've seen with my own eyes… One thing, that is how one great carrier will affect another, as if for someone who managed to defeat a great carrier, will always trigger destiny to associate them with another great carrier… To find the end of hundreds of tangled threads, You can never escape from one thread without untying the other…
Just like what I would later do to someone who was threatening Niel's life, the same thing probably would happen when Edward felt threatened... I didn't want to lure in any more enemies apart from that guy at that point.
After all, as with the fear I aroused from within those old humans, they couldn't possibly have the courage to deal with the life of any great carrier… All parties then kept their distance from each other, a calm in the bustle suddenly came over to all of us.
~~~~~
A few days passed with me currently on the side of all the elders apart from Edward, I can say all of my plans were a huge success… I got three times as much work as usual, but I don't think that's too important to worry about.
Even though I kept so many things secret from Niel, I can see he has calmed down quite a bit since he doesn't need to use that cursed power for anything anymore.
I noticed that he rarely asked for my help to take him to where his two best friends were, but I didn't see him ever sad because of that.
Everything was going smoothly until Edward suddenly came up to me without his usual deceitful face… He really asked me and Niel for help with his personal request…
That is his only daughter being held hostage at her own elementary school.
Asking with trembling hands holding two masks and two disguise pins for me and Niel…
He asked as if his instincts chose that Niel and I were the only two most trusted people to help him in that one case… He knew that I was the one who had cornered him, the person behind all the troubles he had been through, but he still dared to ask me for help.
That's why I tried to ask him one thing…
"Is it because of me that your daughter is in trouble?"
The question came not out of any understanding, other than because it came too much of a coincidence after Edward got into so much trouble leading the Sins Takers.
For that question, Edward was silent without giving any answer, I just nodded as if convinced that Niel would do the same on instinct.
~~~~~
The mission was intense as far as I can remember…
There were two children killed, crying and screaming everywhere, the building caught fire just in my absence for a moment.
That’s when I was assigned to fight the leader who had no magical power whatsoever, where I just had to lock him up in a lump of ice until he gave up trying to move…
No fight means too much to me, I just asked the middle east man who had ordered his group to do all those things, because the location and timing of these men's actions were too specific to threaten Edward.
Yet he didn't answer until his skin turned blue and lost the light in his eyes, that’s the first time in history I killed a human.
Weirdly, I didn't feel bothered at all…
I brought his dead body back to be collected, the hostage rescue mission was successfully handled with as few innocent lives as possible lost from our side. But at the same time, from that moment on, I started to believe that Edward was leading the Sins Taker precisely because he was threatened by someone.
Maybe… Because of my actions that gave Edward a limit in authority on leading The Sins Taker, he actually got punished by that person… Above him… Right?
Or…
I don’t know… Only one thing that I know is that my priorities the day after that, remain the same as before… At least this time I had a chance, a free time to go on a mission with Niel and the others, where there was one time when I found Niel talking to a girl in a quiet place and it really bothered me.
My jealousy of that view was actually there… While of course I denied it from the man, but it did exist…
So I said too many stupid things on purpose just to annoy the girl Niel was talking to, that is Fanya, who then burst into tears and left the two of us here. Where it traumatized me, about how Niel felt disappointed and sad for my actions…
My apologies he ignored until one night I felt bad for myself.
~~~~~
But maybe it was just the right time for the heaviest part of my plans… Way too early than what I had previously planned, but still made my burden a little lighter…
Like, I knew that before I approached Niel and Fanya, they were discussing a matter.
They weren't in the right condition to laugh. So maybe it would be the right time to express the honesty… I advised Niel to seek the truth of the curse that the three of them had without mentioning anything about the curse itself…
In my heart I felt that I would regret this move very much, but I did it anyway after noticing how Niel's expression became really curious and full of misgivings about something he actually knew existed. As if he was saying "I knew it," he agreed with my suggestion. On that day I saw the man's back as if it were the last time, walking away from my side…

Grimm Tales: A RWBY Story
Two years after losing everything, two sisters will try to rebuild the lives they one had, as well as mend the heartache left behind through their connection with the many strange cast of characters they meet, and the many strange story's they're caught up in. Grimm Tales is a RWBY fan fiction I wrote and illustrated from 2014 through 2016. Keep that in mind when experiencing the story and the art within it. Also keep in mind that this story is technically unfinished. I put this aside in October of 2016 after completing what you can call the "first season" of what was going to be a multipart series. Even though the entire story remains unfinished, things do end in a somewhat satisfactory manner.

The Unsorcerer
DISCLAIMER: The cover pic is not my original work. Credits goes to the Illustrator. This is a story of a man named Cipher, a 21st Century man reincarnated in a world where magic is the way of life. In the continent of Iarica, the people of this land are able to wield the crystals or magic stones for whatever purpose they desire. These people are called "Sorcerers", blessed individuals who are favored by the Gods and gifted with an ability to manipulate "Mana", the energy of the World and the energy source that makes all of the machines run. Cipher in contrast, is not. He is an "Unsorcerer", a person unable to wield the crystals and mana and eventually magic itself. Because of this "defect", he is shunned, ridiculed, and abused by most people and eventually by the whole society. Little did Iarica and her denizens know, this so-called reject of society is more than what he seems... Note: This humble Author-san is not a native English speaker, so there will be grammatical errors. Also the chapters are short, about 1K words. However I will try my best efforts on reaching the 2k-4k words threshold. Another note is that this will be a Harem fic, so to anyone who are not fan of the genre this may not be your cup of tea. Any criticsm are welcome as long it can help me to improve my writing skills since I'm just a newcomer in this scene.
